Lady Gaga Talks About Posing Nude for Tony Bennett (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 28th 2011 1:30AM
Tony Bennett nude sketch of Lady Gaga, 'A Very Gaga Thanksgiving'Rather than go the more traditional route of doing a Christmas special, Lady Gaga treated her monsters to 'A Very Gaga Thanksgiving' (Thu., 10PM ET on ABC). In it, she went back to her old grade school to give thanks to the inspirations that helped mold her into the woman she is today.

Like the costuming throughout the special, this was a very stripped back and vulnerable look at Lady Gaga. But nobody got a more stripped look at the superstar than Tony Bennett, who got the opportunity to draw her nude. It was a strange moment for Gaga, who is a huge admirer of Bennett, but she was able to throw off her inhibitions and embrace the experience.

Regis and Tony Bennett Sing a Duet of 'The Best Is Yet to Come' (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Nov 15th 2011 1:30PM
The Regis Farewell tour has taken on a decidedly musical, nostalgic flavor in recent days. On Monday's 'Live,' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) Jimmy Fallon sang Regis a version of 'It's Only Just Begun,' and on Tuesday, legendary singer Tony Bennett and Regis performed a duet of 'The Best Is Yet to Come.' As the song titles suggest, it's finally starting to sink in that Regis is only a few days from his daytime TV retirement.

Ever the performer, Regis handled the song like a seasoned veteran, using his signature voice for some funny call-and-response. When Regis encouraged Bennett to, "Sing it, Tony," he joked back, "What the hell do you think I'm doin'?" Maybe after Regis steps away from 'Live' these two can go on tour together.

Tony BennettJoy to Beliebers and their grandparents: The original pop star, Tony Bennett, will be showing Justin Bieber how it's done when they both perform at NBC's annual live Christmas tree-lighting ceremony, 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center' later this month.

The roster of big name performers announced by the network spans not only generations, but also genres, with singers Michael Bublé, Cee Lo Green, Faith Hill, Carole King, Katharine McPhee and 'The Voice' winner Javier Colon performing a mix of current hits and holiday classics.

NBC announced that the hour-long special on November 30 will be hosted by the 'Today Show's Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie and will -- natch -- also feature seasonal high-kickers, The Radio City Rockettes. Prior to the primetime telecast, WNBC and other NBC affiliates (check your local listings) will also air an additional live hour of the special.

Tony Bennett Says Amy Winehouse 'Knew She Wasn't Going to Live' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 30th 2011 4:30AM
Tony Bennett, 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart'The last recording made by Amy Winehouse before her death was her duet with Tony Bennett, now available on his 'Duets II' album. He spoke with Jon Stewart on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central) about his time in the studio with her.

It must have been a tragic experience for him, because he was so moved by her voice and the quality she brought to jazz singing. But at the same time, he said he could sense that things weren't right.

"She knew that she was in a lot of trouble," he said. "That she wasn't going to live."

'We Are the World' Remake For Haiti Premieres on NBC Tonight

by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 12th 2010 3:03PM
we_are_the_world_25_haiti_logoWhen the original 'We Are the World' was created 25 years ago, the music video of the final performance was put together in record time. Over a month of work went into the production. For the remake of the song, which brought together the likes of Pink, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, the Black Eyed Peas, Tony Bennett, Jeff Bridges, Bono, Justin Beiber... and more, the video, which was filmed in 3-D, was completed in about a week. Tonight, 'We Are the World 25' will have its world premiere at 7:30 p.m. (ET) on NBC during the Vancouver Winter Olympics.

This isn't just an entertainment we'll be seeing, although it's going to be something to watch how 80 stars were crammed together into a cohesive, musical chorus as spectacular as the original 'We Are the World' 25 years ago. No, this is also a call for donations because there is still a lot of work to be done in Haiti.
