ToughLove
5 Worst VH1 Spin-Offs
by Chris O'Connell, posted Dec 15th 2009 11:30AM
VH1 is expanding on its 'Tough Love' franchise by ordering eight episodes of a show that is to include couples, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The spinoff, aptly titled 'Tough Love: Couples,' will feature 'Tough Love' star Steve Ward and his mother JoAnn. The two will assess the relationships of the couples just before they are set to marry, determining if they are fit to tie the knot together.
This is certainly not the first time VH1 has spun off off their popular shows, sometimes unnecessarily. In fact, there are so many spinoffs of their reality shows, we have compiled a list of just the worst ones.

'Tough Love'(Sun., 10PM, VH1) 1st season finale
We're still doubtful about how many love matches are going to result – or be long-lasting – from this latest reality love search series, but the show has definitely launched a new star in matchmaking host Steven Ward.
Love him or hate him – and plenty of the women at his boot camp did indeed take offense at his sometimes brutally honest feedback – we're predicting a future show that will revolve around Steve himself looking for his Mrs. Right.
In the mean time, tonight's season ender will find Steve sending the women off on overnight dates and giving them his final assessment on whether or not they've learned anything from his, yes, tough love.

A week never starts off well without The Amazing Race on Sundays. I hate when shows get delayed or moved to Wednesdays because of basketball. The shows were all a little off this week: there was only one vote on The Biggest Loser, there was no vote on Survivor, and The Real World/Road Rules challenge ended with a cliffhanger. Speaking of Survivor, it has to suck to be Joe, who had to be evacuated to save his leg. Alas, his life is probably more important than a million dollars. More odd decisions after the jump.

I couldn't help but think that after last week's reality shows heated up, the flame went out and the episodes were a little boring. It was probably because The Amazing Race was a non-elimination, Survivor was a clip show, and the photoshoot on America's Next Top Model was horrible and uninspiring. I'm not even going to touch the fact that Belinda Carlile was showing too much underwear for her age. More of the interesting highlights, and lowlights, after the jump.

'Kings'(Sun., 8PM, NBC) series premiere
For those who complain there's nothing but the same old same old on TV ... here's something different.
'Deadwood' star Ian McShane is Silas Benjamin, King of fictional Gilboa, rival of the neighboring nation of Gath. When the Gathians take Gilboa citizens as prisoners, a young soldier named David Shepherd ('Eragon's' Chris Egan) rescues the bunch, including the King's son.
What ensues is a David-and-Goliath-ish tale that includes power struggles, romance, backstabbing and some compelling acting by breakout star Egan and the always wonderful McShane. Add in an upcoming guest gig by Macaulay Culkin as the King's nephew and, well, there's weird, wild stuff going on here.
