Jill Zarin On Being Fired From 'Real Housewives' and Her Reality TV Future (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 21st 2011 3:30PM
Jill Zarin may have been booted off the 'The Real Housewives of New York,' but from the sound of her interview on 'The Wendy Williams Show,' (weekdays, syndicated on Fox) she won't be off the reality TV circuit for long. Zarin talked with Williams about the experience of being fired from Bravo's 'Housewives' franchise and hinted at her next TV move.

Zarin had a hunch she might not be asked to return to the show, so she didn't allow herself to get emotional when she got the bad news. "I knew that this was coming. This was not a surprise. All the ladies got a phone call that other week that 3 were coming back and the other four weren't decided ... And then Saturday night I got a phone call from the producer saying the decision was final and they'd be putting out a press release in 5 minutes," she said, sounding emotional.

Kelly Bensimon Is Not Ready To Leave 'Real Housewives of New York City' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 25th 2011 2:40PM
Kelly Bensimon of 'Real Housewives of New York City' on 'Good Day New York'Kelly Bensimon sounds like she wants to continue with 'Real Housewives of New York City,' despite any rumors to the contrary. When the good folks at 'Good Day New York' (weekdays, 9AM ET on Fox) posited that she seemed ready to leave the arguing and fighting behind and become her own breakout star, Bensimon said she's finally enjoying herself.

"No, I actually had a really good time with it this year," she said. "I mean, this was my opportunity to really, really show who I am and not be in a combative situation. It was two seasons of just constantly being berated all the time."

She may have more friends on the show if she signs up for another season. She said she had been suggesting people to the producers, and that it has gotten a little out of hand. "Every cocktail party that I go to people are like, 'I'm on the show,'" she said. "'I'm going to be on the show with you.'" More people to be crazy with.

'Real Housewives of New York' Star Sonja Morgan May Lose House, 'Hung' Experiments and More TV News

by Chris Harnick, posted Jul 5th 2011 12:00PM
Sonja MorganSonja Morgan's life (and financial woes) have been splashed on the front pages of tabloids and TV screens thanks to her role on 'Real Housewives of New York City,' but now the reality star is speaking out about her messy divorce and money troubles.

According to the New York Post, Morgan may lose her Upper East Side town house.

"I'm sure the world thinks, 'Sonja doesn't have to worry, she's got that husband there for her.' But I'm on my own," Sonja said.

Sonja claims in court papers that John Adams Morgan, her 80-year-old ex-husband, is refusing to pay her a $3 million divorce judgment and $300,000 in back alimony. Sonja also claims he has barred her from selling and visiting properties she co-owns with him in Colorado and France.

Last fall, Sonja filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Countess LuAnn to Tina Fey: 'Call Me!'

by Chris Harnick, posted Jun 29th 2011 6:45PM
Countess LuAnnCountess LuAnn de Lesseps is having fun right now. She's starring on a hit reality show, in a relationship and living out a dream: being a pop star.

Her latest piece of fabulous music comes to us in the form of 'Chic C'est La Vie.'

"This song is really about living out my dream," LuAnn told AOL TV at Life & Style's song and video release party. "It's about travel, it's about confidence, it's about me living my dream. That's what I'm doing by doing the music video ... it was just really fun"

'Chic' is the follow-up to 'The Real Housewives of New York City' star's iTunes hit 'Money Can't Buy You Class.' There aren't as many lessons in 'Chic' as there are in 'Money,' but there are little messages hidden within the lyrics.

"There's another lesson in this song, which is 'Beauty class and elegance lie within the soul. Confidence is key,'" she said. "There's always a little message in there, but I'm really having a great time with it. I'm just having fun, that's what it's all about."

Here, LuAnn previews the rest of the 'Real Housewives' season -- there's a duet in her future! -- and her desire to guest star on '30 Rock.'

'Real Housewives of New York' Cast Shake-Up? Alex McCord Responds to New Report

by PopEater Staff, posted Jun 28th 2011 10:15AM
Real Housewives of NYCIt was reunion time for Bravo's 'The Real Housewives of New York' last Wednesday at Capital in NYC. As usual, it was full of tears, laughter and betrayal but nothing was as interesting as one 'Real Housewife' talking about the show in the past tense.

"Cindy [Barshop] barely spoke at the taping," a cast member told PopEater' Rob Shuter, "And when she did talk about her time on the show it was in the past tense. She is definitely not coming back."

Also buzzing around today is a new report by HollywoodLife that in addition to Cindy, original housewife Alex McCord will also not be around for a fifth season, but in an exclusive statement to PopEater, Alex rebuffs such claims.

Jill Zarin Tells Leah Remini She'd Make a Great 'Real Housewife' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 15th 2011 5:10PM
Leah Remini on 'The Real Housewives of New York City' on 'The Talk''The Real Housewives of New York City' is missing its most recognizable face this season without Bethenny Frankel. But that hasn't hurt the show, said Jill Zarin on Wednesday's 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). Zarin said she was happy for Frankel and all of her post-show success, and then got into the details that make the show popular, the interpersonal friction between the different housewives.

