Does Bill Clinton Have a 'Fatal Attraction' With the Obama Administration? (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Jan 4th 2011 7:30PM
According to veteran political reporter Jonathan Alter, Bill Clinton feels that the Obama administration has "disrespected" him by not paying enough attention to his ideas and suggestions about how to run the country.

This was a topic of discussion on "The Ed Show," (weekdays, 6PM ET on MSNBC) with Ed Schultz and his guests agreeing that Clinton needs to realize that he is no longer president. Political pundit Amy Holmes went so far as to compare Clinton to Glenn Close's notorious crazy stalker character in the movie "Fatal Attraction."

"I think Bubba loves the spotlight, in fact he sounds like Glenn Close 'I will not be ignored,' " Holmes said. "Where's the boiling bunny?"

Cenk Uygur Cracks a Uranus Joke on 'The Ed Show' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Dec 29th 2010 12:40PM
During the week between Christmas and New Years, cable news is full of guest hosts and clip shows. One of these guest hosts, Cenk Uygur, who is filling in on the 'The Ed Show' (weekdays, 6 PM ET on MSNBC) decided to spice things up with a bit of grade school scatological humor. Speaking of former Ambassador to the UN John Bolton, Uygur let this one rip:

"Bolton had of course enthusiastically pushed for the Iraq war, he also wanted us to invade Iran. If he could, he'd like to invade Uranus."

The only way we see Bolton recovering from this vicious burn is by responding in kind. Might we suggest a simple but effective "Up your butt with a coconut?"

"Rent Is Too Damn High" Guy Is Gunning for Obama (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Dec 28th 2010 7:30PM
Remember Jimmy McMillan? The white-gloved karate expert who captivated the nation after his virtuoso performance during a New York state gubernatorial debate in which he kept repeating his mantra of "The rent is too damn high."

Well, Jimmy McMillan is now running for president. On 'The Ed Show' (weekdays, 6PM ET on MSNBC), guest host Ceny Uygur played a clip of McMillan declaring his candidacy.

"If you don't do the job right, I'm coming after you. I know Barack Obama is (on the Internet.) I know he knows I'm out there," McMillan bragged. "But what he hasn't heard of yet is that Jimmy McMillan is running for president of the United States of America ... I'm coming after his black ass."

"If (McMillan) makes it to the White House, he won't have to pay any rent," Uygur joked.

Al Sharpton: Rush Limbaugh May Be Forced To Testify Before FCC About His 'Racist' Comments (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Dec 17th 2010 7:00PM
Recently, Al Shapton meet with the FCC in hopes he could convince them to take action against Rush Limbaugh, who Shaprton believes has made racist statements about Barack Obama and other black political figures.

The civil rights activist appeared on the 'Ed Show' (weekdays, 6 PM ET on MSNBC) to discuss this meeting. While Sharpton conceded he wasn't able to get the FCC to take an "affirmative" stand against Limbaugh, he believes Limbaugh may be forced to testify in a hearing about radio standards.

"(The FCC) can not infringe upon free speech, but they can talk about standards, and can have open public hearings where radio owners and personalities (appear) and certainly we would want Mr. Limbaugh to be one of them," Sharpton said.

Then Sharpton added he would "love to see" Limbaugh explain in public why some of the statements he's made "are not racist."

We agree. Limbaugh vs. a FCC panel on what constitutes racism would probably be some highly entertaining television.

Al Sharpton Wants the FCC to Take Rush Limbaugh Off the Air (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Dec 7th 2010 6:40PM
Appearing on 'The Ed Show' (weekdays, 6PM ET on MSNBC) Al Sharpton called on the FCC to take Rush Limbaugh off the air, citing examples of allegedly racist comments the right-wing radio host has made about President Obama and Congressman Jim Clyburn.

"Rush Limbaugh has the right to say whatever he wants to say, he does not have the right to do it on the public regulated airwaves," Sharpton told Ed Schultz.

"The FCC has the responsibility to set standards to say the public can not be offended based on their race and their gender in this country and use federally regulated airwaves that (the FCC) gives licenses to."

Although Sharpton plans to meet with the FCC to discuss the matter, his appeal seems to have a very small chance for success. However, his attempt to do so should certainly give polemicists a topic of conversation with which to fill our federally regulated airwaves.

