'24': Who's REALLY Dead?
by Adam Keleman, posted Jan 16th 2010 3:00PM
'24,' a show known for cutting corners occasionally on time (Can Jack really get from the Valley to CTU in under 10 mins?), is still based on a real-to-life world; when a person gets shot, they usually are gone for good. That's what is so effective about its premise: Thoroughly developing characters that grab the attention of the audience, be it good or bad, and allow fate to run its deathly course. There are times, though, when the details of a character's death are somewhat inconclusive, undoubtedly shrouded in mystery (What happened to Tony?!). So we took it upon ourselves to list some of our favorite deceased '24' characters, scrutinizing their untimely demise -- to see if things were how they seemed...or not.

TV Squad Ten: Most mysterious characters on television

Everybody loves a good mystery. Well maybe not everybody if the ratings for Harper's Island are any indication. But mysteries and suspense have been a part of television since it's inception. It's one thing for the plot to be full of mysteries. Things like "Who shot J.R.?" can become a part of popular culture. But J.R. himself wasn't a mystery, we knew him pretty well. But there are those characters we don't know much about. Think about Benjamin Linus from Lost when he first appeared as Henry Gale among the Flight 815 survivors. There were so many secrets and mysteries surrounding him that we couldn't take our eyes off of him when he was on-screen. Well Ben's story may be more or less told, though something tells me there's still more to be gleaned, but there are plenty of familiar faces on television with not so familiar back-stories. And while Ben didn't make the list, that doesn't mean Lost went unrepresented.

FOX Reveals Upcoming Plot Details for '24'
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Sep 20th 2007 11:28AM
In mid-April, we reported that the '24' producers were studying potential story lines for the seventh season of the FOX hit series, one featuring Quebec's separatists. About two weeks later, it was confirmed that Jack would go through his next action-packed awful day in a different scenery. In early July, we learned that writers had planned to have the action set in Africa and the U.S. but that the network sent them back to the drawing board because that story line would be too expensive. Eventually, official spoilers started to leak and FOX announced the names of actors joining the show (more after the jump). But yesterday, FOX sent out a press release so juicy that it had some people pinch themselves to make sure they weren't dreaming!
