It was inevitable that the 'Jersey Shore' starts would end up with their own MTV shows, right?

Not only is their highly rated reality series constantly playing on the network, the Macaroni Rascals also show up in various commercials (cashews, Miracle Whip, Xenadrine) and pop culture events (the roast of Donald Trump, Wrestlemania). Now, three of the party-loving reality stars will have shows of their own.

MTV announced today that it has ordered full, 12-episode seasons of two different 'Jersey Shore' spin-offs, one from DJ Pauly D and one from Snooki (aka Nicole Polizzi) and J-Woww (aka Jenni Farley).

"The 'Jersey Shore' cast is at the center of the show's ongoing success, and Nicole, Pauly D and Jenni have become household names as a result of their unique, sometimes outrageous and often hilarious personalities," said MTV exec Chris Linn in a statement. "We're excited to put the spotlight on their lives away from the shore as they pursue their individual passions, careers and relationships. Both series are fun, fresh ways for us to evolve what is an already successful brand for us."

Though 'Bones' creator Hart Hanson said today that he's in the middle of developing a spinoff from his hit show, there's one catch -- we haven't met the spinoff character just yet.

Deadline Hollywood reports that Hanson is behind the potential new series, which, like its predecessor, would be based on a book series. The spinoff would follow Walter Sherman, an eccentric man who can locate anything and the main character in Richard Greener's 'The Locator' series.

The yet-to-be-cast Sherman would know Booth from Iraq, and while he'd clash with the FBI agent, he'd intrigue Dr. Brennan.

Chris Mundy has been ousted as showrunner of the 'Criminal Minds' spinoff, leaving Ed Bernero to pull double duty on as head of both 'Minds' dramas.

Mundy served as a writer and co-executive producer on the original 'Criminal Minds' before being handed the reins of the spinoff. However, according to Deadline Hollywood, CBS was unhappy with the show's creative direction and brought in Bernero.

The spinoff, titled 'Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior' and starring Forest Whitaker and Janeane Garofalo, will begin a 13-episode run at midseason.

Variety has reported that Lifetime is looking to spin off its successful 'Army Wives' drama. The project, which is still in the nascent stages of development, will be created by 'Wives' writers, Bruce Zimmerman and T.D. Mitchell, and will focus on Brigid Brannagh's character, Pamela Moran.

The new series would position Pamela as divorced from Chase, her elite "Delta Force" husband, and re-joining the ranks of her old Charleston, S.C. police force.

Last September, Lifetime posted a "Which 'Wife' Should Get a Spin Off'" thread on its message boards. Pamela and Sally Pressman's single mom/bartender "Roxy," were cited most often as the characters viewers would like to see on a new show. Does this mean Roxy will be next? Stay tuned, true believers.

'Army Wives'' 4th season had a strong debut in April and, over the last two seasons, was the highest-rated original drama on basic cable within the coveted women 18-49 demographic.

Soon, every single show on CBS will be a spinoff from another show on the network. 'CSI,' 'CSI: Miami,' 'CSI: NY,' CSI: [Insert City Here],' 'NCIS,' 'NCIS: L.A.,' 'NCIS: CBS L.A.' Maybe there'll even a future spinoff of 'The Mentalist' where we follow another law enforcement consultant who used to scam people with a fake psychic act and now sleeps on a mattress on the floor and drinks a lot of tea.

But before that we have the spinoff of 'Criminal Minds' coming up. The April 7 episode of the show will serve as a pilot for a spinoff series that would star Forest Whitaker as FBI profiler Sam Cooper who forms his own team of independent investigators after being away for several years. I'm sure that mystery will serve as a big back story for the new show. TV Fanatic has a bunch of pics from the episode, which will also feature Michael Kelly, Beau Garrett, and Matt Ryan.

Despite low ratings and a mixed reception from genre fans, Syfy isn't ready to cash out its cubits and give up on 'Caprica' just yet.

Mark Stern, Syfy's EVP of original programming, told Airlock Alpha that the cable net is committed to the show "for the long haul."

Stern says Syfy wasn't expecting the 'Battlestar Galactica' prequel series to become a hit right out of the gate, not even with fans of Ron Moore's celebrated sci-fi show.

"It's not 'Battlestar Galactica,' it's its own animal. And we definitely recognize that it's going to find its audience and it's going to grow its audience," he said.

