Taryn Manning Was in the Middle of a Gang War While Shooting a Movie (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 29th 2011 5:16AM
Making movies can be dangerous work. Actors have gotten injured, and some have even died, for their art. But sometimes it's too dangerous to even start filming. On 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!), Taryn Manning detailed a day of shooting that didn't happen. To make matters worse for her and the other actors ready to go at this dilapidated strip mall they'd found for the scene, they were all stuck in their trailers, being told they were not allowed to come out because of permit issues.
When Manning just wanted to go for Taco Bell and wasn't allowed, she started to get suspicious, eventually discovering that they were instead in the middle of warring gang territory. In other words, they were actually in danger just sitting there. So they scrapped the day and moved somewhere else.

Drive: The Starting Line/Partners (series premiere)
by Brett Love, posted Apr 16th 2007 6:40AM

(S01E01/S01E02) To be honest, I was sold on this one long before we finally got a look at what the Drive team has been working on all this time. I count myself as a Tim Minear fan, so his involvement was enough to get me interested. Add in a cast including Nathan Fillion (Firefly), Melanie Lynskey (Two And A Half Men), Kevin Alejandro (Sleeper Cell), Kristin Lehman (Tilt), Dylan Baker (The Book Of Daniel), and Taryn Manning (Hustle & Flow), and you really have something.
