Brad Paisley Performs for Four-Year-Old Fan on 'GMA' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 15th 2011 12:45PM
Brad Paisley performs 'Nobody's Fool' from the 'Cars 2' soundtrack on 'Good Morning America'With two songs on the 'Cars 2' soundtrack, Brad Paisley could be opening up a whole new, younger audience for himself. That was certainly the case Friday morning on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM on ABC), when Paisley performed his song 'Nobody's Fool' for a crowd that included a four-year-old lifelong fan.

Anchor Robin Roberts was interviewing Paisley, who was named CMA Entertainer of the Year and will co-host the awards with Carrie Underwood in November, and asked him what his favorite song to perform was. "Anything new that's a hit, anything that's brand new, because you haven't worn it out and you're still experimenting with it," said Paisley, noting he was learning in front of the fans.

Roberts pointed to the boy in the crowd, who was hoisted on his father's shoulders, and suggested Paisley use him as inspiration. The father said it was his son's fourth birthday, and that Paisley had been his favorite "ever since he was two" years old. "His whole life," Paisley said. It doesn't get too much more brand new than that.

Alicia Keys on 'Good Morning America'Alicia Keys sounded an optimistic note Tuesday morning on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM on ABC). Keys has every reason to be feeling good: she just released a reissue of her debut album, 'Songs In A Minor,' to celebrate its tenth anniversary. Keys is happily married, the mother of an 8-month-old son, and she's spreading her wings as a producer on Broadway with a play called 'Stick Fly.'

'GMA' host Robin Roberts asked Keys if all of that makes it into the music somehow. "That's what also the tenth anniversary is about, you know, the future," she said. "It's about celebrating where I've come from so we can really continue to go on into the future. Because it's going to be an incredible future."

Keys also performed her love letter to her home town, 'Empire State of Mind (Part II),' as the cabs and people passed behind her in Times Square. It made a perfect setting for a song about the city.

Five-Year-Old YouTube Makeup Expert Makes Over 'GMA' Ladies

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 22nd 2011 12:20PM
Five-year-old makeup guru Madison Hohrine on 'Good Morning America'Should a five-year-old be giving advice on anything? If it's YouTube sensation Madison Hohrine, whose makeup tutorials have garnered over a million views, quite possibly. Wednesday on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM on ABC), Bianna Golodryga and Robin Roberts got some tips on makeup from Madison.

Madison thought both of them looked pretty, but said that Roberts could use blush on her cheeks. Golodryga also needed some blush, and also some pink lipstick and purple eye shadow. "Clearly I needed a lot more help than you did," joked Golodryga, addressing Roberts. "I love when someone says, 'You're pretty, but...'" said Roberts.

For the record, Madison's mom has stated in the notes of at least one of her YouTube videos that she doesn't let Madison wear makeup, and that mom lets Madison borrow her makeup -- Madison has none of her own. That is, until the sponsors start calling ...

Lara Spencer tries out for Cirque du Soleil on 'Good Morning America'Cirque du Soleil doesn't just take anyone off the street who can do strange, bendy things in the air. It takes a lot of time, hard work and dedication, as Lara Spencer found out Tuesday on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM on ABC). Spencer put herself through aerial training and took a spin on the "Wheel of Death" with the cast of 'Zarkana,' Cirque du Soleil's new show in New York City.

"It's one thing to play dress-up in the Cirque performer's clothing," said Spencer. "It's quite another to walk in their shoes." Spencer had a little trouble with a spinning-hoop stunt. "Even barely moving, I'm dizzy and dazzled by the difficulty of this trick." She did a bit better with a wire-aided backflip.

The main stunt was the aforementioned "Wheel of Death," which looks like two hamster wheels spinning on an axle suspended above the stage. Spencer went three rounds with that but didn't like it one bit. If they need another woman for the show, Spencer thinks Robin Roberts would do nicely.

"It's fast food meets gourmet kitchen," said Roberts, "and the flavors are enough to make you faint." 'Food Truck Race' host Tyler Florence acknowledged the gourmet food truck trend has been getting national attention, and said that's why Roberts was there.

Roberts got to prod the chefs a bit when time was running out for their challenge and taste their quick cuisine. But she ended the clip with a bit of a cliffhanger. If you want to find out who won the challenge, you'll have to watch the show.

Robin Roberts Tries to Mimic 'Source Code' Introducing Jake Gyllenhaal, Fails, on 'GMA' (VIDEO)

Jake Gyllenhaal on 'Good Morning America'Jake Gyllenhaal plays a time traveler in the new movie 'Source Code,' something Robin Roberts tried to have a little fun with on today's 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM on ABC). Roberts pretended to flub Gyllenhaal's intro and then rewind time the way you would rewind an old VHS tape and do it again. Even she wasn't convinced by her performance.

"Oh, if life were really like that, I could just hit the old rewind button like that," Roberts said. "And the Oscar does not go to me."

Gyllenhaal was kind. "I liked your style," he said. "We almost did that sort of rewind the same way, but we felt it was a little old school."

'Source Code' is in theaters tomorrow. Hopefully, it is a little more technically sophisticated than this interview.

Nancy Grace demands to see the window Chris Brown kicked in on 'Good Morning America'In what she apparently viewed as a gesture on behalf of women, Nancy Grace demanded to see the window that singer Chris Brown allegedly broke on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM on ABC). 'GMA' host Robin Roberts had pressed Brown last week on an incident with his former girlfriend, Rihanna, in which Brown was accused of assaulting her. Brown threw a tantrum on set and was said to have shattered a window.

Roberts was speaking with Grace today about other cases when Grace made a sudden demand. "Before I leave," she said, "on behalf of women everywhere, I demand to see the window that Chris Brown kicked out." She promised she would not rip her shirt off and run out into the street, like Brown did. "What, did he think you were going to fight with him and tear him down by his T-shirt?" she said, and before waiting for Roberts to reply, added, "No comment? OK."
