'The Secret Circle' EP Andrew Miller Talks Overwhelming Fan Reaction, Cassie's Father & Nick's Bad Boy Brother
by Laura Prudom, posted Oct 19th 2011 4:15PM
Last week's shocking episode of 'The Secret Circle' (Thursdays, 9PM ET on The CW) elevated the supernatural drama series to a whole new level, proving that it's not afraid of killing off a beloved character to drive the story forward. Since then, fans have taken to message boards and Twitter to react to Nick's demise -- both positively and negatively (and loudly) -- and their passion has obviously taken the producers by surprise.Earlier this week, I spoke to executive producer Andrew Miller to gauge his reaction to the outpouring of online opinion -- suffice it to say, he's pleased. During our chat, Miller also touched on the ever-evolving love triangles that populate the show, discussed the arrival of Nick's troublemaking brother Jake (Chris Zylka), and teased a little more about the role Cassie's father will play in the ongoing story.
We also have an exclusive preview clip from this week's episode to whet your appetite for tomorrow night, so hit the jump for the video and our conversation with Miller. Warning: Spoilers ahead.
'The Secret Circle' Cast Talks Character Deaths, New Romance and Truth or Dare

One murky Vancouver evening in early October, a sodden group of out-of-towners stumbled through the densely-knit woods, seeking shelter from a sudden, brutal downpour that had caught them unprepared. The mud was caked up to their knees, the ground was treacherously slick, and the only solid structure in sight was a lake house belonging to a dead man.Unaware of the building's sinister history, the shivering procession snuck past cameramen, grips, PAs and boom operators to find refuge in the drafty basement, above which an oblivious coven of witches was engrossed in an alcohol-fueled game of Truth or Dare.
Just a typical night on the set of 'The Secret Circle.'
AOL TV (along with an intrepid band of fellow reporters) braved the rain -- both real and man-made -- to talk to the cast of the supernatural drama (which just received a full season pick up) while they shot on location at an atmospheric lakeside property. We grilled them on the show's ever-evolving love triangles, upcoming deaths, and the truth about Cassie's father. Spoilers ahead.
TCA Report: 'The Secret Circle' Explores Magic, Family and Love Triangles
by Laura Prudom, posted Aug 5th 2011 9:00AM
Executive producer Kevin Williamson and the CW might be two for two with the launch of 'The Secret Circle,' a bewitching new drama that will air Thursdays alongside 'The Vampire Diaries' this fall.Though both series are based on novels by LJ Smith, the world of the 'Secret Circle' witches will not intersect with the established magic in 'The Vampire Diaries' -- Williamson was fast to dispel any notion of a crossover between his supernatural dramas. "We need to start at ground zero and create our own story and create our own mythology and build from there, so that we can tell just as great a story as 'The Vampire Diaries'," he pointed out.
The series focuses on Cassie Blake (Britt Robertson), a seemingly normal teenager whose world is turned upside down by the mysterious death of her mother and her subsequent relocation to Chance Harbor, Washington -- a town where everyone seems to know her name, whether she likes it or not. Magic, murder and secrets spanning generations soon come to light.

'The Secret Circle' Cast Talks 'Vampire Diaries' Adoration, Witchcraft & Love (VIDEO)

Everybody on 'The Secret Circle' totally loves their boss, Kevin Williamson. The supernatural show's witchy trio of Jessica Parker Kennedy, Shelley Hennig and Phoebe Tonkin couldn't sing the man's praises enough at The CW's Upfronts red carpet in May. The same goes for stars Britt Robertson and Thomas Dekker.

In fact, Robertson said she didn't even read the script before wanting to do the series. " Kevin -- ugh, he's amazing," she told AOL TV. "Before even reading the script I was like 'I want to do this project' because he's such a talented human being and has such a vision and is a really exciting presence to work with."
'TSC' has plenty in common with The CW's other Williamson show, 'The Vampire Diaries' -- namely love triangles, attractive leads, supernatural occurrences and insane cliffhangers. Oh, the cliffhangers. "What's a show without cliffhangers?" asked Kennedy.
