Ryan Devlin Goes Back to 'Cougar Town'

by Ryan McKee, posted Aug 10th 2010 11:00AM
Getting your sitcom picked up has to be one of the greatest feelings. Getting fired from your sitcom that just got picked up has to be one of the worst. Ryan Devlin was dumped from the upcoming CBS series '$#*! My Dad Says,' starring William Shatner, after the pilot episode.

Luckily, this rising star has a backup plan: 'Cougar Town.' Last season, Devlin played Smith, a young lawyer who hoped to keep Laurie (Busy Philipps) from becoming a cougar herself in later years. The show wasn't banking on Smith returning in season 2 due to Devlin's sure-to-be-a-hit new sitcom, but now that he's free, Entertainment Weekly reports that Smith will reappear on the show.

Cougar Town(S01E12) "Are you two in love?"

Is love in the air? This week marked the moment in Jules and Jeff's relationship where they had to reflect on their couple status and decide if they wanted to be exclusive or not.

Oh and Andy divulged a big secret but, sadly for him and that big ball of fire he has in his chest, another one was added to the pile!

Ryan Devlin Heading to 'Cougar Town'

by Scott Harris, posted Nov 30th 2009 11:16AM
Production on ABC's beleaguered comedy 'Cougar Town' is finally set to resume today -- and what better way to kick things off than by introducing a new love interest for the ladies to fight over?

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Devlin will be joining the cast of 'Cougar Town' as a recurring character. Devlin, who most recently co-starred in the indie feature 'Weather Girl', is probably best known for his reality show hosting duties on such series as 'ET on MTV' and 'Rock the Cradle,' and for his role as the decidedly unsavory serial rapist Mercer Hayes on 'Veronica Mars'.

This time around it appears that he'll be playing a more wholesome figure. But though his new character Smith would seemingly be the perfect young suitor for title cougar Jules (Courteney Cox), it looks as though she won't be the target of his affections; rather, it will be assistant Laurie (Busy Philipps) who is in line for love.
