Robert Redford Remembers Being Mistaken for Paul Newman (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Apr 12th 2011 8:30AM
Robert Redford will always be associated with Paul Newman because of their roles together in the iconic films 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' and 'The Sting', and because of their long-time friendship.Redford reflected upon Newman, who died in 2008, on 'Piers Morgan Tonight' (weekdays, 9PM ET on CNN), telling a story about the time a man in a restaurant confused Redford for Newman.
"I was at a table in Napa Valley," Redford told the host. "And the table next door was making all this fuss, and I could tell they were looking at me, and they were going to come over and say something."
Matt Damon Reveals 'Great' Advice George Clooney Gave Him When They Met (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Mar 4th 2011 12:45AM
When Matt Damon and George Clooney first met, Damon was just beginning the ascent of his career, so Clooney passed along to the younger actor a piece of advice on dealing with fame that Paul Newman had given him.Damon spoke about this conversation on 'Piers Morgan Tonight' (weekdays, 9PM ET on CNN.)
"The first thing [Clooney] said to me, the first day I met him was, 'don't let them keep you inside,' and that was great, great advice"
"By that you mean physically in your home," Morgan clarified.
David Letterman on the last episode of The Jon Stewart Show - VIDEO
by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 7th 2009 5:02PM
Long before he was host of The Daily Show (well, about five or six years before), Jon Stewart hosted a late-night talk show, titled The Jon Stewart Show. It was a good show (first on MTV then syndicated), very casual and rock and roll and young, and probably should have lasted longer, though I guess he wouldn't have gone on to do The Daily Show. After the jump is footage from the last episode, where David Letterman was the guest. Letterman doesn't do many talk shows, so Stewart probably immensely appreciated the fact that he'd take the time to do his last one (probably one of the reasons why Stewart looks up to Letterman to this day). Letterman talks about Paul Newman, why getting canceled doesn't mean you're a failure, and hosting the Oscars (which is funny, considering Stewart would do the same thing years later).