Ed Schultz Calls President Obama a 'Turncoat' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Dec 6th 2010 11:05AM
Ed Schultz has been garnering notoriety lately for his unabashedly over-the-top and often below-the-belt attacks on Republicans and conservatives.

Thursday on 'The Ed Show' (weekdays, 6 PM ET on MSNBC), Schultz turned his ire and verbal excess to President Obama, who he feels has betrayed the democratic base by not speaking out stronger against extending the Bush-era tax cuts for people making over $250,000 per year.

"The only people who can save the Democrats are a few tough progressive that are left in the house who have come to the conclusion that it won't be President Obama that moves the liberal agenda forward," Schultz opined. "(Obama) has basically been a turncoat to the base. Yes, Ed just said that. He has basically been a turncoat to the base."

Do our more progressive readers agree with Schultz's assessment? If so, let's agree that a proper punishment for the president's transgressions against liberalism might be forcing him to watch to a marathon of 'The Ed Show.'

Rabbi Yehuba Levin Makes a Bizarre First Impression on 'The Ed Show' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Oct 15th 2010 4:25PM
Ultra-orthodox Rabbi Yehuba Levin was by the side of New York Gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino when Paladino made his controversial anti-gay remarks. When Paladino later apologized for those remarks, Levin rescinded his endorsement of Paladino, which should give you a good idea of his perspective on things. Levin explained his change of heart on The 'Ed Show' (weekdays, 6 PM ET on MSNBC).

But, before doing so, he said this:

"Ed, thank you so much for having me. In the interest of full disclosure and transparency, you're not appearing with me in the same room, where I could punch you in the nose,' Levin told Schultz, while feigning a punch.

"You have me on some set where I feel like I am under concentration camp conditions . . . And I have this light shinning in my eyes. So let everybody know I'm arguing under affirmative action standards."

Schultz, who is no stranger to rhetorical excess himself, had a pretty priceless split screen reaction to Levin's bizarre disclaimer.

Bull Semen Tax Emerges as Issue in Maine Gubernatorial Race (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Oct 8th 2010 5:08PM
On the 'The Ed Show' (weekdays, 6 PM ET on MSNBC) Ed Schultz played a video clip of candidate for Maine governor Paul Lapage making a most unusual anti-tax point in front of what looks like a town hall meeting

"I don't know if you know this, but the state of Maine is the only state in the United States of America that charges sales tax on bull semen," Lapage said on the clip, before pausing for effect. "Did you hear that? Bull semen."

After the clip ended Schultz corrected LaPage, stating "Lapage is flat out wrong on this one, that particular substance has been exempt from sales tax since 2005." In other words, LaPage's claims about bull semen appear to be bullshit.

Ed Schultz Uses Dubious Math to Argue His Rally Drew as Many as Glenn Beck's (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Oct 5th 2010 4:30PM
According to the AP and other sources, the 'One Nation' rally that Ed Schultz promoted did not draw as many people as Glenn Beck's 'Restoring Honor' rally.

Schultz had previously stated that the crowd at Beck's rally was no big deal and predicted that he could organize a rally that drew as many. Faced with the evidence otherwise, Schultz turned to some sketchy math.

On 'The Ed Show' (weekdays, 6PM ET on MSNBC) Schultz proclaimed organizers of the 'One Nation' rally had estimated a crowd of 175,000 people. Then he compared that number to the average of two independent media estimates of Beck's rally, one at 87,000 people and another at 300,000 people.

"Pretty much, would you say that the size of the crowd is pretty much the same? I would," Schultz argued.

What Schultz didn't say is organizers always give an extremely high estimate of crowd size, as compared to any independent media organization. In fact, Beck estimated his crowd at 500,000.

The truth is, crowd sizes at rallies are notoriously hard to estimate. Schultz should have just told his audience that, rather than insult them with an embarrassingly transparent apples-and-oranges manipulation of numbers.

Ed Schultz: Chris Christie is a 'Cold-Hearted Fat Slob' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Sep 27th 2010 11:55AM
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has received a lot attention for an incident in which he confronted a heckler during a campaign event for California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, and told the heckler that it is "people who yell and scream like you who are dividing this country."

