That report has since been confirmed by 'The Hollywood Reporter,' which spoke to multiple sources who said that the meeting did indeed take place, but that it was part of ongoing discussions with Seacrest.
Executives who reportedly attended the meeting included 'Today' executive producer Jim Bell, NBC News President Steve Capus and senior vice president for marketing and communications Lauren Kapp.
Now she has spoken candidly to her 'E! News' co-host Ryan Seacrest about her diagnosis and her decision to take something so private and place it out there in the public domain.
Speaking to Seacrest via satellite from New York Monday night Rancic said that she was "a nervous wreck" before going on-air, but that she's glad she did it.
"I feel like such a heavy weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I've been keeping this secret from a lot of dear friends for a while now and it's nice to get it out there and not hide anymore."
Rancic also hopes that by going public with her battle she can help educate women about the importance of regular breast exams and screening.
According to Hough, she could tell Seacrest was into her during a radio interview she did on his show. The only slightly awkward part was that she was there with her then-boyfriend at the time.
According to EW, Cyrus' character is a country star. He's really working those acting chops, huh? His episode will air in November.
Cyrus hosts TLC's 'Surprise Homecoming' and is at work on a Syfy reality series about urban legends. His last acting role was in Disney's 'Hannah Montana.'

"It's meant for the kids to come down and use," he explained. "They can be a DJ or a host, they can be interviewed, they can interview each other. And also we'll have celebrity guests stop by and perform for them. But I wanted to come up with something that they can do while they're here, because some of them are here for quite a while."
The first of those celebrity guests was schedule to stop in Friday for a surprise visit, except it didn't surprise AJ, one of the kids at the hospital, who knew it would be Selena Gomez. "I said, 'That not a surprise if you know already. How did you find out?'" Seacrest asked AJ. Turns out a construction worker told him "by accident." AJ may have a future in investigative journalism.
Now one report says that the morning show's distributors, Disney-ABC Domestic Television, have narrowed the field to just three candidates.
According to 'The Wall Street Journal,' those candidates are: TV hosts Ryan Seacrest ('American Idol') and Andy Cohen ('Watch What Happens Live'), and co-host Kelly Ripa's husband, actor and TV host Mark Consuelos ('All My Children').
In contrast to the 79-year old Philbin, they're all relatively young, with Cohen the oldest at age 43. All three are veterans of hosting live TV, and both Cohen and Consuelos have filled in for Philbin recently.
The 'WSJ' reports that producers plan to reboot 'Live!' once Philbin steps down in November. So who's got the edge?
But not before Nicole Scherzinger and 50 Cent, accompanied by a very loud smoke machine, took to the stage for our entertainment. Add J.J. Abrams and an Italian boy band to the mix and you've got yourself another totally random results show. Also on tap was a more extensive look at the Top 3 homecoming visits this past weekend.
After Scotty McCreery got rave reviews for tackling Kenny Rogers' 'She Believes in Me,' Ryan Seacrest threw it out to his dad in the audience to get a handle on what it's like as the father of a teenage boy to see your son competing at this level.
"Words really can't describe how proud we all are of him," his father said in a low voice much like his famous son's.
'American Idol' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET on FOX.
As everyone knows by now, Seacrest is working toward becoming the king of all media, but even a king has to start somewhere. One of his earliest forays into television hosting was a show on the old Family Channel called 'Wild Animal Games.'
When asked about the footage, Seacrest joked, "I've gotten rid of all of it. I've hired a lot of people to get rid of it."
Teri Hatcher and Ryan Seacrest? There have been rumors the two were dating, something Hatcher disputed today on 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated). Hatcher explained the two were set up on a blind date by a friend whom Hatcher said is now "off the blind date list."
Hatcher looked like she just wanted to put the whole thing behind her. "It was years ago," she said. "It's fine. He's fine. He's great." Williams pressed for details, including what Hatcher wore and whether the date was painful and long. Hatcher said it was fine and ended in a little peck of a kiss.
"You didn't know he was rich at the time," said Williams. "No, I didn't know photographers were shooting," Hatcher responded. Keeping photographers busy is just one of Seacrest's many jobs.
According to Perez Hilton, the legendary Fleetwood Mac singer-songwriter will take to the 'Idol' stage for what promises to be an epic performance.
There's been no word yet if we'll get to see a Stevie-Gaga duet, but it's likely that many minds will be blown by just the possibility of such a spectacular hook-up.
And that's not all Lady Gaga will be doing on 'Idol.' According to host Ryan Seacrest, the 'Born This Way' singer will be next week's mentor.
Th New York Post broke the news, yesterday, that Seacrest's production company is partnering with NBC on a new music talent show. Sounds exciting, but what about that old music talent show, he's still hosting, 'American Idol'?
The Fox ratings workhorse may not occupy the same space in the pop culture zeitgeist it once did, in this post-'Glee' world, but that doesn't make it any less of a hit, ten years after its premiere. The news of Seacrest's big plans certainly begs some big questions, however. Though details on the deal are sparse, here's what we do know and how it might affect the show that made him a star, 'American Idol.'
According to PEOPLE, Scherzinger will join judges Antonio "L.A." Reid and Cowell himself on the U.S. version of the hit U.K. show, with the third judging slot yet to be filled.
Cowell appeared on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show in March and dished about Scherzinger, saying, "I absolutely adore her. She's gorgeous and ruthlessly ambitious."
But that wasn't the only surprise, as there were several great performances, including a medley duet by former 'American Idol' winner Underwood and fresh-faced 'Idol' judge Steven Tyler.
He first joined her on-stage for her hit 'Undo It,' but soon they broke into Aerosmith's signature song 'Walk This Way,' where Underwood reminded us of that great rock edge her voice has.
During the elimination, he positioned them on stage just so and then told them they weren't safe tonight. "I mean, you're really not safe," he said, stepping back as the doors opened behind the pair.
Standing there was Hulk Hogan, who came out with good news and bad news. Durbin was on his knees in shock and excitement at seeing one of his wrestling heroes in the flesh. To make the moment sweeter, Hogan revealed that both he and McDonald were safe. It was Seacrest, the Hulkster was after!
'American Idol' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET on FOX.
