The Situation Lands 'Suburgatory' Role, 'True Blood' Adds Series Regular and More Casting News

by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 15th 2011 7:30PM
the situation on suburgatoryCiao Seaside! The Situation is leaving the shore and headed to the suburbs.

Our favorite juicehead gorilla, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino will guest-star on ABC's hit new comedy 'Suburgatory,' reports TV Guide.

The Situation will play himself, and we can't wait to see him and Noah (Alan Tudyk) compare tans. The 'Jersey Shore' star will somehow end up in the suburbs, where he'll serve as the fist-pumping DJ at Tessa's (Jane Levy) school dance.

Sorrentino's acting debut will air sometime next year.

Snooki Rips on The Situation & 'DWTS,' But Accidentally Offends Wendy Williams (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Nov 14th 2011 3:05PM
When Snooki dropped by 'The Wendy Williams Show,' (weekdays, syndicated on Fox) we pretty much expected Wendy to press the 'Jersey Shore' star for her side of the story on what exactly happened between her and The Situation. Snooki predictably denied the hook-up, and gave her theory about Mike's erratic behavior on the Italy season of 'Jersey Shore.' But in her haste to rip on The Situation, she ended up taking an unintended swipe at Wendy's 'Dancing With the Stars' stint, too.

When The Situation was on Wendy's show on Halloween, he gave some vague details about what he claims happened in that hotel room. But Snooki had a rebuttal ready. "I just think he's obsessed with me and he wanted camera-time, and that's why he did that ... I'd never date Mike, I would rather cut my legs off than date Mike," she protested.

The Situation and Wendy Williams Dress Up as 'Pan Am' Pilot & Stewardess (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 31st 2011 3:00PM
Nobody does Halloween quite like the morning shows. 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated on Fox) did its part to keep the day's madness going, recruiting the Situation into a couples' 'Pan Am' costume. With Wendy dressed as a stewardess and Sitch playing a pilot, the pair launched into a 'Pan Am' parody sketch laced with sexual innuendo.

In the skit, the Situation redefined 'DTF' as "down to fly," and, as you might imagine, threw around a few cockpit jokes. His performance was slightly less awkward than his disastrous bit at the Donald Trump roast, but we don't expect him to quit his day-job GTL'ing anytime soon.

The Situation Clarifies What Went Down Between Him and Snooki on 'Chelsea' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 25th 2011 2:15AM
Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, 'Chelsea Lately'There's been a lot of uncertainty about what happened between Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino and Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi between the sheets this past season on 'Jersey Shore.' Sorrentino was on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!), where he made it quite clear what his version of the story is going to be.

When Polizzi was on the show recently, she denied that the pair slept together, but Chelsea Handler was hoping for the truth from Sorrentino. Surprisingly to Handler, he agreed with Snooki.

"We didn't sleep together," he concurred. "We did something else. Well, I didn't do anything. She did something." And without saying anything really, he said it all, didn't he?

The Situation Tries to Teach Larry the Cable Guy About 'Jersey Shore' (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 10th 2011 3:00PM
Larry the Cable Guy doesn't seem like he's the biggest fan of 'Jersey Shore.' Guest-hosting for Regis on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC), Larry played a true-false game of "Situation or Not a Situation," with the Situation himself, Mike Sorrentino. Judging from the expression on Larry's face, he didn't much care for the Situation in which he found himself.

As Kelly Ripa read clues like, "A castmate hit a copcar while driving on the streets of Italy," and "two girls in the cast call themselves team Meatball and ended up in bed together after a trip to the Italian shore," Larry had to hold up a sign of the Situation if he thought they'd actually happened. He played along, but the self-avowed redneck didn't seem too interested in the latest 'Jersey Shore' hijinks.

New Jersey Taxpayers Picking Up $420K 'Jersey Shore' Tab

by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 15th 2011 11:35AM
New Jerseyans already have some conflicted feelings about the way MTV's hit reality show 'Jersey Shore' portrays their home state. Now that NJ taxpayers are footing some of the bill for their ridiculous exploits, the state may have a situation on its hands.

The AP reports that the New Jersey Economic Development Authority has approved state funding of $420,000 worth of production costs incurred during the show's 2009 season under a film tax credit program.

The decision is already sparking controversy. New Jersey governor Chris Christie, who has been a vocal critic of the show, is speaking out against the funding. "The Governor's opinions about 'Jersey Shore' and its New Yorker cast are well-known," Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak said in a statement to the New Jersey Star-Ledger. "They are phonies and the show is a false portrayal of New Jersey and our shore communities. He has also been clear about his belief that film tax credit programs are not the most effective way to spur economic growth throughout the State."

Snooki and The Situation Argue Over Whether They Hooked Up or Not (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 19th 2011 4:21AM
Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi, 'Jersey Shore'Who are we supposed to believe in this feud on 'Jersey Shore' (Thu., 10PM ET on MTV). When you're dealing with people of such impeccable integrity and character like Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi and Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, it's shocking to imagine either one of them lying about anything.

The situation wasn't easy to read either. Mike was running around telling people that he and Nicole had hooked up two months prior, and when she found out about it, she flipped her lid. After all, she was with her current boyfriend at the time.

Now this could be interpreted two ways. Methinks she doth protest too much, meaning they did hook up, or she could just be freaking out because Mike is making something up that could ruin her relationship.

Pauly D Talks 'Jersey Shore' Fight: 'You'd Be Surprised at What Actually Hit Sitch' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 10th 2011 2:45PM
Snooki and Pauly D on 'Access Hollywood Live'MTV's 'Jersey Shore' Season 4 promo includes a scene where where Ronnie and The Situation get into an intense-looking situation. Perhaps to avoid confusion, Pauly D, Snooki, Billy Bush, and Kit Hoover called The Situation "Sitch" on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC). So what really happened in the Florence throwdown? Pauly D tried to stay vague on the details, but let a crucial clue slip.