Forest Whitaker has found his Beau.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Beau Garrett has been cast as the female lead in the untitled 'Criminal Minds' spinoff. She'll play Gina, Cooper's (Whitaker) loyal agent who has just been recruited from the FBI.

The model-actress has done a few acting gigs on the small screen, including roles in 'House' and 'Entourage.' In movies, she's co-starred in 'Made of Honor,' opposite 'Grey's Anatomy''s Patrick Dempsey, and the upcoming 'Tron Legacy,' due out this year.

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse have said that when Lost ends, there won't be a spinoff, a sequel, or even a feature film based on the show. When it's done, it's done.

ABC never got that memo.

The network says that they want to keep the show going in some way, and besides special DVDs and movies, there might also be a spinoff TV show that features new characters and a new plot. [Insert heavy sigh here.] Haven't they ever seen AfterMASH or The Golden Palace?

While it's true that a spinoff can be good and successful (we talked about that yesterday), most are ill-conceived and just a way for a network to keep a franchise going for ratings and $$$$$$. These seems like one of those situations.

If you're a fan of Top Chef, there's nothing tougher for the contestants than desserts. Just this past week during 'restaurant wars,' did you notice that one team decided to have no desserts on their menu at all. They just didn't want to risk blowing it.

Well, Bravo noticed, not just last week but all through the Top Chef series. Bravo's creating a Top Chef spinoff called Just Desserts in which chefs will have no choice, they'll have to deal with sugar, icing, cakes and struedels.

Top Chef: Just Desserts is the second Top Chef spinoff, after Top Chef Masters. I'm anticipating Top Chef: Maitre D's down the road, aren't you?

Oh, no. Please. CBS, please don't. I know it's tempting when you see the NCIS: LA ratings -- number two for last week, topped only by NCIS! -- but please, refrain. What am I talking about? CBS is pushing a spinoff of Criminal Minds, asking the show's executive producer Ed Bernero and executive producer Chris Mundy to come up with a variation on Criminal Minds. Hmm... Criminal Minds 2.0? Son of Criminal Minds? Criminal Guts?

Happy or not that The CW will air a new version of Melrose Place, you must admit that you'll at least watch the premiere out of curiosity, especially if you watched the first show.

Tidbits about the show released these past weeks will have viewers tune in to know how the show will revive Sydney, a very much dead character played by Laura Leighton on the original series.

If that mystery is not enough to get you to tune in on Tuesday, September 8 at 9 p.m., maybe the new spoilers and casting information below will.

Leo G. Carroll did it in 1966. Lisa Bonet sort of did it in 1987. What am I talking about? Double duty. That is, playing the same role on two series which are running at the same time. There are probably quite a few other instances, but Leo was head man Mr. Waverly on both The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and The Girl from U.N.C.L.E. for a year, and Lisa was Denise Huxtable in college (A Different World) and when she came home to visit the family in Brooklyn on The Cosby Show.

Now, Rocky Carroll will appear on both NCIS shows. Doing double duty makes perfect sense for the NCIS twosome, especially since they're going to be airing back to back on Tuesday, 8-10 P.M.

Next Wednesday, CBS will be announcing its schedule for the new season, and while rumors have swirled that Cold Case or Without A Trace might be on the chopping block -- despite good ratings -- one sure thing seems to be the spinoff from NCIS.

Well, now that I've seen the two-part NCIS episode that served as a pilot for the show, I'm hoping that CBS gives this new series a thumbs-down. I don't expect that to happen, but if it were my decision, I wouldn't dump a solid series with a loyal viewership like Cold Case or Without A Trace, for the hope of LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell's overly fussy, overly procedural NCIS derivative step-child.

After weeks, if not months, of hearing about it, we finally saw what the Gossip Girl spin off could be like. Set in the 80s, the spin off would star Brittany Snow as a young Lily, Krysten Ritter as her sister Carol, and Andrew McCarthy as their father. The action would, as expected, follow Lily's life as a young woman trying to make sense of the world and find her place in it.

This past week, the Internet has been filled with reports that the potential spin off was dead even before this week's episode aired. Other reports claimed that there was still a chance for the spin off to be picked up and find its way on The CW's 2009-2010 schedule. How about we don't listen to those reports and make our own decision on if the network should give the spin off a chance?
