by Jane Boursaw, posted Apr 13th 2010 3:18AM
Oh, Jack! Things really haven't changed that much in the eight That's just not right, Jack. And we know you'll understand when we say you should think twice about spending too much time with your daughter and granddaughter. We like them, Jack.

'24' - '8:00AM - 9:00AM' Recap
by Mike Moody, posted Apr 13th 2010 3:15AM

(S08E17) Hour 17 began on a downbeat and ended with a major tragedy. At least Chloe was finally recognized as the CTU's best and brightest rock star. That was a sweet moment in a sluggish episode full of predictable developments and a senseless "shocking" ending.
Head after the jump for the spoils. And fair warning: get ready for some major whining about this episode.
Annie Wersching on Jack and Renee's Romance and the End of '24'
by Mike Moody, posted Apr 12th 2010 2:00PM
'24' is almost over, but Jack Bauer is about to face one of his toughest challenges yet -- trying to start a romantic relationship with Annie Wersching's Renee Walker.Jack and Renee take a well-deserved break from kicking bad guy ass to explore their romantic feelings for each other on tonight's much-anticipated episode.
I recently got a chance to talk with Wersching, who plays Renee on '24,' about tonight's big ep. We also talked about the fan reaction to her character and where Renee might be headed after the show ends. Wersching stayed mum about whether things would actually "work out" between Jack and Renee, but she promised that the show's final hours would deliver some surprising twists and turns that no one, not even Jack Bauer, could see coming.
Head after the jump for the interview.
Jack Bauer Gets Stabbed on '24' (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 9th 2010 4:27AM
We can't say we've been all that thrilled about this season of '24' (Mon., 9PM on FOX). In fact, it's just a shadow of its former self. But one scene in last night's episode offered a glimmer of hope that perhaps all is not lost. After getting knocked around by Vladimir, Renee, who's been mostly a simpering wimp thus far, picked up a knife and stabbed him smack in the eye! And then in the chest! Multiple times! Stab! Stab! Stab!
But, uh oh. Clearly, she didn't mean to stab Jack, too. She just got caught up in the moment of unbridled revenge! Then again, it's just another day in the life of poor, tortured Jack.

Review: '24' - '10:00PM - 11:00PM'
by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 9th 2010 3:54AM

(S08E07) I'm going to whine a lot about this episode, so that's just a little warning to anyone absolutely loving this season of '24.' But first, let's talk about the great scene where Renee goes ballistic, stabs Vladimir, then accidentally stabs Jack. Then Jack takes the knife out and hurls it at the other guy coming in the door. Awesome!
Ok, now for the bad stuff. For one thing, I thought we were going to get to see Renee kick some major butt this season. So far, she's just a wimpy female with a big fat vengeance chip on her shoulder who still gets knocked around by the bad guys (excepting that awesome scene noted above). Come on, Renee! I want a female Jack Bauer, not some sniveling sap!

(S08E06) "If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, we don't do that anymore." - Hastings to Jack, on using unsavory methods with the Russians
Oh, snap. The Russians may have bought Renee's cover, but that doesn't mean she's out of danger. Just the opposite, especially given the fact that she's a loose cannon and doesn't seem to care whether she lives or dies at this point. Or maybe that's not necessarily true.
Is Jack Bauer still relevant?
by Jason Hughes, posted Feb 25th 2009 7:13PM

It's not you, Jack. It's me ... or maybe it's you. Hey, they brought it up by putting Jack in front of a Senate subcommittee in the first place for his methodology, and then partnering him with an FBI agent who's not comfortable with his aggressive tactics. It's just interesting to me as a long-time faithful that I find myself viewing Jack differently, too. Maybe it's because he skipped a year, but he just comes across as more extreme to me than in the past. But, as I said, it could be me. Maybe Jack is the picture of consistency and I've changed.
When Jack asks for something, if there's any resistance he immediately screams "Now!" or repeats the question in a roar. When Renee or anyone second guesses any of his suggestions he tells them that they're out of options and that they don't have time to do anything but his idea. Don't get me wrong, this season is one of the most exciting yet, but you have to wonder. Do we really need someone like Jack Bauer running around torturing people and sending innocent girls to their deaths to bring in the bad guy? Is it worth it?
