S02E22
Criminal Minds: Legacy
(S02E22) It's not often that Criminal Minds disappoints me. So when it does happen, it's a little unsettling because the show is generally so good.
There's really no better way to put it other than I didn't like this episode one bit. It was bland, unimaginative, and to be perfectly honest... it felt like a total rip-off of the Saw films. A sadistic killer, ridding the world of people who aren't living their lives to the fullest potential. A "house-cleaner" as Morgan put it. Big deal.
CSI: NY - Heroes
(S02E23) I was looking forward to and dreading this episode all at the same time. After last week's previews, we already knew what was in store for former Detective Aiden Burn, but I didn't want to accept it. She was a great character in the first season and it was too bad that she was written out of the show. Although, I remember reading somewhere that she requested it. So in that sense, I suppose this was a logical storyline and it was nice that it tied up the questions that have been hanging around since the second episode of this season.
After Aiden was fired by Mac at the beginning of the season, supposedly she was going to pursue her private investigator's license. Instead, she set up shop in her apartment (she had a mini crime scene lab it seems) and continued to track down DJ Pratt to bust him for all the rapes he had committed. We knew Pratt was smart though. After all, he's been covering his tracks and alluding arrest for years now. So it only makes sense that he'd catch on if someone was watching him regularly. Aiden had a goal though and she knew what had to be done.
House: Forever
(S02E22) Gregory House is right up there on the list of people I want to be. There's something to be said about pulling off that whole "likable jackass" thing. That and the flawless even-length beard stubble. I'd say that I've found a new hero... but that would mean setting aside Jack Bauer and I think most people will agree with me that I'd be in for a good ol' butt kicking if I made Jack Bauer play second fiddle to House on my list of TV heroes.
Well, on to the episode. Well written and incredibly funny as usual. I always feel bad when I laugh as House makes a joke at the expense of a cancer patient or an elderly woman... but I suppose that's the beauty of it. Anyway, Foreman is back at work but the team is still one short since Chase requested some time away from House to work in the NICU for a few weeks. House doesn't seem to think it's because of him though. Naturally, he snoops around but that wasn't the only thing on his radar.
Numb3rs: Backscatter
(S02E22) Well that was tense. Note to self: I don't ever want to be targeted by the Russian mob. After watching this episode, I get the feeling that it may get in the way doing certain things that I enjoy. Such as living.
After busting a couple of "phishers," Don suddenly finds that his bank accounts have been cleared out. Phishing, by the way, is the term given to sending out phony mass e-mails from banks to lure people into sending in their banking information. Elderly folks are generally targeted because they tend to have larger accounts that aren't used so often. That and many of them don't get this whole "internet" thing that much.
The two computer geeks give up the names of the Russians, but then they somehow make bail (I missed how that happened). Afterwards, their bodies were found underneath a bridge. Again, Russian mob. Bad.
