'The League': Eliza Dushku Is Getting Frisky With Kevin (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 9th 2011 6:30AM
'The League' - 'The Light of Genesis'Eliza Dushku got very intimate with one castmember of 'The League' (Thu., 10:30PM ET on FX) during her guest spot as a Krav Maga instructor. Kevin spent the episode convinced that she was clearly hitting on him, but his wife just wasn't buying it.

Meanwhile, Dushku kept using Kevin as her partner to show moves to the class, putting his hands on her breasts before taking him down, and at another point putting her hands on him to demonstrate another move.

When Kevin brought Pete in, he didn't even get close to her before he was on the mat.

The Guys Stage a Reverse Intervention for Will Forte on 'The League' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 2nd 2011 6:30AM
'The League' - 'The Out of Towner'Pete's been in a bit of a dry spell of late on 'The League' (Thu., 10:30PM ET on FX), so he was more than thrilled that their old buddy Chuck (Will Forte) was coming back into town. Back in the day, his very disturbing antics with the single ladies allowed Pete to come in and smooth things over. It was a win-win!

But when Chuck showed up, he was disturbingly with a chip commemorating his sobriety. This simply won't do, so the boys tried to stage a reverse-intervention to convince him to drink. Chuck was strong, but no one was strong enough later when Andre accidentally used cocaine instead of confectioners sugar to rim the glasses for drinks later.

Jeff Goldblum and Sarah Silverman Get Dirty on 'The League' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 18th 2011 6:30AM
Jeff Goldblum, 'The League''The League' (Thu., 10:30PM ET on FX) treated us to two fun guest stars who came together in a very disturbing way during an even more disturbing Thanksgiving dinner. It turns out Ruxin's dad, played by Jeff Goldblum, is just like him in almost every way. And we thought one Ruxin was bad.

But as bad as it was seeing double, it was nothing to what Andre went through when his sister, played by Sarah Silverman, showed up and confirmed what the guys have been telling him for years ... except for Ruxin. She taught them everything they know about sex, and in fact offered to give Kevin a refresher course when she found out Jenny wasn't as satisfied as she should have been.

Ray Liotta Plays Ruxin's Scary Boss on 'The League' (VIDEO)

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 11th 2011 8:10AM
Ray Liotta, 'The League''Goodfellas' star Ray Liotta was in fine form on 'The League' (Thu., 10:30PM ETon FX) this week guest-starring as Ruxin's scary boss.

Now, Ruxin has been lying to his boss about being sick at work and it turns out that his boss really, really hates employees lying about being sick. It all goes horribly wrong for Ruxin when the pair are out on the golf course together.

After Ruxin blames his constant sneezing on being allergic to bees his boss tries to help him by stabbing him in the thigh with an epi pen. We just don't think it will end well for Ruxin ...

Seth Rogen Plays Porn Director Dirty Randy on 'The League' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 7th 2011 6:30AM
Seth Rogen, 'The League'Andre was definitely made to suffer even beyond what he did in the off-season by the end of this season premiere of 'The League' (Thu., 10:30PM ET on FX). The oft-mentioned but never seen Dirty Randy finally made an appearance, and he bears an eery resemblance to Seth Rogen with a sweet handlebar mustache.

For the final punishment for coming in last the prior season, the gang decided to have Dirty Randy shoot a porn film in Andre's apartment. He had plenty of credentials, including a foul version of 'Schindler's List,' though we almost wish we didn't know his reason for the "artful" decision to film it in black-and-white.

New FX comedies include Louie from Louis C.K.

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 21st 2009 2:02PM
Louis C.K. from HilariousFX has announced a couple of interesting new additions to its slate of comedies - The League, about a fantasy football league, and Louie, an autobiographical sitcom starring Louis C.K. (Variety broke the news Wednesday). The League features some talented comedians, namely Paul Scheer (from Human Giant), Nick Kroll, and Jon Lajoie. But it's Louie that I'm most interested in.

Louis C.K. is, hands down, the funniest and most productive comedian working in America today. He has taped his third stand-up special in three years, called Hilarious, which is set to come out later this year or early next year. I've seen him perform the material for it, and it's just as funny as the first two. And he's already dropped most of that material in favor of a new hour of material intended for another special. That's a tremendous pace for any stand-up comedian. George Carlin, the guy who inspired C.K. to do this, is the only other comic I can think of to keep to a schedule like that.

FX making a comedy about fantasy football

by Brad Trechak, posted Jul 15th 2009 10:26AM
FXUsually, when one network or channel has a good idea, other networks try to copy it. FX is doing it from a few sources with its new comedy The League, a comedy about a bunch of suburbanites participating in a fantasy football league.

Since the creative talent behind the show is also behind Curb Your Enthusiasm, it's pretty obvious where the "semi-scripted" nature of this program is coming from. However, when I hear the premise of this show I can't help but think of it as a variation of The Guild, a web series about online gamers starring Felicia Day from Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog.

This new program has enough talent and an interesting premise that it could wind up a winner. It's amazing how FX is branching itself out with different kinds of shows. First animation, now this. And to think fX (note the lowercase "f") started as an experiment by Fox in interactive television in 1994.
