Ryan Gosling Fell in Love With Motorcycles After Witnessing an Accident (VIDEO)
Ryan Gosling may have the most unusual story behind his love for motorcycles. We're sure Jay Leno was expecting something about a relative having one, or him going to a bike show when he was little, or maybe he even a girlfriend with one. But nobody could have anticipated what he shared on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC).Gosling hesitated a bit before talking, as if he wasn't sure himself that he wanted to tell the story. It's so bizarre, he's not even sure about it and it's his story.
While he was a child, it was a motorcycle accident that drew his attention.

Emma Stone, Spider Monkey, Kicked Ryan Gosling in the Throat on Set (VIDEO)
'Crazy, Stupid, Love' is an all-star comedy film, but it seems some of the funniest stuff might have happened off-camera. Not that an incident between Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone was funny for her, according to her appearance on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC).Stone didn't even know why she was reacting the way she was during filming of a scene reminiscent of the 'Dirty Dancing' lift. "I ran for him to pick me up and I don't know what happened," she said. "I went spider monkey around his head and kicked him in the throat."
After several repeated attempts, with the same disastrous result, Stone had to take a break. It was during this that she realized it was a visceral reaction to a childhood injury when she broke both arms falling off the parallel bars.
The Turkish Baths Didn't Live Up to Ryan Gosling's Fantasy (VIDEO)
When you think of a Turkish bath house, you might have the same romanticized version of it in your head that Ryan Gosling did. But, as he told Jimmy Fallon on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), the reality was a whole different creature.Gosling didn't get beautiful women fanning him with palm leaves and feeding him grapes. "It's just like a big hairy Turkish guy who washes you with a bar of soap," he said.
It was bad enough, he thought, paying for this, but it got much worse when in a moment of pain at the rough treatment, Gosling opened his mouth and the guy's stomach went into his mouth.
"You know how when you eat something weird, your brain sends your tongue to investigate?" he asked ...
Ryan Gosling and Al Roker Try Out Their 'Dirty Dancing' Moves (VIDEO)
"The lift" is a move that took Johnny Castle and Baby a lot of practice to pull off in 'Dirty Dancing.' So imagine how successful Ryan Gosling and Al Roker were when they spontaneously decided to try it on national TV Wednesday on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC).It all started when Roker mentioned Ann Curry had been talking about Gosling's 'Dirty Dancing' moves in the new film 'Crazy, Stupid, Love.' This prompted Gosling to suggest he try them out with Roker, who then took a couple of running starts at Gosling, who unsuccessfully tried to lift him into the air.
Ryan Gosling Bonded With Peter O'Toole Over Losing at the Oscars (VIDEO)
Ryan Gosling was only two years into his mainstream Hollywood career when he earned his first Oscar nomination for 'Half Nelson' in 2006. He was still a young actor, so the night was probably a whirlwind of excitement and emotion. But he remembers Peter O'Toole, he said on 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:37PM ET on CBS).Gosling had attended with his sister, and apparently O'Toole found her appealing. "Come to me my beauty," he said, according to Gosling, with his arms extended.
After it went on longer than Gosling was comfortable with, he stood up to the screen legend on behalf of his sister, saying, "Peter. Big fan. You're a legend. But you gotta get your hand off my sister."
Ryan Gosling, Jimmy Kimmel Sing 'You Always Hurt the One You Love' (VIDEO)
It was apparently Ryan Gosling's idea to play the ukulele in 'Blue Valentine.' The actor sings 'You Always Hurt the One You Love' to Michelle Williams' character at the beginning of the film. Gosling and Jimmy Kimmel performed a duet version on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC), though it was obviously Kimmel's idea to hog the spotlight."You're the only one that gets the stool?" asked Gosling, standing next to the host. He answered, "We've just got the one stool." Gosling began the song, then Kimmel chimed in, moving toward the camera and blocking view of Gosling. "You always take the sweetest rose and crush it..." sang Kimmel (badly). Gosling protested, but Kimmel proceeded to move around the stage, the spotlight only on him.
Stump the King - Michael Chiklis
I got another letter from an eager TV fan looking for information last week,
Tracy writes:
"In the late ninties their was a tv show on (upn?) about a bunch of high school students who attended highschool on a cruise ship while traveling the world.
I thought Kathrine Hiegl and or Ryan Gosling (possibly Ben Foster) were on it but none of their IMDB credits list it. Any clue what the show was called or who really was on it?"
Well, Tracy, I'm not sure about Katherine Heigl but Ryan Gosling was definitely on a show you described called Breaker High.
On to this week's question...
Stephen Colbert one of GQ's Men of the Year
Colbert Report host Stephen Colbert has been named one of GQ's "Men of the Year" in the December issue, on sale later this week.
Other celebs named include Will Ferrell, Jay-Z, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling, and Burberry designer Christopher Bailey. Ferrell, Jay-Z, and DiCaprio are going to be three different covers that the magazine is putting out for the issue. The mag even names DiCaprio the "Actor Of Our Time." Is that accurate? Is Leonardo DiCaprio the actor of our time? And for that matter, is Ferrell the "Comic Of Our Time" and Jay-Z the "Musician Of Our Time?"
For the record, I was going to be photographed for the issue too, but decided that I didn't want to be reduced to just another pretty boy to be gawked at in the pages of the glossy monthly magazine.
