TV Moment of 2009: 'Seinfeld' Reunion on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'

by Meg Prossnitz, posted Dec 27th 2009 9:00AM
Larry David -- Curb Your EnthusiasmIt wouldn't be a new season of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' without Larry David doing something with a self-serving purpose.

After running into Cheryl and discovering that she liked things better when Larry had a job, Larry becomes enthusiastic about a 'Seinfeld' reunion, though he has a hard time convincing Jerry of his change of heart.

When the reunion gets picked up, Larry comes up with another one of his wacky schemes -- this time, to cast Cheryl as Amanda, George Costanza's ex-wife. This weaves in the running gag that barely any of that cast, especially Jason, realize: that George is based on Larry. Luckily for Larry, the scheme doesn't blow up in his face like it usually does.

'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Season 7 Episode 10 - The 'Seinfeld' Reunion (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Nov 23rd 2009 10:16AM
It sure was satisfying to see the cast of 'Seinfeld' come together for a reunion on the season finale of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,' even if it only was a ruse by Larry David to win ex-wife Cheryl back by giving her a part in the show.

For many fans, the show-within-a-show reunion gives us the kind of ending we hoped for but didn't receive in the original series finale when the 'Seinfeld' crew is revealed as hopelessly self-centered and gets tossed in jail.

Does anyone in Hollywood not play professional poker?

by Danny Gallagher, posted Oct 13th 2009 8:01PM
I'm starting to wonder if TV and movie stars playing poker is more than just an interesting trend. Maybe it's a requirement.

Jason Alexander recently popped up on my TV, not in a Seinfeld rerun or his recent appearance on Curb Your Enthusiasm but in the most recent World Series of Poker. And it didn't look as though he was there playing with his own money. He appeared to have his own sponsor and everything.

Here is ESPN's coverage of Alexander's elimination from the tournament. Watch for the fan at the end who accidentally calls him George. It's cringe-tastic.

The Seinfeld reunion on Curb will be about a Seinfeld reunion - TCA Report

by Joel Keller, posted Jul 30th 2009 9:59PM
Larry DavidIf the meta-ness of my headline confuses you, I apologize. It's the best way I could phrase it, because it's kind of mind-blowing in concept.

At today's HBO session at the TCAs, Larry David came on stage to talk about the upcoming season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. In it, as we all know, he'll be reuniting the Seinfeld cast on the show. And what will they be doing? They'll be working on... a Seinfeld reunion episode.

"The context is that for years I've been asked about a Seinfeld reunion," said David, "and i'd say no it's a lame idea. And then i thought it might be very funny to do that on Curb, and I kept thinking about it and different scenarios of how to pull it off."

When he talked to Jerry Seinfeld and the cast about it, they were all game. "So doiung a Seinfeld reunion show on Curb we'll see writing read through rehersals show being filmed. You won't see the entire show, you'll see parts of the show get an idea of what happened eleven years later."
