John Travolta Turns Down 'Glee' Cameo, Chloe Moretz Books '30 Rock' Role and More
John Travolta won't be jumping on the 'Glee' cameo train. The 'Grease' star told 'Entertainment Tonight' he was asked to cameo but turned down the offer."They've asked, but when I do musicals I train for six to nine months ... and a show like that is an on-demand thing," Travolta said. "I really have a criteria or a pride that I would wanna knock 'em dead, and I don't think I'd knock 'em dead in a week."
Travolta's 'Grease' co-star Olivia Newton John has appeared on the show twice. Among other high-profile guests, Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow has a recurring role on the series and Anne Hathaway dreamed up her own role and pitched it to producers.
In other casting news ...
• 'Kick-Ass' star Chloe Moretz will guest on '30 Rock.' The actress confirmed the news via Twitter last night. "So!! Tomorrow I start filming #30Rock bright and early, so you all should expect tweeting to start before the sun shines...oh yes <3 Night!" [Twitter/MovieLine]
• 'Dallas' without J.R. Ewing? Not if Larry Hagman has anything to do with it. The 79-year-old actor has agreed to appear in TNT's reboot. "I haven't signed any contract but I gave them my commitment verbally," Hagman told TV Guide. "I just told them I'd do it and my word's good!" [TV Guide]
• Tila Tequila will guest on '$#*! My Dad Says.' Yep, you needed another reason to groan about this show. The reality star will play Ting Ting, the wife of a rich man, on the Jan. 27 episode. [TV Guide]
Jimmy Kimmel Finds Perfect Lawyer for Tila Tequila's 'Juggalos' Lawsuit (VIDEO)
Reality TV star-turned-rapper Tila Tequila was attacked last weekend by fans of the Insane Clown Posse when she attempted to perform at their Gathering of the Juggalos festival. Audience members pelted rocks, bottles and human excrement at the star onstage, and later rocked her trailer and smashed the windows of her escape vehicle. Tequila now plans to sue the gathering's organizers into bankruptcy. To assist in her quest for justice, Jimmy Kimmel did some research over the weekend, and has just the lawyer for her. He shared the "commercial" on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12:05AM ET on ABC).
"Are you a recording artist or performer who has been injured by objects thrown onto the stage?" the lawyer says, while dodging a glass that smashes behind him. "If so, call the law office of Greenberg and Greenberg."
The ad for the "practice" then shows footage of satisfied clients, including Justin Bieber (water bottle), Lada Gaga (flowers) and Noel Gallagher being hit by ... well, you'll have to see for yourself.
Sundays with Seth: Knight of Payne
Bringing in fresh voices from time to time on a veteran series can really energize things. That's what happened this week, as Seth MacFarlane's former writing assistant, Spencer Porter, stepped up to the big leagues and scripted one of the most unique episodes of 'Family Guy' in a very long time. In fact, in thinking about it now, I'm not even sure if there were any of the show's trademark cutaways.Instead, we got tons and tons of surreal adventure right there in the main script. Stewie found Brian's script in order to set up Brian's adventure, and then spent the rest of the episode with a massive head wound. Considering Stewie's popularity, it was a brave move to remove him from the episode for so long.
Tila Tequila choked by football star
I'm not a fan of Tila Tequila (actual name: Tila Nguyen) or her MTV programs A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila or its sequel, but that doesn't mean I want her to get hurt. Sadly, it looks like she was allegedly restrained and choked by Shawne Merriman, a linebacker with the San Diego Chargers. Charges have already been pressed.Since she did call and press charges, I'm going to assume this isn't one of those cases of erotic asphyxiation gone wrong and assume Mr. Merriman was (allegedly) trying to prove his manhood somehow. In which case he's a cad and a beast and there are more promising men out there. In fact, since Ms. Nguyen is allegedly bisexual (she claimed to be on her show, but I've always had my doubts about that) she has an even bigger batch of better options to choose from.
Is this going to be another case of Rihanna and Chris Brown? I certainly hope not.

A history of reality television (part five): I take this millionaire bachelor to be my geeky newlywed date - VIDEOS
For some, watching relationship-based reality programming is not their idea of a pleasant night in. Why should they watch shows about finding and keeping love when it takes so long to find that right person in real life? Yet, since the mid-'60s, viewers have turned-in to watch others search for their soul mate. Or, at least their soul mate of the hour.
Of course, in the time of the Reality Revolution, the way love was found on television changed a bit. Rather than asking a simple set of questions to a set of bachelors or bachelorettes sitting behind a wall, men and women would compete for the love of a well-to-do bachelor or bachelorette, or a rapper/model, or a washed up 80s hair band star. They would even compete to see if their love could withstand an onslaught of temptation.
Sometimes they would find their one true love on these reality show. Other times they would be tossed away, their hearts broken, like a piece of paper. Along the way they would be love, sex, fights, sex, heartfelt moments, and sex. With reality programming being what it is, the viewers ate it all up.

Tila Tequila leaves TV, wants to do "meaningful stuff"
Reality television can breathe a sigh of either relief or disappointment, as Tila Tequila will no longer be amongst their ranks. The star of A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila has decided to move on to "meaningful stuff". Obviously, the nude modeling, the fashion business ventures, the television dating show and the acting and singing wasn't enough. Her exact quote: "I wanna do meaningful stuff. After a while you reach your goals and then what? You just prance around like Paris Hilton all day long and feel like you have to find the next scandal to stay big. This lifestyle is fun and I worked hard for it, but I think in the long run, it's a lot. I just wanna be in love for the rest of my life and move to an island and have kids."
The Reality Shows Have Writers!? Award: Call for Considerations
I'm in Los Angeles right now. From my observations: everyone is perfect looking, the weather is always beautiful, and everyone drives everywhere despite the fact that gas is approximately eleventy billion dollars a gallon and it doesn't appear that anyone is actually, you know, working. LA doesn't exist in any kind of recognizable reality. Let's put it this way: if the guys in Plato's cave were to figure out that the figures being cast onto their walls came from the Sunset Strip, they'd probably opt to stay chained up.It stands to reason, then, that any genre springing to life in such an environment would bear no resemblance to what the rest of the world calls "reality". TV Squad therefore presents its first annual The Reality Shows Have Writers!? Award, recognizing those shows that in no way reflect a life that any human being on the planet is actually living but, for some reason, call themselves "reality shows."

Nielsen cable ratings for the week ending December 23
Here are the weekly cable ratings, by number of viewers.
It's funny, when I was typing this out, I had a strong sense of deja vu. I had to keep on checking to see if this was the ratings from a month ago or the ratings for this week, but it is indeed correct. Monday Night RAW and SpongeBob often make the list, but shows like SportsCenter, The Santa Clause 2, I Love New York 2, and Tila Tequila threw me for a loop for a second there.
