Larry King, Sanjay Gupta, Craig Ferguson Consider a Joint Comedy Tour (VIDEO)
by Aimee Deeken, posted Mar 30th 2011 6:40AM
While Dr. Sanjay Gupta discussed the earthquake in Japan, Larry King listened intently. Both were guests on 'The Late Late Show' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS). Gupta explained that the earthquake occurred 30 hours into the first family vacation the CNN medical correspondent had had in years. "My wife just looked at me and she said, 'You're gonna go, aren't you?'""Larry's had a couple of wives who've said to him, 'You're gonna go, aren't you?'" the host quipped.
King grinned and countered, "These past three minutes have been the most serious three minutes in six years of this show ... So why do you go off tangent like that?"
Before long the three men were trading barbs and thinking about taking their act on the road. "A Scotsman, an Indian and a Jew!" said Ferguson. "All we have to do is walk into a bar, and there's the set!" So how 'bout it: Any interest in the Ferguson-Gupta-King Comedy Tour?
Anderson Cooper Heads Back to Haiti, Tries to Make People Care
by Hemal Jhaveri, posted Feb 9th 2010 5:07PM

Late Sunday, Anderson Cooper and fellow part-time hero / full-time correspondent Sanjay Gupta tweeted that they were going back to Haiti. Almost a month after a major quake destroyed the capital, most news crews and their high profile reporters have long since packed up and left. Haiti is no longer front page news and that makes Cooper's return all the more interesting.
It's no secret that CNN sees a spike in viewing during disasters, so is the network just milking the tragedy for ratings? Is it a genuine plea for a people forgotten by the news cycle? Or is it just good journalism?
