Coming Soon: The 'Flight of the Conchords' Movie?
by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 28th 2011 7:00AM
Time for 'Flight of the Conchords' fans to break out the animal sweaters and do the happy dance: Bret and Jemaine are headed to the big screen! Maybe. Star Bret McKenzie told 'The Hollywood Reporter' that "We're gonna try and do a movie. We just need a story."McKenzie joked, "I'm gonna go back to New Zealand tomorrow, maybe film it next week. And then edit it the week after. I don't know how familiar you are with movies, but there's a lot of behind the scenes stuff that could take one or two weeks. And then, probably in about a month we'll have a premiere."
'Conchords' co-creator James Bobin, who's fresh off directing the new 'Muppets' movie, told StarPulse that he's game: "I'd love to do it. It's just a question of what it would be and when we would do it, but I'm sure because that's what I want to make happen at some point."
Commercials We Love: The HP Ads With Rhys Darby Playing a Murray-alike
by Jane Murphy, posted Apr 7th 2010 4:15PM
As any 'Flight of the Conchords' fan knows, when you hire Murray Hewitt -- talent manager and occasional New Zealand diplomat -- you get round-the-clock commitment, rabid enthusiasm and an extreme belief in your greatness. But let's not dwell on the negative. After all, Murray (or someone an awful lot like him) is hanging out these days with real movers and shakers. Fortune 500 techno-giant Hewlett Packard is featuring 'Conchords' comic Rhys Darby in a series of witty ads under the banner "Let's Do Amazing." ('Conchords' duo Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie pulled the plug on the show in December). It's hard to think of another example of a TV character-inspired pitchman, but the move is genius (there was "I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV." Uh, nah.)
Flight of the Conchords revisit original radio show
by Annie Wu, posted Oct 7th 2009 1:02PM

Back in the day, before Flight of the Conchords' Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie became America's favorite Kiwi musician-comedians, they did a six-episode radio series for BBC Radio 2. The audio has been floating around YouTube for a while, pleasing the fans desperate to get as much folkin' action as possible. To make things a little more legit and extra-fun (thanks to bonus materials), BBC Audio is about to re-release a bigger CD set of the Flight of the Conchords radio show.
Characters I'm missing right now
by Erin Martell, posted May 15th 2008 1:23PM
The writers' strike forced some of my favorite shows into an unexpected, summer-long hiatus and delayed the return of others. I'm grateful that shows like Lost still have new episodes, but the second half of this TV season hasn't felt the same. I especially miss the promising new series that were cut short. It feels like other shows have been on hiatus forever. Flight of the Conchords was supposed to return this year, but had its premiere pushed back until 2009. I miss Bret, Jemaine, and their strange circle of friends. I've been wondering about the fates of several absent characters lately. So many storylines were left unresolved.
Here's a short list of some of the faces I can't wait to see again:
