Now, the married couple is about to find out how well they can work together.According to Deadline, NBC has won a bidding war for a scripted comedy pilot, produced by DeGeneres and starring de Rossi, about "two dueling sisters."
The currently unnamed, multi-camera show will be written by former 'Samantha Who' creator Don Todd and marks the return to scripted TV comedy for both talents.
Five Real-Life Couples We'd Love to See on Reality TV
by Jean Bentley, posted Jun 12th 2011 10:00AM
Ice T and his wife, Coco, have been together for 10 years.A decade is a long time in show business, but the rapper-turned-actor and model are still as devoted as ever. The couple, who were married in 2005, renewed their wedding vows in an over-the-top ceremony last weekend. Now, their so-weird-but-it-works relationship will take center stage in the E! reality series 'Ice Loves Coco' (premieres Sun., June 12 at 10:30PM).
The fact that it's taken them this long to step in front of reality cameras together had us a little surprised -- they odd couple seems made for TV -- but we're happy they're finally there. But it got us to thinking -- who else would we like to watch on the small screen?
Here are five other celebrity couples we think should get their own reality shows.
'Arrested Development' Cast: Where Are They Now?
by Kim Potts, posted Feb 10th 2011 1:45PM

It's been five years since the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning family comedy 'Arrested Development' left the airwaves, and, though we say this with a little grain of salt, it looks like the long-rumored big-screen version of the series is finally a go, maybe even for later this year.
And while we can't wait to see those wacky Bluths back in action, it's not like the cast members have been sitting around twiddling their thumbs since the 'Arrested Development' finale aired on Feb. 10, 2006. In fact, they've been a pretty busy bunch, including many projects in which they've continued to be co-stars ...

by PopEater Staff, posted Dec 7th 2010 3:30PM

'Dancing With the Stars' may not be looking to feature a same-sex couple in season 11 next spring after one big star -- actress Portia de Rossi, wife of Ellen DeGeneres -- reportedly declined to be the show's guinea pig
According to PopEater's Rob Shuter, because 'Arrested Development' star de Rossi (who goes by Portia DeGeneres now) rejected the offer, the megahit reality series will wait on breaking the same-sex dancing barrier.
"If Portia had agreed then this would have been a done deal," an ABC insider told Shuter. "She was the only star that could have pulled this off without completely offending the program's conservative viewers."

by Oliver Miller, posted Nov 2nd 2010 12:06AM
Portia de Rossi once weighed 82 pounds. The actress existed on a 300 calorie-a-day diet: family members were afraid she would die. Eventually, she collapsed while on a film set -- as a result of her diet, her internal organs were failing. She was only 25 years old.The actress began dieting as a 12-year-old. She was a child model; an agent told Portia her skinny frame was too large. As a result, De Rossi became anorexic and bulimic. It took her more than a decade to recover.
On 'Oprah' (weekdays, syndicated), Portia revealed her eating disorder -- and discussed what saved her life. De Rossi was saved by a strong female presence ... but it wasn't her wife Ellen DeGeneres. No, Portia credits her survival to the day when she "found love ... with a horse."

Jane After Dark: Catching up with Better Off Ted
by Jane Boursaw, posted Jan 2nd 2010 11:00AM
I'm kind of bummed that it looks like Better Off Ted might be on its way out. Maybe not, though. Mike's review this week sounded like it might get a reprieve from the axe. Who knows, really? But either way, I'm glad to have found this quirky series, and have been watching season one on DVD this week. It's kind of a cross between The Office and Arrested Development. If you're not familiar with the show, it takes place in the Research & Development department of Veridian Dynamics, a corporation with lots of cubicles and fluorescent lights.
Ted (Jay Harrington) is a pleasant guy who runs things and answers to Veronica (Portia de Rossi), an uptight boss who wears her hair pulled back so tight it's amazing she can even breathe.
ABC Planning Double Dose of 'Scrubs' and 'Better Off Ted'
by Jane Murphy, posted Dec 22nd 2009 12:45AM
Is 'Scrubs' no longer getting love from ABC? According to the Hollywood Reporter, the network will air two episodes of the medical school comedy, along with the little-seen 'Better Off Ted,' on Jan. 5 and 12. This will be proceeded by another new episode of 'Scrubs' on Jan. 1, which will air in between two new episodes of 'Ted.'
In other words: a lot of new episodes are coming -- and fast.
ABC double-dipping Better Off Ted and Scrubs
by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 21st 2009 11:30AM
While it's great that fans of Scrubs will be able to see two episodes of the show each and every week starting January 5, that's actually not a sign that ABC loves the show so much and it gets such great ratings that they want to have it on their schedule as much as possible. They're burning off all of the episodes quickly. They're doing the same thing with Better Off Ted, which somehow made it to a second season (that's not a comment on the show, I'm talking about how it was a surprise that ABC renewed it). Both shows will have two episodes on Tuesday nights for the next several weeks, and both shows will see their 13 episode seasons end in late January.
Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that the shows won't be back for another season (after all, we all thought Scrubs was gone a couple of seasons ago), but it probably means that the shows won't be back for another season.
Sneak Peek: next week's season premiere of Better Off Ted
by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 3rd 2009 4:00PM
Actually, two sneak peeks. The first clip shows what you should do if you ever blurt out something in bed that you shouldn't (and why you should learn a bit of geography first) and the second clip (after the jump) shows what happens if a coworker reveals a little bit about himself.
I'm so glad ABC renewed this show. The season premiere airs next Tuesday at 9:30.

Poehler and Arnett Team up on 'Parks and Recreation' -- What Other Real-Life Couples Should Try It?
by Rebecca Paiement, posted Nov 18th 2009 11:29AM
Things are heating up this season in Pawnee, Indiana. E! Online reports that the 'Parks and Recreation' team have Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler, accidentally getting involved in a sex scandal that derails her plans for a city Santa's Village. Producer Mike Schur says, "There are rumors swirling about another city councilman scandal -- who was disgraced by cave sex in the 'Practice Day' episode -- and Leslie ends up getting photographed with him at a bar late at night by a tabloid newspaper." As if that isn't enough, Leslie and Dave the Cop don't stand the test of time. "We were so lucky to get Louis C.K.," says Poehler of her character's love interest, "but he's starting his own show."
Luckily, it has just been confirmed by Entertainment Weekly that 'Parks' fans will see that role filled by none other than Poehler's real-life love, Will Arnett. Of course, Poehler and Arnett have worked together many times, including on 'Arrested Development' and in films such as 'Blades of Glory' and 'Monsters vs. Aliens.' So it's only natural that Arnett would stop by 'Parks.'
Arnett's arrival on the show will coincide with that of Justin Theroux who will, incidentally, also vie for Leslie's heart.
With thoughts of Arnett and Poehler teaming up again, we brainstormed some other real-life couples whose pairings would translate well to the small screen.
Ellen and Portia Give First Interview as Married Couple on 'Oprah Winfrey Show'
by Donald Deane, posted Nov 10th 2009 9:29AM
In their first interview as a married couple since they tied the knot in August of last year at their home in Los Angeles, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi talk about making their marriage official and the joy of wedded bliss on 'Oprah Winfey.'"The thing about being a gay couple is that in the past you referred to your wife and there were quotation marks around it, and there was always that chance that people would kind of snigger about it, but now it's fact. It's law," de Rossi said. "She's my wife. I get to say that she's my wife. That's just the way it is. It's fact."
