DVR Divas Podcast: 'The Office' Wedding Spectacular
by AOL TV Staff, posted Oct 13th 2009 7:00PM
It seems like everybody watched Jim and Pam get hitched on 'The Office' last week -- and of course AOL TV editors Sandy Deane, Kelly Woo and Patricia Chui were no exception. Hear why they thought it was the best.episode.ever. Plus, the demise of 'Southland' prompts a debate about the future of NBC (adios for now, hot cop Ben McKenzie) and they ponder whether 'Project Runway' sucks this season.

The Jay Leno Show: Jenna Fischer
by Danny Gallagher, posted Oct 3rd 2009 3:18AM

I had a really hard time finding an image to include with this article. I went through every newspaper article that had "The Jay Leno Show" in the body of its text. I did searches on Google Images until Google got sick of me clogging their bandwidth. Even my editor Jane Boursaw couldn't use her super press connection powers to find one stinking shot of Jay blowing his nose in between sets from Friday's show.
Perhaps that's because Friday's late night appetizer on NBC wasn't really all that eventful. Don't take that to mean that it was totally dull, drab or boring, just a typical show for Jay and company.
And given some of the past episodes that sucked out loud, there's nothing wrong with being typical. Compared to the Pee Wee Herman debacle, it's a Devil's Tower sized step up.
Pam's mom is coming to The Office

Michael Ausiello is reporting that the role of Pam's mom has been cast on The Office. The name Linda Purl may not sound familiar to you, unless of course, you're a huge Matlock fan, but the woman best known for playing Matlock's daughter has snagged the role of Mrs. Beesly. Some fans may be disappointed that the role didn't go to a bigger name, but if you think about it, that's just kind of the way of The Office. As BJ Novak says, "it is supposed to be real average Joes, and casting a famous actor takes away from that." So casting Glen Close, for instance, would be a bit of a distraction. However, this news still disappoints me-- but for a different reason.
I'm so excited about this news from The Office!

Readers of TV Squad know that our fearless editor-in-chief Joel has been at the Television Critics Association press tour, scooping up all the cool news and interviews, and posting them here for all of us to read. It's a lot of work attending these events; you have to be "on" all the time and not only attend panels, do set visits, conduct interviews, and hob-nob with celebrities, but also write everything up and post it to the site in a timely fashion. I have to give a big shout-out to Joel, because I love seeing all the TCA news coming through.
I'm especially geeked about the news he posted after his set visit to The Office. In case anyone wants to stay spoiler-free (which would be tough regarding this particular news, since it's all over the place and was pretty much a given anyway), I'll post my commentary after the jump.
