Kathie Lee and Hoda Head To Jamaica for Rum, Coconuts, Shaggy Jokes (VIDEO)
Kathie Lee Gifford brought her full compliment of double entendres to Jamaica as she and Hoda Kotb appeared on one of the island's most popular television programs, 'Smile Jamaica.' The segment appeared on Thursday's 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) and featured Gifford and Kotb wearing dresses inspired by the Jamaican flag, as well as a hang-out session out with singer Shaggy.Gifford apologized for letting the flag drag. "Well my coconuts were hanging kind of low," she said, "so the flag was almost dragging to the floor. That's a crime in America. I don't know how they feel about that in Jamaica but I felt bad about that. I needed a crane to hold up those coconuts."
Ro-kay, rets Scooby-Doo ourselves!
First we had Mad Men Yourself, where you can make 1960s-ish, retro-looking avatars for yourself, and now comes Scooby-Doo Yourself. It's a promotion for the new prequel movie Scooby-Doo: The Mystery Begins, which premieres this Sunday on Cartoon Network.Unlike the Mad Men version, where you could just create your own from a series of options on the screen, you have to upload a good picture of yourself and it will make you into a Scooby-Doo character.
On a side note, is that supposed to be Fred in the pic??
How did the Scooby gang get together anyway?
Live action Scooby Doo coming to TV and DVD
Just in case the first two Scooby Doo movies left you with unanswered questions, there is some good news. A third movie is in the works and this one will be direct-to-TV-and-DVD.The new movie is intended as a prequel and will be called Scooby Doo: In The Beginning. It will star lesser-known actors (and by lesser I mean virtually not known at all) since the original actors have moved on with their careers. It will be about the Scooby Gang solving mysteries together for the first time.
Ruh roh, Raggy! Scooby-Doo returns to Saturday morning TV
There are some
cartoon characters that have a permanent shield of double-thick steel around them. When you think they're finally gone,
they come back in a new form.
Take our pal Scooby-Doo, for example. Scooby and his Mystery Inc. friends have been with us since 1969. That's 37 years, kids; 259 in dog years (you knew I had to throw in that joke, didn't ya?). Since then he's been paired with Fred, Daphne, and Velma, the Scooby-Doobies (From Laff-a-Lympics), Dynomutt, Vincent Price and, ahem, Scrappy-Doo. After leaving Saturday mornings in the late '80s, he returned with the entire Mystery Inc in What's New Scooby-Doo for the Kids WB.
Now he's back again in this fall's 'Kids WB on the CW' (catchy, ain't it?) in Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue. In this show... well, perhaps you should jump to find out what it's all about, and also see some of the other new series premiering next fall on Kids WB.
