Late Night LiarsJim Henson has sadly passed on, but his company is still thriving and adapting to the times.

According to the LA Times
, GSN announced today that Henson Alternative (the adult division of the Jim Henson Company) will be making a game show called 'Late Night Liars,' which stars a group of alcoholic puppets.

The premise of the game show is this: Contestants (who are human) will have to distinguish between fact and fiction, as told by the aforementioned drunk puppets, as they compete for various cash and prizes. Characters include Shelley Oceans, Sir Sebastian Simian and William A. Mummy (get it?).

Actor/comedian Larry Miller will host.

"Jim Henson made a great discovery many years ago when he realized that pretending puppets are people is far easier than dealing with people who are puppets," Miller said in a GSN statement.

Fraggle Rock and Farscape now on iTunes

by Brad Trechak, posted Jan 29th 2008 9:27AM
A FraggleAs reported by TUAW, properties from the Jim Henson Company are available on iTunes. Sadly, this does not include The Muppet Show, which was sold to Disney in 2004.

Among the shows available are the first seasons of Fraggle Rock and Farscape for $1.99 per episode. The article mentions that Farscape is difficult to find on DVD due to difficulties over home video rights (although it has been released previously).

I remember Fraggle Rock from my youth and I always enjoyed it. I remember being scared over the episode with the Terrible Tunnel. As I think about it now, I think Mokey Fraggle had the exact same voice as Rizzo the Rat from the Muppets.

So, for those who use iTunes, here is the chance to indulge yourself and purchase the first few seasons. Or, in the case of Fraggle Rock, you could just buy the DVD.
