'South Park' Creators Apologize for Ripping Off CollegeHumor
by PopEater Staff, posted Oct 25th 2010 6:20PM
'South Park' creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have apologized for accidentally plagiarizing the website CollegeHumor. As we reported last week, CollegeHumor writer Dan Gurewitch blogged about the similarities between an Oct. 20 'South Park' spoof of 'Inception' and one that he co-created with David Young. Gurewitch included a line-by-line comparison.
Parker and Stone then confessed to lifting the material, though unconsciously, CNN reports.
"We thought their joke was that a lot of those lines were actually in the movie, showing that the 'Inception' characters didn't even know 'Inception.' That was a mistake, and it was an honest mistake," said Stone. "We're stupid and we just threw it together."
Obama coins hawked by Montel Williams a ripoff? Well... duh!
by Danny Gallagher, posted Feb 16th 2009 2:04PM
One of the most physically painful TV moments in our lifetime was having to watch poor Montel Williams sell the last remainder of his soul for worthless Barack Obama commemorative coins. It seemed just yesterday that the talk show host with the Yul Brenner scalp was chumming it up on the daytime talk show circuit, interviewing women who love too much or husbands who love way too much with people other than their wives. It was like watching the rock-bottom moment of a man's life in the wake of his waning glory days without it airing on VH1.
Now a local action news station has blown the lid off these coins that Montel has reduced himself to hawking: they are a bigger gyp than Baywatch Nights.
Want to know more about the cast of Gossip Girl?
by Kristin Sample, posted Jun 30th 2008 1:01PM
Vanity Fair has done a piece on Gossip Girl profiling the likes and dislikes of its young Hollywood starlets. Amanda Seyfried, who's starring in the upcoming film Mamma Mia! with Meryl Streep, wants to work with Michael Caine on day. When asked whether she drove a hybrid or an Escalade, she said, "Audi. Maybe I should drive a hybrid. I do have a shirt that says, 'Go Green.'?" Well, that helps, I guess. Blake Lively, who got her start playing Bridget in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, got the car question too: "Hybrid. Even if anybody picked the Escalade they wouldn't say it, 'cause it'd be, like, bombed."
VH1.com pointed out that in the article Gossip Girl ripped off a famous Friends photo. The pictures features each cast in evening gowns and tuxes while lugging champagne. Technically, Vanity Fair ripped off Friends. I feel indignant at any comparison, intentional or not, made between Friends (*cue choir of angels*) and Gossip Girl. Check out the pictures and let me know what you think.
Last Comic Standing: Semi-finals round one

(S05E06) When the fine editors here at TV Squad asked me to review Last Comic Standing I of course said yes, despite the fact I was worried criticizing my fellow comics would anger the all-important comedy gods. My easy capitulation proves what you all already know: I'm a people-pleasing simp who would dance a jig in high heels if I thought it would make people like me. If you've been following my write-ups of the show these last few weeks, you know that I've done my best to avoid reviewing it based on the actual stand-up comedy. Well, we're at the point now where I can't hide anymore.
So, let's get reviewing (and please, comedy gods, forgive me)...
