Richard Lewis Can't Complete a Single Joke in 5 Minutes on 'The Daily Show' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Mar 24th 2011 6:20AM
Richard Lewis on 'The Daily Show'Comedian Richard Lewis was on 'The Daily Show With Jon Stewart' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), where he spent his five-minute segment starting and stopping anecdotes and jokes, and never really getting to any point or punchline.

As the segment came to a close, Lewis attempted to tell a religious joke, but kept getting distracted by tangentially related things that were popping into his mind.

"Complete one thought," Stewart finally said. "Just one. You had five minutes. You can get one. Just one. Just follow one through."

Joy Behar Gets Flustered on 'The View' (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Mar 24th 2010 1:00PM
It seems that Joy Behar is having one of those days. Behar misplaced her notes and couldn't properly introduce a story for discussion, forgot who'd be appearing on her talk show, and took a ribbing from Richard Lewis for being disorganized on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated).

"It was like a high school play," Lewis said, mimicking Behar as she helplessly rifled through her notes earlier. "What are you doing? You have your own show!"

Watch the video after the jump.

Review: Curb Your Enthusiasm - The Bare Midriff

Larry David
(S07E06) "Larry?! You sprayed on Jesus??" - Maureen

For as good an episode as "The Bare Midriff" was, it still had one huge problem that has plagued many past episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm as well. The central conflict -- Maureen's exposed stomach -- was just too much of a stretch (no pun intended). Why's that? The beauty of Curb is how well it sheds light on awkward situations we all relate to. Not so much on this one, because honestly, who in their right mind would think a short shirt like that was work appropriate attire? It wasn't believable, that Maureen thought her shirt was OK for the office. Fortunately, if you were willing to look past the absurdity of the issue, it paid off with arguably one of Curb's top five endings ever.

Larry David set for more Curb Your Enthusiasm

by Allison Waldman, posted Jul 11th 2008 12:41PM
Larry in sneakersRemember how Curb Your Enthusiasm ended last season, with Larry posed in happy, jolly family pictures with the Blacks? Did it leave you laughing and dying to know what happens next -- or is this the end?

The answer is now known. There's more Curb Your Enthusiasm on deck, because Larry David has said yes to another HBO season.

HBO announced a seventh season of Curb. It will begin airing in early 2009, giving Larry plenty of time to write the 10 episodes planned. HBO's West Coast prez Michael Lombardo characterized Larry as "excited about it" when he presented at TCA.

That characterization is in line with comments by both Richard Lewis and Jeff Garlin, semi-regular and regular, respectively, in previous months.

And Susie Essman told the New York Post that she had auctioned off a walk-on role in season seven, so it would have been very embarrassing if she didn't know that they were all coming back.

Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Lefty Call

Curb Your Enthusiasm S06E04

(S06E04) "She has bowel concern for you and I do too!" - Richard Lewis

For a show where the main character does nothing but sh*t on people, or in turn only gets sh*t on, I suppose it only makes sense that there would be an episode devoted entirely to... well, sh*t. Notice how this episode played out though. Rather than a few random stories that only sort of intertwined (like we've seen this season), everything in this episode stemmed from one action: Larry got Cha-Cha (Richard Lewis' girlfriend) a receptionist job at the office down the hall from his. How could poor old Larry have possibly realized that it would lead to some temporary deafness and pain in his right ear?

Anything But Love coming to DVD

by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 3rd 2006 11:15AM

Anything But LoveI have to admit, this is one show I thought I'd never see on DVD, so maybe there's hope for other short-lived shows from the 80s.

Anything But Love, the ABC comedy that ran from 1989 to 1992, will be released on DVD February 6. The first set will be the first two seasons (28 episodes total). Here's the info, including episode titles.

If you can't place the show, it starred Jamie Lee Curtis and Richard Lewis as writers at a top Chicago magazine. They're friends at first but eventually (of course) they become more than that. The show costarred Ann Magnuson as their boss, as well as Holly Fulger, Richard Frank, Louis Giambalvo, and Joseph Maher. It was a solid little show, smart and funny, so I'm really glad it's coming to DVD. The set will include commentaries by Curtis and Lewis.

More 'Curb' for HBO

by Anna Johns, posted Aug 10th 2006 9:44AM
larry davidIt turns out it wasn't The End after all. At the end of last season, Curb Your Enthusiasm looked like it was over with a season finale called The End, where Larry David donates a kidney to Richard Lewis and meets his guardian angel. Fans thought it was the final episode of the series since there weren't any plans for a sixth season. Now there's word that HBO and David have reached an agreement for at least one more season of Curb. Filming for ten episodes begins in October but there's no definite air date set.

Is it time for Larry to throw in the towel or do you think he has one last good season in him?
