One of the statistics cited in MTV's compelling documentary The Dropout Chronicles that aired May 9 (and will air again) is that 47% of kids report that they drop out of high school because school is boring. However, this is a self-reported reason, and any scientist will tell you that self-reports are not necessarily reliable.
