A Break in the Case of Jonathan's Lineage on 'Bored to Death' (VIDEO)
It was good news and bad news for Jonathan all night long on 'Bored to Death' (Mon., 9PM ET on HBO). First, the hot girl who hooked up with him to continue his search for information about his true father slept with him. That was great news. Then, she proved to be a far more effective sleuth than him, as well as more savvy and focused in interrogation situations. All around, she was a pretty impressive woman. But they hit a seeming dead end when the sleazy former owner (Stacy Keach) of the sperm bank their mothers went to said he lost all the records. That was bad news.
The Men of FX's 'Lights Out' Preview the Show (VIDEO)
Call it a knockout. Maybe refer to it as a one-two punch of dramatic goodness. Whatever boxing pun you choose, 'Lights Out' is exactly that -- lights out fantastic.

Picking up five years after heavyweight champ Patrick "Lights" Leary was knocked out in the last round and forced into retirement, we find Lights struggling with money, health and family issues, and possibly considering a comeback.
And who doesn't love a comeback? Stars Holt McCallany, Pablo Schreiber and Stacy Keach stepped in the ring to tell me about their new FX show (premieres Tues., Jan. 11, 10PM ET).
Review: Two and a Half Men - Yay, No Polyps

(S07E13) There was a strange break in this episode of Two and a Half Men, like it might have been written by a couple of people who weren't communicating with each other at the time. For the most part, one half of it was very funny. For the other part, however, the jokes were lame and the situation strained. It all added up to an odd night, which is probably kind of how Charlie felt when he got himself cornered into a tricky situation. More after the jump.
Meteor: Part 1 - open thread
Now we have another movie about two large meteors coming to Earth to cause havoc called Meteor, only this time it's on television and it's a miniseries and it stars Christopher Lloyd, Stacy Keach, and Jason Alexander. What did you think? Here's Part 1 if you missed it (Part 2 airs next week).
Actor Stacy Keach in the hospital - VIDEO
One of television's longest and hardest working actors is in the hospital. Stage, screen and television actor Stacy Keach suffered a stroke and has been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital for observation.
Fortunately, it doesn't appear to be life threatening or extremely serious. His reps characterized the stroke as "very mild" and said it has not impaired or affected his speech "whatsoever." That's good news since he's still working on the stage and screen.
The Simpsons: Marge and Homer Turn a Couple Play (finale)
(S17E22)
Buck Mitchell [after causing the Duff blimp to crash]: This is the worst blimp crash ever!
Grandpa: Too soon!
Okay, that exchange cracked me up, as did a few other moments during this episode, such as the television show "Hunch" the family watches in the beginning of the episode which list JD Salinger as a writer in the closing credits. I also liked the "Sexy Marriage Land" song performed by Tabitha Vixx (voiced by Mandy Moore), and Homer becoming indignant towards Marge because she insists on judging him on things he's done, which is so totally unfair.
Prison Break and Invasion both coming to DVD in August
August is turning out to be a big month for TV on DVD
releases. We've already reported that both Surface and The Weird Al Show will be
released that month, and now comes word of two current shows that will have their first seasons released. The first season of Invasion is coming on August 22, with 50 minutes of extras, while the first season of Prison Break is coming even earlier, on August 8, with an unbelievable amount of extras.
ABC bird flu movie to scare us even further
Lately, there
isn't a day that goes by where we don't here something about the bird flu that may, or may not, be passed along to
humans. Not to get too freaky, but experts are saying that a worst case scenario would be 20 million Americans
affected, 2 million dead, schools and businesses shutdown to prevent the spread of the disease. So, you would think
that the networks' entertainment divisions would give us something light and fluffy to keep our minds off of this
fact.
Um, apparently not.
Disney-owned ABC, who gave us the nuclear war disaster movie The Day After back in the 1980's, will air Fatal Contact: Bird Flu in America during the May sweeps period. The movie will star Stacy Keach, Joely Richardson, Ann Cusack and Justine Machado, and will ask the question 'What if bird flu was transmitted to humans in America?'. The producers say they made the movie because of its topicality.
Personally, I'll be skipping this movie and look for some more gentle fare, like 10.5:Apocalypse on NBC.
