'The Office': Pranks Between Jim and Dwight Reach a New Level (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 9th 2011 3:00AM
'The Office' - 'Christmas Wishes'Pranks took center stage during the holiday party on 'The Office' (Thu., 9PM ET on NBC). Apparently, the constant back-and-forth between Jim and Dwight has lead to a complaint from the new girl in the office, which lead to Andy making an ill-advised ultimatum.

The next person who pranks gets both of their bonuses. But all this ruling did was cause the pair to start pranking themselves, under the pretext that it's the other doing it. When Andy realized what was going wrong, he called off the threat but again made a boneheaded move by only telling Jim.

To Hire or Not to Hire Mrs. California on 'The Office' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 2nd 2011 3:00AM
'The Office' - 'Mrs. California'If you've been missing that gut-wrenching discomfort you used to get from Michael Scott on 'The Office' (Thu., 9PM ET on NBC) this season, fear not: It's back. And this time it has the power of the CEO.

Andy wasn't elevated to Michael's position to give us those awkward moments, that's what James Spader was brought in to do as new CEO Robert California. This week, he was absolutely impossible.

He started the episode by giving Andy four seconds warning that Mrs. California was coming in for a job and that Andy shouldn't hire her. He then simply went way too far in insisting that Andy give her the job -- gotta save face in front of the missus -- only to yell at Andy later for doing just that.

Dwight Shocked by the True Story of the Battle of Schrute Farms on 'The Office' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 18th 2011 2:30AM
'The Office' - 'Gettysburg'When Andy came up with an inspirational trip to the Battle of Gettysburg on 'The Office' (Thu., 9PMET on NBC), Dwight got on his high horse about the Battle of Schrute Farms being the northernmost battle during the Civil War. As always, he was full of bluster and conviction, which made it all the more sweeter when he found a curator who was familiar with it.

Oscar, the resident know-it-all, had been on a tear the whole day with Dwight about the veracity of his claims of a significant battle on his land. So he was a little stunned that the Battle of Schrute Farms existed. But both men were in for a huge surprise when a video showed what it really meant.

Angela Kinsey's Daughter and Grandmother Don't Watch Her on 'The Office' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 16th 2011 12:15AM
Angela Kinsey, 'The Talk'Ironically, according to Angela Kinsey on 'The Talk' (Weekdays, Syndicated on CBS), it looks like her daughter and grandmother don't watch her on 'The Office' for largely the same reasons. According to Kinsey, her 94-year old grandmother told her, "Baby, we are so proud for you, but I don't care for it and I do not watch it."

It's just a little too crude for the oldest and youngest members of her family. Her daughter, actually, is still struggling with the concept of even seeing her mother on television. She saw Kinsey's Clairol commercial and tried to talk to her.

When Kinsey came home, her daughter asked her, "Why didn't you talk to me today? You were on the box."

Dwight Reveals His Accountability Booster/Doomsday Device on 'The Office' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 4th 2011 3:00AM
'The Office' - 'Doomsday'If you were looking for a notable difference between Andy Bernard's managerial style as compared to Michael Scott on 'The Office' (Thu., 9PM ET on NBC), how about the fact that he let Dwight implement his accountability booster/doomsday device? Michael would have shut it down immediately, because he wanted to be loved by everyone in the office.

Andy seems more afraid of Robert California than he is concerned about his reputation. Plus, he may have actually believed that this wasn't just a horrible plot that was going to get them all fired should they make five mistakes in a single day.

EXCLUSIVE: 'The Office' Covers 'Closing Time' (VIDEO)

by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 3rd 2011 10:45AM
The Office Closing TimeSome days, we really wish Andy Bernard was our boss. OK, more like most days, but then we would probably never get any work done. In fact, does anyone at Dunder Mifflin ever do any work?

Judging from this exclusive clip of tonight's episode of 'The Office,' that looks like a no. But if you had to ask us what we would rather be doing at 5PM on a weeknight -- working or jamming out to Semisonic's 'Closing Time' -- we would definitely choose the latter.

'The Office' is known for their completely random cold opens, but this just might rank as one of our all-time favorites. It could be the 90's nostalgia or Andy's uninhibited desire to have an "end of the day tradition," but there's something about this clip that just makes us want to go home.

Erin Goes Too Far Showing a Disturbing Film for Halloween on 'The Office' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 28th 2011 2:15AM
'The Office' - 'Spooked'Andy tasked Erin with putting together the Halloween party on 'The Office' (Thu., 9PM ET on NBC), but when he found out Robert California was going to be stopping by, he got a little worried that it wasn't adult enough.

Erin, though, started getting paranoid that since they'd broken up she was on the verge of losing her job. This wasn't helped when Andy told her they'd talk at the end of the day. So she overcompensated, and took assistance from Gabe of all people.

Catherine Tate Returning to 'The Office'

by Chris Harnick, posted Oct 21st 2011 4:45PM
Catherine TateBritish superstar Catherine Tate is returning to NBC's 'The Office' for a multi-episode guest arc. The 'Doctor Who' veteran will play Nellie Bertram, the role she originated in the Season 7 finale.

Tate's character is hired by her close friend and chairman of the board Jo Bennett (Kathy Bates, who will not appear in the episode) to be a special projects manager working directly for the corporate office. According to NBC, she'll enjoy the favoritism she gets from Bennet.

"Catherine is hysterical. We introduced her briefly in last season's finale and knew she had to be a part of the show somehow. We'll meet her again as corporate's special projects manager, and her relationship with Robert California (James Spader) will be far from professional. We're thrilled that she's joining the cast," Paul Lieberstein, 'Office' executive producer and star, said in a statement.

Josh Groban is Andy's Little Brother, and Parents' Favorite, on 'The Office' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 14th 2011 2:30AM
'The Office' - 'Garden Party'With Andy stepping up as the new regional manager on 'The Office' (Thu., 9PM ET on NBC), we're getting the opportunity to get deeper into him as a character. This week, that was through a garden party he threw -- at Schrute Farms! -- to try and make his father proud of him.

Stephen Collins and Dee Wallace played his parents, joined by Josh Groban as his younger, and clearly favored brother. He even got the namesake from the father, rather than the eldest son! It became a lot more clear why Andy's so insecure and acts out ... and even had such rage issues when we first met him.
