Development News: Coen Brothers Head to TV, Jon Favreau Sells Comedy & Drama Scripts

The Coen brothers are entering new territory: TV.According to the Hollywood Reporter, the iconic film creators are working on a new project for Fox. The project, 'Harve Karbo,' is a single-camera hour-long comedy project Joel and Ethan Coen co-created with writer Phil Johnson.
'Harve Karbo' follows a private investigator based in Los Angeles. The main character's cases usually put famous Hollywood faces in his crosshairs.
The Coen brothers, Johnson, Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo will executive produce the project. Johnson, writer of 'Cedar Rapids,' will pen the pilot.

ABC Picks Up Comedy From 'Friends' Writer

ABC is keeping its 'Friends' close.The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the network has picked up a new comedy series from 'Friends' writer Shana Goldberg-Meehan. The untitled project, previously titled 'Leap Frogs,' is said to be about two sisters who are in drastically different stages in their lovelives.
Goldberg-Meehan will be on familiar territory at ABC, which also houses the Courteney Cox comedy 'Cougar Town' (just renewed for a second season) and the upcoming series 'Mr. Sunshine,' starring Matthew Perry.
