Anderson Cooper on GOP Debate: Personal Attacks 'Caught Us by Surprise' (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 27th 2011 6:30PM
Anderson Cooper was the moderator, in name anyway, of the most recent Republican Debate, which got contentious and personal as Rick Perry took numerous shots at front-runner Mitt Romney. Cooper went on 'Good Day LA,' (weekdays, 7AM PT on Fox) and explained how the debate went from his perspective.

"It caught a lot of us by surprise, just the personal nature of some of the attacks," he said. "They're not children, it's not my job to jump in and say, 'Don't do the strategy that you want to do," he continued, perhaps pushing back on the criticism that he should have done more to step in-between some of the jabs being thrown.

Rhea Pearlman Jokes About Playing Kirstie Alley's Mother-in-Law on 'The Manzanis' (VIDEO)

by Stephanie Opella, posted Oct 20th 2011 7:00PM
Rhea Perlman has a lot going on these days. She visited 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 9 AM PT on Fox) to talk about her upcoming Hallmark Channel movie 'Oliver's Ghost,' in which she plays the neighbor of a boy who moves to the suburbs and sees ghosts. She reassured everyone that it's a family film, but when Steve Edwards asked her if it was too scary for her husband Danny DeVito, she joked, "Danny's very delicate. I have to be careful with him."

Perlman was also excited about another upcoming project, a sitcom called 'The Manzanis' where she'll be reuniting with her former 'Cheers' co-star Kirstie Alley. Perlman said her role as Alley's mother-in-law is one she was born to play. When Edwards asked her if they were about the same age, she joked, "I have no idea how old she is and I certainly have no idea how old I am."

Rob Kardashian Insists He Doesn't Care About Reality TV Fame (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 18th 2011 2:30PM
Rob Kardashian insists he doesn't care about reality TV fame. "I'm not like my sisters, I'm different, I'm just not out there, I'm a homebody," he told 'Good Day L.A.' (weekdays, 7AM PT on Fox). But yet, after being born into reality TV royalty, he's chosen to pull double-duty on 'Dancing With the Stars.'

Rob remains conflicted about his newfound 'Dancing' fame. When Jillian Barberie pointed out that his whole life is now camera, he replied, "I know, I hate all that ... I wish the cameras weren't there, I'd do better." He's also eschewing traditional 'Dancing' norms by shooting down rumors that he's dating his partner Cheryl Burke. "No, I keep it strictly ... I just want her to teach me to do well," he said, before both Barberie and Steve Edwards finished his thought with the phrase "strictly ballroom!"

As Ricki Lake sat down to chat with 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 9AM PT on Fox) she pulled up her leg and showed off her 'Dancing With the Stars' war-wounds as if it was a scene from 'Jaws.' "The thing is, I am not a dancer," she said, even though one of her very first roles was in 'Hairspray' and she currently finds herself in first place in the competition.

Nonetheless, Lake is still surprised to be leading the pack. "I was hoping to stay into the competition and get in as good a shape as possible. I wanted to be in the middle of the pack."

Matt Passmore of 'The Glades' on 'Good Day LA'Steve Edwards, anchor of 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 9AM PT on Fox) is a big fan of 'The Glades.' In an interview on Wednesday, he told 'Glades' star Matt Passmore that he'd seen every episode of the show, and gushed about the characters and their relationships, especially the chemistry between Passmore's Jim Longworth and Kiele Sanchez's Callie Cargill.

Passmore said 'Glades' creator and writer Clifton Campbell had written the relationship between Longworth and Cargill to be complex. "Most television, especially procedurals, work on just a simmering tension," he said. "Ours isn't so much about tension but about obstacles. So already it's, you know, guy meets girl, guy finds out that girl is married to a guy in prison, has a child, and all the complexities that come with that."
