Lauren Graham Doesn't Want to Freak America Out, But She's Dating Her TV Brother (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 9th 2011 2:00PM
Lauren Graham and her boyfriend/brother Peter Krause on 'Today'Lauren Graham had a great summer vacation in Venice in between seasons of 'Parenthood,' but she'd rather not say too much about it. It's not that she's too private a person, it's just that her boyfriend is Peter Krause, who plays Adam Braverman, her TV brother, on 'Parenthood.' She thought that might be too much for the Friday morning audience on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC).

"I went with my boyfriend, I just don't like to talk about it because I don't want to freak people out," said Graham. It was pointed out to her that Krause is her brother. "Oh my god! Wait! What? Look, it's America. My boyfriend is my brother. You can do anything you want."

Jason Ritter Shares 'Event' News and His Dad's Advice on 'The Talk' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 5th 2011 6:15PM
Jason Ritter talks about John Ritter and 'The Event' on 'The Talk'Jason Ritter shared good news for fans of 'The Event' on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), when he discussed plans to continue the canceled NBC series, in one form or another, to address its unanswered questions. He also shared some advice his late father John Ritter's advice on navigating celebrity and show business.

"We made all these promises that we would give them answers and so they're still looking for a way to continue telling the story," said Ritter about 'The Event.' "Whether another channel picks it up, they're still in talks to see if that can happen. Maybe do a wrap-up miniseries. They eventually will be getting the answers out in some format or another. Comic book, maybe? I don't know."

'The Event' Heading to Syfy?

by Chris Harnick, posted Jun 1st 2011 4:30PM
The EventUPDATE: Craig Engler of Syfy took to Twitter and dispelled the rumors.

"To answer some questions I've been getting," he tweeted, "at this time we have no plans to pick up The Event."

Previously: 'The Event' lives on!? Maybe, according to reports.

The canceled NBC series may have found a second life, and new home on NBC's sister network, Syfy.

Deadline is reporting creator Nick Wauters and executive producer Steve Stark are in talks with Syfy to bring the alien drama to the network as a miniseries. Given that NBC and Syfy are all under the NBC Universal umbrella, the deal could take shape rather quickly.

However, the players involved have to deal with going from a broadcast series budget to that of a cable miniseries. Financial constraints could prevent this event from ever taking place.

'The Event,' 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' Canceled

by Jean Bentley, posted May 13th 2011 2:40PM
The EventIn the midst of NBC's flurry of pilot pickups (hooray, Chelsea Handler sitcom!) and series renewals (yay, 'Chuck'!), the network let the ax fall on two of its bubble shows.

Freshmen series 'The Event' and 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' are both canceled.

According to Entertainment Weekly, NBC will not pick up 'The Event,' its alien drama, for a second season. The show premiered strong, but its viewership slipped drastically throughout the season and just couldn't gain any momentum after its winter hiatus. However, it might not be completely dead: Deadline is reporting that the producers are shopping the show to other outlets, including Netflix.

Deadline is also reporting that 'Law & Order Los Angeles' has also gotten the hook, even after a drastic overhaul that saw Skeet Ulrich get killed off, Alfred Molina change professions, Corey Stoll shave his mustache and Alana De La Garza join the cast.

Five Things You Need to Know About the Return of 'The Event'

by Maureen Ryan, posted Mar 7th 2011 1:15PM
'The Event' started out with a promising pilot, but it ran into the same cluster of problems that so many genre-tinged dramas have encountered in the last few years: Inconsistent plot movement, painful flashbacks, a number of characters who seemed irrelevant or downright annoying.

The NBC show returns Monday with a two-hour episode that airs at 8PM ET, and you may be wondering, has 'The Event' fixed what ails it? Not entirely. What's frustrating about Monday's return is that about half of it works pretty well, but about half of what transpires is fairly clunky.

So should you tune in? That's up to you. But before you decide whether to check in again or not, check out the Five Things You Need to Know about 'The Event's' return:

'The Cape'Is it the end of the road for 'The Cape'? The fledgling superhero drama seems to be in serious trouble as NBC has cut the number of episodes for this debut season down from 13 to 10.

Deadline.com reports that falling ratings --this week's episode was a series low -- have forced the network to step in. As the drama is currently wrapping its tenth episode, production will now stop altogether.

The tenth/final episode of 'The Cape' will reportedly air Feb. 28, and after that the Monday 9PM ET time slot will be filled by 'The Event,' returning for the second half of its debut season.

'Chuck,' 'Gossip Girl' Top Most Pirated TV Show List

by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 1st 2010 5:40PM
Chuck
You're not likely to see 'The Walking Dead' and '90210' show up on the same list very often. Well, except for torrent website Pirate Bay's ranking of the most pirated TV shows.

It's no surprise that premium cable shows are ranked throughout the list, but the other random entries make it hard to pin down any sort of overall trend.

There are genre shows such as 'Chuck' and 'The Walking Dead,' both of which have a strong niche audience. Then there's '90210' and 'Gossip Girl.' They would indicate an already known fact: Young, tech-savvy viewers are doing the downloading. But there are some surprises, like one very popular Canadian series and several US shows that pull in mediocre ratings.

'The Event' Season 1, Episode 10 Recap (VIDEO)

by Ryan McGee, posted Nov 30th 2010 5:45AM
['The Event' - 'Everything Will Change']

When you title an episode 'Everything Will Change,' you're inviting a host of skepticism. When you're 'The Event,' you've already got plenty of skepticism aimed at you, so why not promise a game changer in the final episode before the show returns at the end of February? Very little substantially changed, although the show did manage to finally tie the Sean/Leila story more firmly into the rest of the show, along with perhaps showing us onscreen what the title of the show means.

Thomas's long-distance phone call to wherever "home" is for Sophia's Crew, did expand the show's scope in a fairly compelling manner. It wasn't quite first contact, insofar as "aliens"/alterna-humans are already here, but it did push the show from merely "extraterrestrials walk among us" into "extraterrestrials might be coming to put a hurt onto us." The former is unnerving, to be sure, but the latter is downright terrifying. That's not to say that the end results will play out that way, but at least the scenario is a possibility.
