Big New House For Little Hailey on 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 17th 2011 3:30AM
This week, Ty Pennington and the 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (Sun., 8PM ET on ABC) took on a task very close to the heart for Amy and Matt Roloff ('Little People Big World'). The Korpai family have a five-year old daughter, Hailey, with dwarfism, but their house is hardly suitable for her needs. The Roloffs undertook a similar renovation on their farm to make the kitchen and other areas of the house more user-friendly for little people. So the design team stopped by Roloff farms for some inspiration, and invited Matt back to help with the build. Bill Klein and Jen Arnold ('The Little Couple') got involved as well, as this was more than just a rebuild of a house.
Bill and Jen Talk to Kids About Bullying on 'The Little Couple' (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 3rd 2011 6:00PM
Bill Klein knows what it's like to be bullied. Klein, who stars with his wife Jennifer Arnold on 'The Little Couple' (Tuesdays, 10PM on TLC), both have dwarfism, and had a tough time as kids. On Tuesday's episode, the couple was asked to speak at an elementary school near their home in Houston about bullying.Klein and Arnold planned how they were going to approach the talk, and Klein brought up some notes he found from his former family doctor. "I guess at this ripe young age of 11, I was having some issues that I did voice to him, and he documented it," he said. "It said, 'Billy is now 11-years-old. He has difficulty in dealing with his shortness of stature. He's being bullied in school.'"
TLC Renews 'The Little Couple,' Their Best "Little" Show
by Joel Keller, posted Feb 23rd 2010 3:02PM
A couple of weeks ago, I joked that Discovery Networks seems to have every little person in America under contract for a reality show. They do seem to be fascinated with the lives of people with dwarfism, aren't they? The company's various channels have explored primordial dwarfism, followed a little couple as they adopted an Eastern European baby with dwarfism, and followed a third little couple during the wife's pregnancy. They've also decided to build a series around a little couple who own a chocolate shop in Salt Lake City ('The Little Chocolatiers') and a little person who rescues pit bulls ('Pit Boss'). And the family who started TLC down this road, the Roloffs, are still cranking out episodes of 'Little People, Big World.'
Of all these shows, I've always liked 'The Little Couple' the best. I'm not sure if it's because it's so unrelentingly normal or that Bill Klein and Jen Arnold make such a charming couple. Either way, it's good to hear that TLC has renewed the show for a third season.
