Who should win the Celebrity Apprentice?

by Isabelle Carreau, posted May 5th 2009 3:08PM
The Celebrity ApprenticeIf you are a fan of The Celebrity Apprentice, you should have watched Sunday's two-hour episode by now and know that Joan Rivers and Annie Duke will face off in the ultimate task.

On April 23, I asked TV Squad readers to vote in an Annie Vs Joan poll. The question was simple "Who should win the war?" At the time I write this line, 43.3% voted for Joan, 35.4% said Annie, while 21.1% opted for Trump to fire them both. That means 21.1% of you are disappointed this week, as Trump decided to make Joan and Annie the two finalists.

No matter if you like or hate Annie and/or Joan, you have to admit that out of the four contestants that were left at the beginning of the episode, those two will offer the most entertaining finale. Now that we know it's officially Joan Vs. Annie, who do you think should be hired?

Canada's laugh reserves running dangerously low

by Danny Gallagher, posted May 4th 2009 8:14PM
The nation of Canada, as viewed through South ParkAmericans might be running out of money, steady jobs and patience, but Canadians are dealing with an equally depressing depletion.

And no, it's not beer. A shortage of Canadian beer would be a blessing, not a curse.

Variety reports that the land of milk and hockey is low on laughs because the CTV network hasn't produced a new hit sitcom that has won the nation's maple syrup pumping hearts.

The Donald to fire more "stars" next year as NBC renews Celebrity Apprentice

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 29th 2009 8:02PM
Vince Shlomi (It's an exciting time to be a B-, ,C- or D-List celebrity. NBC has just renewed the Celebrity Apprentice for another season set for next spring. Ratings have been pretty good for the current run, airing on Sundays with such A-List celebrities as Khloe Kardashian, Tom Green and the Dice Man. It's surprisingly entertaining television, and it's fun seeing Donald Trump interacting with these big names. Of course what it really is is just more of that celebreality voyeurism crap on which VH1 built an empire.

Did Trump go off his rocker on last night's Celebrity Apprentice?

by Isabelle Carreau, posted Apr 6th 2009 4:26PM
The ApprenticeI admit it, I've been watching The Celebrity Apprentice and I have been entertained by every minute of it. Yes, it doesn't take much to amuse me on Sunday nights, as you can see, but those of you who do watch the show must agree that this season's crop brings the drama!

The cast may not include Omarosa and Piers, last season's winner, but Dennis Rodman, Clint Black, Annie Duke, Joan and Melissa Rivers stepped up to the drama plate.

Warning! If you haven't watched last night's episode yet, stop reading this post now and come back once you've watched it because I know you'll want some place to discuss the boardroom drama.

Can the Celebrity Apprentice succeed when there's no writers' strike?

by Joel Keller, posted Jan 9th 2009 1:03PM
Celeb Apprentice 2Yesterday, NBC revealed the cast for the second edition of Celebrity Apprentice, an announcement that had been made in October but somehow kept under wraps by the press until now. How did that happen? Well, my guess is that the press got a look at the names of the "celebrities" on the list and determined that they weren't leak-worthy.

I mean, really ... Dennis Rodman? Dice Clay? Tom Green? Joan and Melissa Rivers? A Kardashian sister that isn't Kim? No wonder why the only people who leaked the news were Letterman and Conan; they cast is barely even worthy of late-night monologue scorn.

Who wants to be a Tonight Show correspondent?

by Brett Love, posted Sep 19th 2006 4:36PM
Jay LenoNBC has announced that they are searching for a new national correspondent for the Tonight Show. Viewers who think they have what it takes to be Jay's field reporter are encouraged to send video or DVD auditions to the show. Submissions will be reviewed by a team of Tonight Show producers and writers. And hey, if you are just too busy this week to get to making your video, no worries. According to NBC, this is not a contest and the submission period does not close.

The winner, or winners, will join the long list of roving reporters for the Tonight Show, which includes Howie Mandel, Kevin Smith, Mo Rocca, Ross the Intern, and Tom Green, among others. More information on the rules for submissions, as well as some tips on making your video, can be found on the Tonight Show website.

I say they combine this with Who Wants To Be A Superhero? and send Lumeria and Major Victory to interview some nutters at a U.F.O. convention.

Tom Green gets another show... online

by Anna Johns, posted Jun 4th 2006 4:29PM
tom greenTom Green may be on to something. He just got his own weekly call-in show online. Considering all the video that people are watching on the internet these days, it sounds like a damn good idea. Green will host his show from his own living room on TVMania.com, a Denver-based website, and also on TomGreen.com. It'll be mostly call-in and it sounds like he'll also play some of the goofy video bits he's been posting to his website. As for guests? Tom doesn't think so, saying, "I doubt we'll get anybody good. It's in my living room. How rinky dink is that?"

Tom is going back to his roots, in a way. He started out on cable access television before getting his own show on MTV, of which I was a huge fan (Tom Green+College Students=Ratings). Internet video is the new cable access, isn't it? ANYONE can have a show online. And it's completely uncensored. Tom's new show launches on June 15.

Tom Green injured in fishing accident

by Anna Johns, posted Mar 17th 2006 8:56AM
tom green fishing accidentIt's hard to imagine how someone could get injured while fishing, other than getting a hook in the mouth. But, Tom Green managed to take one nightmare of a fishing trip. The former MTV host and roving reporter for The Tonight Show was fishing on a rocky outcrop in Costa Rica when a huge wave hit him. It pulled him into the ocean and then slammed him back against the rocks. On his website, Green described hitting the wave as "leaning into a freight train". And, when he finally was able to stand, he felt his ribs "clattering" in his chest. *Shudder*

Green ended up breaking two ribs and is currently recovering at his vacation home in Costa Rica.
