'The Big Bang Theory' - 'The Spaghetti Catalyst' Recap
by Brad Trechak, posted May 3rd 2010 10:32PM
(S03E20) So now we have our first post-relationship episode between Leonard and Penny and, as anticipated, things are awkward. While it was unquestionable that the relationship would not last and that the duo was simply not meant for each other, there is still the issue of them still living across the hall in the same building. The episode felt somewhat low-key, particularly after three weeks of no 'BBT.' Obviously, after the break-up in the last episode (which can be subtitled 'Wil Wheaton Is Evil'), there is nowhere to go between Leonard and Penny but up.
What Would 'The Big Bang Theory' Be Like Without the Laugh Track?
by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 4th 2010 2:26PM
I love seeing TV shows and movies with something taken away from them. Even comic strips, as 'Garfield Minus Garfield' shows, can become completely different when seen in a different context.
This video is a scene from 'The Big Bang Theory' with the laugh track taken out. It gives you a little hint as to what a show with a big laugh track is like with the laughs taken out. Without the laughs (and the build up to them), the lines suddenly seem more...intense and weighty (I guess it doesn't help that you don't know what came before this scene if you haven't seen it before). Is it a Big Bang surprise for Sheldon?
by Allison Waldman, posted Dec 9th 2009 11:45AM
The world has fallen in love with The Big Bang Theory. That's no big shock here at TV Squad. Most of us have been swooning for the show since it began. However, now the Nielsen ratings are starting to reflect our enthusiasm. Monday night's episode of Big Bang was a series high, and surpassed Two and a Half Men, its lead-in and the anchor of CBS's sitcom stable. Until now. For the record, in the 18-49 rating, Big Bang had a 5.7; Men had a 5.1. In total viewers, the Chuck Lorre comedy hour of Men and Bang drew approximately 15 million watchers. Now, if you're curious about the upcoming episode, read on. However, if you don't want to be spoiled or listen to some speculation, stop here.
Jim Parsons on Friday Night Lights? If he had his way...
by Allison Waldman, posted Sep 20th 2009 5:08PM
If Jim Parsons wins the Emmy tonight for The Big Bang Theory, you better believe he'll be in a position to pick and choose the projects he does in the future. But here's one that I think would be fascinating, to quote Dr. Sheldon Cooper's favorite Vulcan scientist: Jim Parsons would like to appear on Friday Night Lights. In a recent interview, Jim was asked about his favorite current show -- other than his own -- and he said it was Friday Night Lights. That's right, the NBC drama series about high school football deep in the heart of Texas! Somehow it's hard to imagine Sheldon in pads and a helmet. Maybe he could be the water boy? Or the genius offensive coordinator.
Private Practice: Who is the father of Violet's baby?
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Apr 24th 2009 3:07PM
There is one episode left in this second season of Private Practice and we still don't know who is the father of Violet's baby is. Are you getting tired like me of this ongoing mystery? Since the reveal may happen during next week's season finale, it's time we make our predictions as to who is the father of the baby: Sheldon or Pete? Place your bets in our poll after the jump! The rest of the post contains information revealed in last night's episode so proceed with caution.
Does Big Bang's Sheldon have Asperger's syndrome?
by Joel Keller, posted Feb 9th 2009 11:02AM
One of last week's most entertaining web reads was an article in Slate about The Big Bang Theory. In it, writer Paul Collins expends about 1500 words wondering if Sheldon, the genius / social misfit played so ably by Jim Parsons, has Asperger's syndrome.I can just sense thousands of readers right now smacking their heads with their palms and going, "I knew it!" right now. And I bet right now you're also scrambling to Google the condition and see what the characteristics are. No need; they're right here. Just in that website's brief description, you can see a lot that goes into the character of Sheldon: affected speech patterns, a small and unexpandable circle of interest, and -- most of all -- difficult two-way social interaction. Seems like Sheldon to a T.
Seven odd duck TV crushes - VIDEO
by Jackie Schnoop, posted Dec 31st 2008 2:00PM
Yes, I am the odd duck. Well, wait. Perhaps it's not all just me. I mean, I'm talking some really odd duck television crushes I have. Some are odd because other folks might not understand such a crush. Others are odd when considered in correlation with me, in particular. And some are odd just because I'm odd and so are they.Of course, the duck in the image isn't so odd. I looked for an odd duck and kept thinking I didn't want my own image plastered here on the main page. So, we'll suffice with your basic common duck from New Jersey. He could be mob-related, so he could be a tad odd. Read on!
The Big Bang Theory is the new best lines machine
by Jackie Schnoop, posted Oct 3rd 2008 5:04PM
Years ago it was Seinfeld ruling the quotable roost in television sitcom world. You know you'll never forget "close talkers" or the meaning of "spongeworthy." But for the first time since then, I've found a show I truly think is quoteworthy. Its closet competitor lines-wise is How I Met Your Mother which follows it on Monday night. But The Big Bang Theory rules over that show these days for me. Some of Sheldon's (played stupendously by Jim Parsons) lines are a bit convoluted to remember and I really am not
Big Bang Theory: Where to find Sheldon's shirts
by Joel Keller, posted Jun 9th 2008 11:41AM
If you're a fan of The Big Bang Theory, you've probably wondered at some point where they get all the fun nerdy t-shirts that the character of Sheldon wears on the show. Well, I'm sure most of you, being internet-savvy and resourceful, have probably Googled each and every shirt and already have a spreadsheet up on Google Docs that is cross-referenced by episode and topic. But what about the lazy among us, who'd rather eat glass than stare at a spreadsheet all day?SheldonShirts.com comes to the rescue. It shows screen shots of every shirt Sheldon wears in each episode and where you can get that particular shirt. It also shows where you can get the shirts that the other main character, Leonard, wears, as well as the the belt buckles worn by their perverted buddy Howard. They also make some suggestions for shirts the nerd heroes should wear in the future, as well as provide links to some other stuff that was shown on the program. It's a good way to waste a couple of hours, whether you're a nerd, a geek, or neither. It's especially good for those who are need to find their favorite geek or nerd a birthday present. To those people, you're welcome in advance.
