Would you turn down a spot on a nationally televised talk show? Actor Jeremy Renner was fine with doing both of these things.

Renner appeared on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC), where he discussed his Oscar night activities. Jeremy played the lead in the film 'The Hurt Locker,' which won the 2010 Academy Award for Best Picture. After this, Renner was in the mood to celebrate, but his mom was along for the ride. What to do ... what to do? The answer was simple: He ditched his mom, leaving her behind at one party while he went to another gathering, where he "randomly" danced with Madonna.

G4 Orders Series About Real-Life 'Hurt Locker' Patrol

The Hurt LockerGet ready for 'The Hurt Locker,' the reality show.

G4, the network best known for covering videogames and Comic-Con and launching the career of Olivia Munn, is developing a new reality show called 'Bomb Patrol: Afghanistan,' which will follow a U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit as the squad trains in the country and then deploys to Afghanistan for several months.

Like the Oscar-winning movie, the 10 one-hour episodes will show the incredibly dangerous job the EOD squad is tasked with in locating and dismantling bombs, in rough terrain and incredibly dramatic situations. The show will premiere in the spring, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Kathryn Bigelow Reflects on Her History-Making Academy Award (VIDEO)

On 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM ET on CBS), Kathryn Bigelow reflected on her Best Director Academy Award win for 'The Hurt Locker,' which makes her the first female director to win the award in history, and touched on those serving in the armed forces that the film depicts.

Bigelow said she hopes that her Best Director top honor is only "the first of many" such awards that other female directors will win, but she was careful to point out that the film's sobering subject matter is of primary importance.

Kathryn Bigelow Wins Historic Oscar (VIDEO)

In a historic Oscar moment, the 'Hurt Locker' helmer became the first woman ever to win the Academy Award for Best Director. She did so amidst tough competition from Quentin Tarantino ('Inglourious Basterds'), Jason Reitman ('Up in the Air') and ex-husband James Cameron ('Avatar').

"There's no other way to describe it. It's the moment of a lifetime," she said.

'The Hurt Locker' took home five additional awards, including Best Picture.

Barbra Streisand, Charlize Theron and Kathy Bates Added to Oscar Roster

Also on the roster will be Queen Latifah, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta.

There's an interesting angle on Barbra Streisand's appearance on the show. Speculation is that Streisand will be presenting Best Director, which insiders say is a lock for Kathryn Bigelow.

'The Hurt Locker' Scores Six BAFTA Awards (VIDEO)

BAFTA, Kathryn Bigelow, The Hurt Locker'The Hurt Locker' has already scored quite a few trophies this awards season, and it took home several more at the '2010 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards' (Sun., 8PM ET on BBC America), including best film, best director, best original screenplay, best cinematography, best sound and best editing.

"We're just so deeply honored and humbled to be recognized for putting a bit of a spotlight on a very, very difficult situation," said director Kathryn Bigelow. "It means everything to us. This is beyond our wildest imagination."

Any predictions on whether the thoughtful war flick will score wins on any of its nine Oscar nominations? How will it fare against 'Avatar'?

James Cameron: Hopeful Academy Award 'Jackass' (VIDEO)

Should 'Avatar' win big at this year's Academy Awards, director James Cameron promises to make an even bigger spectacle than he did after declaring himself "king of the world" when 'Titanic' won for Best Picture in 1998, he said on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated).

"I can make a bigger jackass of myself," Cameron said. "That's what I love about the Academy Awards, a great opportunity to make a damn fool of yourself in front of a billion people."

Oscar Nominee Jeremy Renner Sings on 'The View' (VIDEO)

Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner may have been fantastic in 'The Hurt Locker,' but he probably won't be winning any awards for this performance from 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated).

Renner was convinced by 'The View' panel to play piano and sing an original song entitled 'My World.' Despite a few off-key notes, he turned in a decent performance, all the while expressing his displeasure at being put on the spot.

Aww! Given his harrowing performance in 'The Hurt Locker,' we wouldn't have pegged Best Actor nominee Jeremy Renner as a mama's boy, but he appears to be just that. On 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM ET on CBS), Renner revealed that he'll be taking his mother to the 82nd Annual Academy Awards as his date.

Renner said that, when he broke the news to his mom, she immediately swore off breakfast waffles and pledged to start hitting the gym.
