Former 'The Hills' and 'Laguna Beach' reality star Kristin Cavallari has been paired with Mark Ballas on this season's 'Dancing With The Stars.' Both are newly single, and on 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 9AM PT on Fox) she addressed the rumors that the two were already dating.

Dorothy Lucey started the rapid-fire examination. "There are rumors about you and your partner ..." but before Cavallari could finish denying them, Jillian Reynolds jumped in. "He's with Pia, right?" she asked. Reynolds was referring to Pia Toscano, a contestant from last season's 'American Idol.' Cavallari wouldn't comment that, but definitively denied she and Ballas are dating. "Nothing is going on with the two of us," she said.

Watch Pia Toscano's 'This Time' Video

by AOL Music Staff, posted Aug 14th 2011 9:00AM
Pia ToscanoPia Toscano has yet to release her debut album, but the season 10 'American Idol' contestant dropped her debut music video this week, premiering the simple-yet-sexy video for her debut single, 'This Time.'

In the new video, the 22-year-old talent rolls around on a beach, frolics in the ocean and sings her heart out, throwing seductive stares at the camera and stroking her luscious brown locks.

From the looks of it, the video was made on a pretty low budget, but with a voice and a face like that, who needs all the fancy bells and whistles anyway?

The eliminated 'Idol' hopeful is currently touring with the American Idol Live Tour as she works on her forthcoming debut album, which she told AOL Music will be a "relatable" and a "pop album with R&B influence." "It has an edgy, soulful and powerful vibe," she added.

'American Idol' Finalist Pia Toscano Performs on 'SYTYCD' Results Show (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 5th 2011 12:29AM
Pia Toscano, 'So You Think You Can Dance'Perhaps as a reminder that winning isn't everything on these reality shows, Pia Toscano was the guest performer on the penultimate results episode of 'So You Think You Can Dance' (Thu., 8PM ET on FOX). She only came in ninth last season on 'American Idol,' but that hasn't slowed her down in her career.

She performed her new single 'This Time' and proved that your finishing place in a reality competition is not necessarily a reflection of your talent. You don't have to win to be vindicated that you're great, or to be successful.

But Nigel Lythgoe was quick to remind everyone that the real winner in all of this is dance. Caitlynn made a strong case for herself against the one-two leaders in the judges' eyes, Sasha and Melanie, but was it enough to earn her a spot in the finale?

However, all is not lost for this makeup-artist-turned-singing-sensation, as she recently signed with Jimmy Iovine's Interscope records. And with the recent release of single 'This Time,' we're sure Pia is well on her way to becoming a pop music mainstay. Stefano Langone, Paul McDonald, and Pia Toscano from 'American Idol' on 'Rachael Ray'Stefano Langone, Paul McDonald and Pia Toscano may not have won this season's 'American Idol,' but today they had a chance at a different prize. The three former 'Idol' contestants held a cook-off on 'Rachael Ray' (weekdays, syndicated) as part of the 'Rival Ray' segment. Toscano made a quesadilla she described as "the bomb," McDonald made a grilled cheese sandwich, and Langone a pasta dish.

Langone was particularly confident. "I hope that the judges have good taste buds," he said. "Because if they do, I'm taking the crown home." Toscano and her bomb were eliminated first; Langone and his pasta were indeed the last ones standing.

The win actually comes with a little gold statue. If you squint, it kind of looks like an Emmy. So Langone won bragging rights, especially if he has friends with poor vision.

Pia Toscano & Mark Ballas, 'Dancing with the Stars'Ever since Pia Toscano's surprise elimination from 'American Idol' a few weeks back, the Internet has been abuzz with rumors of her being in a relationship with 'Dancing with the Stars' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC) professional Mark Ballas. Not ones to let good free publicity like that slip away, the show booked Toscano for this week's results show.

To add fuel to the fire, they had Ballas perform with fellow pro Karina Smirnoff to Toscano's performance of 'I'll Stand By You.' That way we could watch the two of them on the stage together to see if there were any smoldering looks passed back and forth.

Tom Bergeron said he was advised to ask about the relationship, but that he couldn't do that to her. Instead he asked, "Is he a good kisser?"

Will 'The Voice' Be More Legitimate Than 'American Idol'?

by Stephanie Earp, posted Apr 18th 2011 5:00PM

In the Netherlands, that land of windmills, tulips and endless reality series, a show called 'The Voice of Holland' has become more popular that the Dutch versions of 'American Idol,' 'X-Factor' and all other singing competitions. So, of course, it's been developed for a North American audience, and starting Tuesday, April 26 on NBC and CTV, 'The Voice' will try to make a similar jump to the top of the ratings pile over here.

The show has all the hallmarks of a reality singing competition: celebrity judges (Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green), vapid host (Carson Daly) and a drawn-out audition phase. But it makes one subtle switch to the usual proceedings, and that has me very curious: The judges (called "coaches" in this case) can't see the people who are auditioning. It's a pretty simple twist, but potentially a very powerful one.

Chris Jericho Talks His 'Idol' Connections with James Durbin and Pia Toscano (VIDEO)

Chris Jericho, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'It's a pretty big deal to be a celebrity contestant on 'Dancing With the Stars.' It is, after all, the No. 2 show on television. But it's Chris Jericho's connections to the No. 1 show on television that is getting him the most attention, according to his appearance on 'The Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC).

Both 'American Idol' and 'DWTS' tape in the same studio, so Jericho has had opportunities to meet some of the contestants. He and James Durbin have become friends, and he even helped Pia Toscano make a possible love connection.

In relaying the story, he broke into an amazing Pia impression, too. "Oh, I really like Mark Ballas and he's so pretty," Jericho said she told him, and so he simply facilitated the exchanging of phone numbers.

Pia Toscano on 'Idol' Voting: 'I Think the Judges Should Have a Say' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 12th 2011 1:55PM
Pia Toscano of 'American Idol' on 'Today'When the public vote tossed Pia Toscano off of 'American Idol,' it seemed to catch the judges and the audience by surprise. Toscano spoke of her experience on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) this morning, covering her premonition about being in the bottom three and the voting system itself.

"It didn't come as a shock to me when I was in the bottom three," said Toscano, "but you never expect to get voted off so early." She also wouldn't speculate on judge Steven Tyler's comments that men weren't voting and that female voters might be jealous of Toscano. She was diplomatic about that, saying contestants need to concentrate on their performance instead of the voting, and deflected speculation about a new record deal fairly smoothly.

Backstage Interviews at 'Dancing With the Stars': Kendra Talks Karina's 'Playboy'; Is Mark Dating Pia Toscano?

by Michael Maloney, posted Apr 12th 2011 7:00AM
Karina SmirnoffKarina Smirnoff chose not to comment on the news that she'll be posing in Playboy, which may not fly too well with producers of 'Dancing With the Stars,' the family-friendly show on which Smirnoff appears. But her 'DWTS' cast mate Kendra Wilkinson, a former playmate herself, jumped to Smirnoff's defense on the post-show press line last night.

"Doing 'DWTS' and doing Playboy are two very separate things," Wilkinson told TV Squad. "[Karina] is an adult woman and we live in America. Let her be who she wants to be. I'm so happy that she's happy and she is who she is. She's about to get married. [Posing in Playboy] is, in a way, a bachelorette party to herself."

When asked to discuss her upcoming pictorial, Smirnoff told reporters, "I just don't think it's fair to talk about anything else but dancing. [Ralph Macchio and I] had such an amazing night."
