Escaped Cons Take Callie Hostage on Season Finale of 'The Glades' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 6th 2011 6:53AM
It gets personal for Det. Jim Longworth when two escaped inmates take the hospital Callie works at hostage on the season finale of 'The Glades' (Mon, 10PM ET on A&E).When he brought the money they had demanded, there was a stand-off between Longworth and the cons. Only, at that time they still had the leverage, and they knew he had special feelings for Callie (which he may never act on because this is television), so she was an especially valuable hostage.
"You harm one hair on her head, and I will hunt you down and kill you like a dog," he told them.
Matt Passmore Discusses the Complex Relationships of 'The Glades' (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 17th 2011 6:15PM
Steve Edwards, anchor of 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 9AM PT on Fox) is a big fan of 'The Glades.' In an interview on Wednesday, he told 'Glades' star Matt Passmore that he'd seen every episode of the show, and gushed about the characters and their relationships, especially the chemistry between Passmore's Jim Longworth and Kiele Sanchez's Callie Cargill.Passmore said 'Glades' creator and writer Clifton Campbell had written the relationship between Longworth and Cargill to be complex. "Most television, especially procedurals, work on just a simmering tension," he said. "Ours isn't so much about tension but about obstacles. So already it's, you know, guy meets girl, guy finds out that girl is married to a guy in prison, has a child, and all the complexities that come with that."
EXCLUSIVE: The Everglades Shine in This 'The Glades' Season 1 DVD Clip
by Jean Bentley, posted Jun 23rd 2011 2:30PM
A&E's summer series 'The Glades' is replete with crazy characters. After all, you'd expect nothing else from a show that follows a homicide detective in Florida. But aside from the actual people who populate Palm Glade, there's another character at work on the show: The Florida Everglades.
The swampy landscape is a unique setting for a murder investigation series, especially since many other shows tend to hit up the flashier Florida locales (Miami, anyone?)
After the jump, check out an exclusive clip from a featurette on 'The Glades' season 1 DVD, out now from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment (on Blu-ray, too!), in which the show's stars discuss a major character: the Glades themselves.
Is Tuesday 10PM the New Thursday 9PM?
by Jane Boursaw, posted Apr 27th 2010 10:01AM
Summer TV programming used to be a wasteland of reruns, reruns and more reruns. Seasons ran from September to May, and that's the way it was and we liked it! OK, we didn't really like it, but it got all the kids outside for the summer. But no more of that nonsense. We'll keep 'em glued to the tube year-round now. Cable networks have been launching new and returning shows in the summer, and it makes sense, because they don't have the tough competition from the broadcast networks. Along with that, though, are seriously competitive timeslots, especially Tuesday at 10PM. If we didn't know better, we'd think it was Thursday at 9PM. You know, 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'The Office,' 'CSI,' 'Fringe,' and 'Supernatural,' among others. That's some serious competition.
