Ralph Macchio Reveals Secret to Staying Young (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Mar 18th 2010 2:30PM
'The Karate Kid' may have been made 26 years ago, but star Ralph Macchio has somehow managed to maintain his youthful good looks. On the fourth hour of 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC), Hoda Kotb asked baby-faced Macchio how he's avoided the effects of aging. "It was my intention. I figured aging was unpopular. So, I decided not to do it," Machio joked.

TV Casting: Alan Tudyk Joins 'Rockford Files' Reboot
by Andrew Scott, posted Mar 12th 2010 11:30AM
File this under good casting news: 'Firefly's' Alan Tudyk has reportedly joined the cast of NBC's upcoming 'Rockford Files' reboot, which stars Dermot Mulroney as the titular character, Jim Rockford. Tudyk, who also appeared on 'Dollhouse' and 'V,' will play Det. Dennis Becker, the only cop who seems to get along with Rockford's "slightly crumpled" and "cynical" personality. 'House's' David Shore wrote the pilot. [Hollywood Reporter]More casting news after the jump.
Ralph Macchio to return to Ugly Betty
by Kona Gallagher, posted Jul 25th 2009 11:28AM

I swear, I get more TV news from Twitter these days than nearly anywhere else. To wit: I just found out a brand new piece of Ugly Betty casting news from one of the stars himself. Ralph Macchio, the erstwhile Karate Kid, who joined Betty at the beginning of last season, will be reprising his role in season 4.
He tweeted: "4 all inquiring about Ugly Betty. Just got official call that Archie will b back in Season 4. 4 how much, how long and when. Don't know yet."
How about the Karate Kid as Barney?
by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 17th 2006 6:48PM
Here's an interesting piece of trivia from this
weekend's story about Neil Patrick Harris in The New York Times. If he hadn't said yes to the role of
Barney on How I Met Your Mother, the role would have been offered to Ralph Macchio.Hmmm ...it's easy to sit here and say, oh, it's good Harris got it, but who knows? Maybe Macchio would have been great in the role too and would have served as sort of a resurgence for his acting career.
With all the "Barneyisms," maybe the writers could have thrown in a funny "Wax on, wax off" reference.
Wax on, wax off

Remember Ralph Macchio, star of The Karate Kid and My Cousin Vinny? He's signed a deal with N, the teen network I've never seen (the nighttime version of Noggin, which I've also never seen) to develop TV shows. He won't star in the shows, which is good because you don't want someone older trying to pass themselves off as a teen, though it never hurt Beverly Hills, 90210.
He's also working on a TV show called The Ralph Show.
