There was no emergency landing on the Hudson River for Brooke Shields. Last October it was all over the news that Shields and Jim Belushi were in a plane crash. NBC has tapped 'American Idol' music director Rickey Minor to replace 'Tonight Show' bandleader Kevin Eubanks, effective Mon., Jun. 7.

The news comes just one day after Eubanks confirmed that he will be leaving the 'Tonight Show' on May 28, ending a nearly 20-year history with the show.

"After 18 years, I just need a change of pace and see what else is going on," he told Leno during last night's 'Tonight Show' taping. "But it's a really difficult decision because this has become my second home."

Minor -- who will leave 'Idol' in May after three years with the show -- has served as musical director of a number of high-profile television events, including the Super Bowl, Grammy Awards and NAACP Image Awards. He's also worked musical artists ranging from Ray Charles to Beyonce.

OK, everyone knows Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore are quite possibly the world's biggest Twitter fiends. But to be fair, the couple don't just Tweet to self-promote and/or proclaim their love for each other (though there is plenty of that). On the 'Tonight Show with Jay Leno' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), Moore said that the social networking tool not only raises awareness for their charities, it actually saved someone's life.

The actress explained, "I had a young man, he'd only sent out four Tweets. One was just a general one, the others were to me and I wrote him back.... And people on Twitter responded, and [local authorities] got there in time and helped to save this man's life."

Randy Jackson's visit to the 'Tonight Show' was very... enlightening. Host Jay Leno got him to talk about all the flirting that seems to go on among the 'American Idol' panel, as evidenced by some revealing flirty photos -- Simon Cowell and Ellen Degeneres, even Randy and Ryan Seacrest?! -- that the 'Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC) had cued up.

Randy joked, "Behind the scenes sometimes we'll all kinda make out -- as friends."

But Jay is one to talk: He and Ellen have actually kissed, and he's got the video proof. Does he think he turned Ellen off men?

Since Kevin Federline, Bobby Brown and Nicole Eggert are being tested physically on 'Celebrity Fit Club,' Jay Leno decided it was time to test them mentally. He quizzed the contestants on last night's 'Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC). So how did they do?

Well, Nicole knew a tomato is a fruit (not a vegetable) but didn't know why, and then wondered about the kiwi.... Jay was relieved to hear none of Kevin's four kids is home-schooled. And even entertainment knowledge was a stumper, as Bobby Brown completely flubbed the title of a Brad Pitt movie.

Since conservative pundit Glenn Beck talks about Joy Behar on his talk show, it was reasonable for Jay Leno to get her talking about him. On the 'Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), he asked 'The View' co-host what she thought of him.

"Yeah, he talks about me. I'm on his list of 'I hate Glenn Beck' [people]," explained Joy. But she said it didn't bother her, and she'd invite him on to 'The View' -- well, after he'd been "neutered."

Then, speaking into the camera, she had a personal message for Glenn Beck, revealing she sincerely doesn't hate him... but using some choice words in the process.

Last night on the 'Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), 'Marriage Ref' host Tom Papa shared what he considered the best relationship advice ever given to him: to lie.

His sage words distressed the evening's other guest Miley Cyrus, who's been dating Aussie Liam Hemsworth for 10 months.

"Is he going to lie the whole time?!" asked Miley.
"Yes he is. You're going to lie to him -- and you're going to be happy."

Papa further explained his theory with a story of candle-shopping.

In discussing her experience (so far) on 'Dancing with the Stars,' Pamela Anderson proved she can joke about her, er, assets, too.

"Everyone was telling me, 'Oh, don't do 'Dancing with the Stars''.... But I said I absolutely have to do it," she told Jay Leno on the 'Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC).

As one clearly not afraid of inciting conflict, Jay then showed her a clip of Apolo Anton Ohno's visit to 'Tonight' on March 3, in which Jay asked the former winner of 'Dancing' for his predictions on this season's champion.

Apolo responded at the time, "Well, Pamela Anderson -- she's a little top heavy."

Gerard Butler admits he has a penchant for singing everywhere. So, as any good host would do, Jay Leno called him on it last night, asking him for an impromptu performance during his visit to the 'Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC).

In honor of the Los Angeles location (and several women's squeals from the audience), Gerard rocked out to The Doors' 'L.A. Woman.'

Olympic skater and reality TV star Johnny Weir appeared on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC) to talk about his sheltered childhood (and bust out a high kick).

When Weir says sheltered, he really means sheltered. Describing the community as 99.9 percent white and Christian, Weir said he didn't learn about figure skating until the Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding scandal erupted.

"We had no ice rinks in Amish country," Weird told Leno. As if that wasn't bad enough, there was a certain pop diva he had never heard of until he was 12 ...
