Questions We'd Ask Conan O'Brien on '60 Minutes'
by Danny Gallagher, posted May 1st 2010 1:27PM
Finally after being bound and gagged by the confines of an NBC contract, Coco will be able to remove that ball gag that Jeff Zucker finds so fetching and speak his mind. He'll be sitting down with '60 Minutes'' Steve Kroft this Sunday for an exclusive interview on everything that's happened since he gave 'The Tonight Show' back to Jay Leno, just a day shy of his interview contract deadline.
This isn't intended to question Kroft's journalistic ability or choice of questions, but he has a position that most TV fans would sacrifice a live goat to have. Ever since the "s" hit the "f" during NBC's "Late Night-Gate," people have been dying to ask Coco questions that could cost him money, legal fees and quite possibly a finger if he answered them before his contract expired. Here are the questions that inquiring minds want to know.
Microsoft Courted Conan to Plug His Show Into XBox Live
by Danny Gallagher, posted Apr 14th 2010 9:03AM

Conan O'Brien's deal with TBS may have thrown every TV pundit and pontificator for a loop, but here's one that will make your head spin clear around your neck. (WARNING: TV Squad and its parent companies will not be held responsible for any head and/or neck trauma that may occur while reading this article).
While everyone thought Conan would simply jump to Fox because it was the last remaining network without a strong late night slot, Coco and company were being courted by all sorts of networks and media outlets, including ... Microsoft???
That's right, the technology giant had been talking to Conan about a deal that would have brought his nightly talk show to their XBox Live service.
Conan's Tour Kicks Off in Eugene, Oregon
by Danny Gallagher, posted Apr 13th 2010 7:05PM

Conan O'Brien's 'Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television' Tour might be a once-in-a-lifetime event, but that doesn't mean it isn't bound by the laws of concert tours.
Those are the unspoken laws of live entertainment physics that affect every staged entertainment venue across the globe. And just like actual physics, they are cruel mistresses with no pity for people who dare to challenge them or go outside their boundaries of motion, inertia and box office receipts.
TBS Replaces Caray With Three Play-by-Players, Adds Smoltz
by Joel Keller, posted Mar 16th 2010 6:02PM
After the heaping helpings of criticism that got larded onto TBS after their subpar presentation of the 2009 baseball postseason, the network has decided to take no chances with its broadcast teams this season.According to Richard Sandomir of The New York Times, the network has decided to replace Chip Caray, who they dismissed after the 2009 playoffs, with a three-headed play-by-play rotation. The announcers are all pros: Dick Stockton, Brian Anderson (who announced one of the Division Series for the network in each of the last two years) and Ernie Johnson.
Yes, your eyes saw that last name correctly. Johnson (picutred above) is best known as the studio host for both TNT's NBA coverage, making sure he got words in edgewise between Charles Barkley rants. He's been TBS's studio host for baseball, and has broadcast it in the past. Even with his relative lack of baseball experience, though, he's got to be a step up from Caray, who seemed to miss a good number of plays and liked to use words like "fisted" quite a bit.