"It was just some built up stuff," he said of the fight. "This has been built up for awhile. They had some tension, we had to just let them release it. We had to just let them do what they had to do." Asked if alcohol was involved with the fight, Pauly said, "Always. A little bit."

He then added this bit of intrigue, when Bush asked if Ronnie had actually clobbered Sitch, or if perhaps Sitch was being overdramatic. "You'd be surprised at what actually hit Sitch," said Pauly. Not who hit Sitch, but what hit Sitch. We're intrigued.

The Situation Hits on Jesse Eisenberg in Italian (VIDEO)

by Laura Prudom, posted Aug 10th 2011 3:30AM
The Situation flirts with Jesse EisenbergYou've got to imagine that it would be fairly traumatic to have Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino hitting on you in any language, but it's reassuring to know that he's no more alluring in Italian than he is in American.

While visiting 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' (weeknights, 11.35PM ET on NBC), Sorrentino demonstrated his newfound linguistic skills on an unsuspecting Jesse Eisenberg, who didn't look too convinced.

Is The Situation Trying to Sabotage Snooki's Relationship on 'Jersey Shore'? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 4th 2011 11:58PM
'Jersey Shore' Italian premiereThe cast may have relocated to Italy for their fourth season, but if you tuned randomly into points in the middle of this Season Premiere of 'Jersey Shore' (Thu., 10PM ET on MTV) you would have never known it.

There they were, dancing in a club, grinding on strangers, getting drunk and generally carousing about.

Some things don't need to change, though Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino seems to be confusing Italy with Las Vegas. What happens in Italy, and on the top-rated show on MTV, most definitely does not stay in Italy.

So he'd better be careful how close he's getting to Snooki. The other cast members seem as put-off and surprised by his sudden interest in his diminutive roommate as we are.

'Jersey Shore' Season 4 Trailer: Florence, Fights, Hook Ups & More (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Jul 19th 2011 11:30AM
What can you expect from 'Jersey Shore' Season Four? If the new trailer is any indication, the same patented 'Jersey Shore' antics -- drunken misadventures, the housemates yelling and throwing things at each other, hook-ups, fights, and car crashes -- that we've come to expect from the carousing crew, just transplanted to Florence, Italy.

A few key developments in the season are clear from the trailer, and 'The Situation' is at the center of them: an emerging Vinny-esque flirtation with Snooki, and a big physical altercation with Ronnie, which ends with the Sitch laying glassy eyed on the floor, taken out of the house in a stretcher.

Check out the trailer after the jump.

'Jersey Shore' Recast Looming After Season 5: Report

by PopEater Staff, posted Jun 24th 2011 9:35AM
Jersey ShoreA 'Jersey Shore' without Snooki and the gang? Say it ain't so!

According to reports, MTV plans to recast the now infamous reality show after the original crew films one final season in Seaside Heights this summer.

"After this group comes back from Italy and shoots season 5 this summer, that will be the end for them," a source tells Us Weekly.

The insider goes on to cite the cast's high salaries and outside commitments as reasons to move on with a new group -- not to mention the publicity and paparazzi constantly surrounding them. The new cast will be "a lot cheaper," but that the current stars "will leave on a high note."

'Jersey Shore' Cast Gets Mixed Reception in Florence (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted May 16th 2011 5:45PM
The cast of 'Jersey Shore' isn't terribly popular with some Italian-Americans, who feel that JWoww, The Situation, Snooki and the crew represent some ugly stereotypes. The show is now filming in Florence, Italy, and 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) found a lot of Italian-Italians aren't so hot on 'Jersey Shore' either. They asked some people in the street their opinions and spoke with the mayor of Florence, who had trouble understanding what a "Snooki" was.

"They are full of tattoo, they get drunk," one woman in the street said. "I think they are stupid." Another woman said that Italians are not like the 'Jersey Shore' cast does on television.

The Situation Gets Development Deal at MTV

by Jean Bentley, posted May 4th 2011 11:15AM
The Situation, Jersey ShoreAfter 'Jersey Shore' stars Snooki, JWoww and Pauly D got their own MTV shows, you knew a Situation spinoff would be next. Today, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that a Sitch series is in the works.

Don't pretend you're not excited.

While there aren't actually any details about what, exactly, Mike Sorrentino's show will be about (though we can probably assume there won't be any dancing involved), THR reports that the Macaroni Rascal will film a pilot presentation later this year to submit to the network for series consideration.

When AOL TV spoke with 'Jersey Shore' creator SallyAnn Salsano a few weeks ago, she told us the gang would head over to Italy to shoot the latest season of 'Jersey Shore' any day now.

Italian Mayor Sets 'Jersey Shore' Cast Rules: No Bars, No Booze

by PopEater Staff, posted Apr 20th 2011 10:30AM
Jersey ShoreWhat's a season of 'Jersey Shore' without a bar fight or public binge drinking?

We'll soon find out as the cast of the MTV show heads to Florence, Italy, where the mayor has given the show a list of strict rules to follow during their stay to film season 4.

According to the New York Post, the mayor of Florence, Matteo Renzi, listed several rules in the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera for the 'Jersey Shore' cast to follow.

Renzi's rules are pretty strict -- at least by MTV standards -- and they include:

• The cast will not be filmed in bars and clubs that serve alcohol.

• The cast will not be filmed drinking in public.

• The show will not be filmed to promote Florence as a drinking town.

• The show should be filmed in a manner to promote Italy (not Americans visiting Italy) and feature its culture and good food.
