'Vampire Diaries' Star Michael Trevino on Getting Close with Klaus & the Rift with Caroline

by Laura Prudom, posted Nov 10th 2011 12:00PM
Michael TrevinoMystic Falls has been painfully bereft of everyone's favorite werewolf-turned-hybrid for the past two weeks, but thankfully, all of that is set to change with tonight's action-packed midseason finale.

Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) has been one of the most dynamic characters on 'The Vampire Diaries' thus far, evolving from misunderstood jock to angst-ridden lycanthrope to his new position as Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) right-hand hybrid over the course of three seasons. Where he'll end up next is anyone's guess, but according to Trevino, it's sure to be a compelling ride.

We caught up with the actor to get the scoop on Tyler and Caroline, his new bromance with Klaus and what fans can expect when 'TVD' returns from its two-month hiatus in January.

Proceed with caution, spoilers ahead!

'Vampire Diaries' Stars Talk Ghosts, Romance & Season 3 Start Date

by Laura Prudom, posted Jun 7th 2011 1:00PM
Steven R. McQueenBright and early last Tuesday morning, reporters from across the globe gathered in a chic London hotel to sit down with three of the luminous young stars of The CW's 'Vampire Diaries,' Candice Accola (Caroline), Katerina Graham (Bonnie) and Steven McQueen (Jeremy) -- needless to say, it was an attractive room.

Though Graham informed us that they couldn't reveal much about season three's mysteries, since the writers were returning to work the very same day, she did confirm the tentative airdate for the season three premiere: Thurs., September 8. Better start stocking up on vervain, 'TVD' fans.

Spoilers were off-limits, but the three stars were willing to offer some speculation on the direction of their characters next year, including Jeremy's newfound abilities and Caroline's tumultuous love life.

'The Vampire Diaries' Season 2, Episode 22 (Season Finale) Recap

The Vampire Diaries['The Vampire Diaries' - 'As I Lay Dying']

I've started enough of these 'Vampire Diaries' recaps recalling the exact expletives I uttered during particularly exciting episodes. But if you'll allow it, I have to do it one more time -- OH MY GOD.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from 'As I Lay Dying.' (Rookie mistake, I know.) It just seemed that all the events of this season led up to last week's episode, which truly did have a finale-esque feel (the sacrifice, the deaths, the bite, the Klaus not actually dying, the more deaths). Even while I was watching last night, I wasn't sure how they'd manage to go out with a bang.

But oh, me of little faith. I must've forgotten what show I was watching, because the final ten minutes -- capped with the epic last scene -- left me shaking in silence on my couch more than an hour after it ended. (Not kidding. I've never had such a visceral reaction to a TV show before.)

'The Vampire Diaries' Season 2, Episode 21 Recap

The Vampire Diaries['The Vampire Diaries' - 'The Sun Also Rises']

Well, we can't say we weren't warned.

'The Vampire Diaries' executive producer Julie Plec told reporters last week that "there will be some severe and tragic consequences [as a result of the sacrifice], and loss of life would be extreme over the last several episodes."

Last night's sacrifice-a-palooza certainly followed through on that promise. And while I expected plenty of gasps and "oh my god"s, I did not expect the uncontrollable sobbing. (Although I probably should by now, it basically happens every other day in Mystic Falls.)

The Vampire Diaries['The Vampire Diaries' - 'The Last Day']

Woah. Woah, woah, woah.

I was all set to talk about what a perfectly nice filler episode of 'The Vampire Diaries' was, then AH MAH GAH. The end? The end! Only on 'TVD' are the filler episodes just as exciting as ever.

Last night's episode, which chronicled the final day in Mystic Falls before the sacrifice as Klaus and his right-hand witch gathered the necessary components (including luring Tyler back to town), introduced the possibility of the game changer of all game changers: Could Elena become a vampire?