Christie's reaction enraged the easily enrage-able Ed Schultz. On the 'The Ed Show' (Weekdays, 6 PM ET on MSNBC), Schultz made it clear he doesn't think Christie, a Republican, has any business telling anyone to be respectful, since Schultz believes Christie's policies have been damaging to American workers.

"What we are seeing out of this governor of New Jersey is just go to the money, cut whoever you have to cut, there is no ramification for any of this because he is cold-hearted fat slob anyway," Schultz ranted.

Right before this attack on Christie's girth, Schultz mentioned how he wouldn't be silenced in his fight for racially equality. So it is a bit ironic Schultz would then so quickly single out Christie for his physical appearance.

Al D'Amato Calls Out Jack Burkman on His Racist "Bull****" (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Sep 20th 2010 10:25PM
MSNBC shouter Ed Schultz likes nothing more than to use 'The Ed Show' (weekdays, 6PM ET on MSNBC) to highlight what he believes to be racism in the conservative movement. So he was obviously thrilled when he found a clip of former New York Senator Al D'Amato -- a Republican -- calling out GOP strategist Jack Burkman as racist.

In the clip, which comes from the Fox Business Network, D'Amato dresses Burkman down during a discussion of whether the United States Postal Service should be privatized.

"Most of these guys who work in the post office should be driving cabs," Burkman says in the clip. "And I think we should stop importing labor from Nigeria and Ethiopia, that's about the skill level."

"You are a nasty racist," D'Amato shot back, as Burkman's jaw dropped comically. "Let me just tell you that's a bunch of bull****. You should be ashamed of yourself and have your mouth washed out."

Burkman tried to explain himself, but D'Amato wasn't having it:

"Shut up, I listened to your racist bull****"

Oddly, both men were in agreement that the post office should be privatized.

MSNBC's Ed Schultz: Glenn Beck's Not the Only One Who Can Organize a 300,000 Person Rally (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Sep 1st 2010 11:34PM
On the 'Ed Show' (weekdays, 6PM ET on MSNBC) possibly deranged host Ed Schultz argued that it was no big deal that Glenn Beck drew what may have been 300,000 people to his "Restoring Honor" rally.

"I could get 300,000 people if you give me six months of promotion, six months of production, and two billionaires who are paying for busing the people in," Schultz stated.

Then he declared he's "pretty confident" outsourced Americans, union workers, teachers, cab and truck drivers and wage earners in general would attend his rally.

"Beck's rally, I'm telling you folks, was no big shakes," he continued.

What's odd about Schultz's boast is that the ratings-challenged host struggles to get 300,000 marching-aged people to flip the remote to MSNBC when his show is on.

Ed Schultz Gives Forum to Unemployed Woman Glenn Beck Attacked (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Aug 23rd 2010 11:20PM
On August 12, Glenn Beck used his Fox News show to call out a group of people who had gone to New York to protest the end of their federal unemployment benefits.

Beck said of the protesters: "You'd be ashamed to call them Americans," and singled out a woman named Connie Kaplan, who had been quoted in the New York Daily News about the protest.

"Don't spend your remaining money on travel to get to a protest," Beck yelled at Kaplan from his sound studio. "Go out and get a job!"

Well, liberal talk-show screamer Ed Schultz was more than happy to use 'The Ed Show' (weekdays 6PM ET on MSNBC) to give Kaplan a chance to respond to Beck's gratuitous attack.

"I know I'm American, just as much as he is," Kaplan declared, before branding Beck as a puppet for Republican interests. "I'll take any job," she added. "Except working for Glenn Beck."

We're not sure if such employment would be in the cards, but fair enough.

Democrats ask MSNBC's Ed Schultz to run for the Senate

by Danny Gallagher, posted Jan 6th 2010 10:00PM
The Democrats are getting desperate to retain the baboon hair thin majority they have in the Senate.

How desperate are they? They actually asked political TV shouter Ed Schultz to run for a vacant seat.

The pundit and host of MSNBC's The Ed Show got a call from Democratic Rep. Merle Boucher asking him to run for retiring North Dakota Sen. Byron Dorgan's vacated seat.

Schultz hasn't said whether he'll run one way or the other but when he does, expect his booming voice to knock out a few car windows and the occasional fragile wine glass. Don't say we didn't warn you.
