Dvico has released the FusionHDTV7 PCI express card, which is a dual HD TV tuner. Dvico claims that this is the first PCIe card capable of recording two HDTV channels (either digital or QAM) at the same time, and I can't think of any others off the top of my head, so I'm going to agree that this is at least one of the first. Like most HDTV tuner cards these days, the FusionHDTV7 can tune into either digital ATSC broadcats or analog NTSC signals.

The card allows you to record two shows at once, record one show while watching a live program on anothr channel, or view Picture-in-picture videos. Of course, you can get all of the same features by buying two cards, but at about $140, the FusionHDTV is probably cheaper than picking up two other cards. And it takes up less space in your PC.

Observant readers will note that every time I've mentioned the upcoming Hauppauge HD-PVR, I've slapped an image of the Hauppauge logo on the post. That's because up until now Hauppauge had not released any images of the new video capture device which will be able to do real-time H.264 compression of 1080i video from a component video source.

Now a moderator at the SageTV user forums has posted 2 images that show the front and back view of the HD-PVR. It appears to come with a standard Hauppauge infrared remote control, the same type the company bundles with many of its existing TV tuners.

The Hauppauge HD-PVR should be available in May or June for about $250. But if you believe the folks at the SageTV Forums, you should be able to preorder one from the Hauppauge web site later today.

In the market for a Mac-friendly USB TV tuner? Up until recently the market's been pretty much cornered by Elgato and Miglia. But last year Hauppauge announced that some of its popular TV tuners for PC were now Mac compatible. Or if none of those tuners are doing it for you, check out the new TubeStick hybrid from Equinox.

This $129 tuner can handle NTSC, ATSC, and ClearQAM signals. In layman's terms, that means you can plug in an analog cable, a digital antenna for over the air HDTV, or user the tuner to decode unencrypted HD cable channels.

The TubeStick hybrid comes with a portable antenna for watching over the air programs on the go, but we'd recommend spending a few bucks on a higher quality antenna if you plan to use this tuner at home. The tuner is also compatible with Windows.

It looks like the Mac is finally catching up to the PC when it comes to hardware support for TV tuner cards. Popular PC card maker Hauppauge is adding Mac compatibility, SageTV is broadening the number of TV tuners its Mac software supports, and now ATI is turning to the Mac as well.

ATI plans to release a version of its new TV Wonder 650 Combo USB tuner for OS X. The company just announced the PC version of this HDTV tuner last month.

The TV Wonder 650 Combo is a dual tuner box, with support for analog and HDTV signals. There's no CableCard support, but you can plug in an HDTV antenna and/or pick up unencrypted ClearQAM digital cable channels. ATI is also throwing in some tvPORTAL software which will let you schedule recordings and watch live and recorded TV.

The TV Wonder 650 Combo for Mac will set you back about $150, and should be available later this month.