At the insistence of Leah Remini, Zarin addressed her troubles with fellow housewife Ramona Singer. "Have you sat her down, seriously, off camera and said, 'Ramona, come and watch the show and look how you look," said Remini. Zarin said she was having problems with Singer lying about small details, like whether Zarin owned the Ferrari she drove in season one.

Remini was so passionate about the feud that Holly Robinson Peete asked Zarin if she thought Remini would make a good addition to the cast. Zarin said she would, and Remini seemed open to the idea, saying she loves the show.

'Real Housewives of New York City' Ratings Do Just Fine Without Bethenny

by PopEater Staff, posted Jun 11th 2011 2:00PM
Bethenny Frankel
Maybe Bethenny Frankel wasn't as integral to the success of 'The Real Housewives of New York City' as we thought -- ratings for the Bravo show have actually increased since Bethenny Frankel left the show.

"During filming and again just prior to our fourth season airing, many articles popped up stating that RHONY would flop after Bethenny's departure," a current cast member told Rob Shuter of AOL TV sister site PopEater. "Many of these seemed to be veiled leaks by B and her team, designed to hurt us and boost her own spin off. Unfortunately for them, those plans didn't pan out."

'Real Housewives of New York City' Star Sonja Morgan Ordered to Pay $7 Million

by Chris Harnick, posted May 23rd 2011 12:00PM
Sonja MorganSonja Morgan has been ordered to pay $7 million after a failed movie venture. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the United States Court of Appeals has upheld the $7 million judgment against the 'Real Housewives of New York City' star.

The ruling alleges Morgan is liable for fraudulent conduct because the potential John Travolta film, 'Fast Flash to Bang Time,' didn't get made. Morgan was ordered to pay Richard Rionda del Castro and his company, Hannibal Pictures, $7 million.

"With the confirmation by one of the highest Courts of our country, the masks are falling and there is no longer any doubt that we were defrauded and severely damaged," Rionda del Castro said in a statement. "We are now going to collect to the fullest extent of the law."

Bravo to Recast 'The Real Housewives of New York City'?

by Jean Bentley, posted May 16th 2011 12:00PM
The Real Housewives of New York CityCould we have seen the last of Turtle Time?

Yep, Ramona Singer and her fellow socialites could be gone from 'The Real Housewives of New York City' next season, reports the New York Post.

According to the paper, Bravo is looking to completely rehaul the 'New York' cast by hiring an all-new group of women for the next season. That means Jill Zarin, pantsless Sonja Morgan and the rest of the ladies could be gone from the show completely.

"They want an entirely new cast to replicate Beverly Hills," a source told the Post. "They want rich, rich women, like Adrienne Maloof and Camille Grammer, dripping in glamour and $10 million penthouses. And they don't want to fake it. They are discreetly reaching out to women who fit the bill."

Billy Bush Asks Bethenny Frankel for Money (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted May 11th 2011 5:20PM
Bethenny Frankel on 'Access Hollywood Live'Bethenny Frankel's money has been the source of some back and forth recently, centering around the sale of her Skinnygirl Margarita business. The sale has been reported to have netted $120 million for Frankel, although today on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC), Frankel wouldn't give Billy Bush exact numbers. But Bush assumed it was a multi-million dollar deal. And he could use a little help.

"Give me a million," he said. Frankel said she didn't have cash on her. "Give me your shoes," he asked. Frankel pointed out they weren't expensive shoes. Bush praised her for being frugal.

Kit Hoover's concern was more for the booze, as she held up a margarita and said she hoped that Frankel was "laughing all the way to the bank." Probably so, but cheap shoes and margaritas aren't a good combination for traveling.

'Real Housewives of NYC''s Sonja Morgan: 'I'm Not Sure What a Thug in a Cocktail Dress Is'

by Chris Harnick, posted Apr 7th 2011 9:00AM
Sonja MorganLast season on 'Real Housewives of New York City,' fun-loving scene-stealer Sonja Morgan spent much of her time on the outskirts, away from the drama.

She watched as Jill and Bethenny's relationship imploded, LuAnn stepped into the music studio, Alex began to find her voice, Kelly lost a few marbles and Ramona got down with some turtle time. Her personal drama, an ongoing divorce battle and financial issues all played out in the background, away from the prying eyes of the camera.

Not so much this year, the Bravo star told AOL TV.

"It's always difficult to have cameras [on you], even in the best of times," Sonja said, "because cameras get everything and it can be edited in any way the producers want to edit them."

Besides a different side of the blonde bombshell, Sonja teased the "riveting" Morocco trip, Alex's rants, her own toaster oven cookbook and what, exactly, is going on with her financial woes.

Sonja Morgan Explains 'Real Housewives of NYC' Delay, 'Freaks & Geeks' Paley Guest List Revealed and More TV News

Sonja MorganNow that we've come to terms with 'Real Housewives of Miami' taking 'Real Housewives of New York City's' place on Bravo's schedule, it's time to talk about why.

According to 'New York City' star Sonja Morgan, editors need more time to piece the series together.

"They want it to be the best possible season," Morgan told Star magazine. "To do that, they need some more time to edit. We've filmed like crazy, more than ever, and we're seven ladies so they have a lot of footage to go through."

Many insiders -- including us -- speculate the season wasn't shaping up to be very dramatic without Bethenny Frankel. Her new series, 'Bethenny Ever After,' debuts later this month.
