Sara Breaks Down Crying Over Her Childhood on 'Work of Art' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 3rd 2011 7:30AM
'Work of Art: The Next Generation'This week, the artists were given an extra challenge on 'Work of Art: The Next Great Artist' (Wed., 9PM ET on Bravo), and they had an extra judge to impress in Sarah Jessica Parker. They were paired, for the week, with a child. They then had to create a piece of art to complement a piece of art the children had already created.

Sara struggled considerably with the task because it brought up painful memories of her own childhood, as evidenced by her complete emotional breakdown during the judging of her final piece.

Michelle Trachtenberg on 'Weeds,' Returning to 'Gossip Girl' & Her Showbiz Role Model

by Jean Bentley, posted Sep 12th 2011 12:00PM
Michelle TrachtenbergLet's get this straight: Michelle Trachtenberg only plays a pot dealer on TV. If you happen to overhear the actress discussing her side job while walking down the street, know that it's only her role as college student Emma on the seventh season of 'Weeds' that she's talking about.

Emma has caused plenty of trouble for the fresh-outta-prison Nancy Botwin (Mary Louise Parker), as the two women fight over the same New York City territories for their dueling weed businesses. "Emma is probably just as ruthless as Nancy is, except without as much of the experience," Trachtenberg told AOL TV when she called us last week to discuss her 'Weeds' guest arc.

Below, the 25-year-old actress expounds on what it's like to deal drugs (fictionally, of course), hooking up with Hunter Parrish and the A-list star she's modeling her career after.

Sarah Jessica Parker Got Sneak Peek Inside Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 8th 2011 3:44AM
Sarah Jessica Parker, 'Late Show with David Letterman'Fame can have its advantages, and Sarah Jessica Parker wasn't one to miss an opportunity to use hers to help her out. When she was in Moscow recently, she'd intended to visit the Bolshoi Theatre, only to find it was still closed for renovations.

But, as she revealed on 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS), she didn't let that stop her.

She wooed a security guard, who was a fan, into letting her in. They took her camera and wanted to take everything because "it hasn't opened and there's a reveal to happen, [but] not with my camera," she explained.

But she convinced them to let her keep her Blackberry and took pictures despite their protests. "I took the verbal abuse off this man," she said. "Every time I took a picture he was like, 'Nyet!'"

The fashion industry's open house took place across the world -- from Milan, Moscow and London to New York City, Seattle and Los Angeles. Halle Berry was one of many attendees. "I care about our economy, and a night like this sort of infuses some energy into our fashion industry," Berry said.

Lisa Kudrow Answers the Question: Who Do You Think You Are?

by Nick Zaino, posted Mar 4th 2010 2:03PM
Lisa Kudrow Who Do You Think You Are?You might say genealogical research runs in Lisa Kudrow's family. Long before the former 'Friends' star decided to bring the British TV show 'Who Do You Think You Are?' to American television, her father had already written a family tree that Kudrow says takes up roughly 46 pages.

Kudrow saw the long-running original show, which investigates the family history and genealogy of celebrities, when visiting Ireland, and decided to bring it to American audiences. The only question was, would she tell her own story on the show?

Guess who's coming to Sesame Street?

by Danny Gallagher, posted Jan 21st 2010 10:40PM
There are few signs in this crazy business that you have become an indelible and beloved member of the pop culture lexicon than getting a cameo appearance on an episode of Sesame Street. Case in point: Gallagher, O.J. Simpson and Kanye West have yet to appear on an episode of Sesame Street.

Well, would you want West teaching your kids the difference between "near" and "far," things that are yellow and why George Bush hates black people?

Some upcoming episodes of the long running PBS kids' show will include appearances by Christina Applegate on Jan. 25, Hugh Jackman on Jan. 27, Debi Mazar and Sarah Jessica Parker on Feb. 16 and Paul Rudd and Eva Longoria-Parker on Feb. 18.

The Roots Release EP of Music From 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'

by Meg Prossnitz, posted Dec 21st 2009 2:45PM
The Roots on Late Night with Jimmy FallonYou could call 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' the first fully interactive late-night television program. Since its inception in the form of webisodes asking viewers to pick out the show's logo, the show has practically broken the fourth wall with the number of behind-the-scenes peeks it offers.

House band The Roots is largely to thank for that. During the changing of the guard -- er, host -- Max Weinberg advised drummer/bandleader Questlove (Ahmir Thompson) that his band had worked with five songs during its first two weeks of the show with Conan O'Brien. Now, nine months into its new day job, The Roots has recorded 1,000 of its bite-size "sandwiches" (so called because they're played before and after segments on the show). To celebrate, the band has released an EP of the tunes, which are often influenced by the guests themselves.
