A Little Quirky Can Be a Great Thing on 'So You Think You Can Dance' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 7th 2011 12:59AM
It was another night of unforgettable performances as the Top 14 dancers took to the stage on 'So You Think You Can Dance' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX). This time, joining Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy on the judging panel, were Carmen Electra and Travis Wall.Electra detailed her own extensive background in dance, so we wouldn't think she was just a pretty face, while 'SYTYCD' fans know Wall as the runner-up in Season 2. Since Season 5 he's become a staple in the roster of choreographers turning in brilliant performances, so it was an exciting evolution to see him judging the show.
Always a favorite of the judges, Ryan Ramirez impressed yet again in a "quirky" jazz routine with partner Ricky Jaime.
'Real Housewives of New York' Star Sonja Morgan May Lose House, 'Hung' Experiments and More TV News
by Chris Harnick, posted Jul 5th 2011 12:00PM
Sonja Morgan's life (and financial woes) have been splashed on the front pages of tabloids and TV screens thanks to her role on 'Real Housewives of New York City,' but now the reality star is speaking out about her messy divorce and money troubles.According to the New York Post, Morgan may lose her Upper East Side town house.
"I'm sure the world thinks, 'Sonja doesn't have to worry, she's got that husband there for her.' But I'm on my own," Sonja said.
Sonja claims in court papers that John Adams Morgan, her 80-year-old ex-husband, is refusing to pay her a $3 million divorce judgment and $300,000 in back alimony. Sonja also claims he has barred her from selling and visiting properties she co-owns with him in Colorado and France.
Last fall, Sonja filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

'Dancing with the Stars' - 'Performance #3: Results' Recap
by Michael Pascua, posted Apr 14th 2010 1:40AM

(S10E07) The eliminations this week on 'Dancing with the Stars' wasn't surprising at all. Right off the bat, Chad & Cheryl are safe. Chad immediately hugs Jake, of all people, then tries his best to hug Cheryl. Jake & Chelsie are also announced safe. Erin explains that her foot got caught, while Len commented that he wanted to see more of Aiden and less of Edyta. Edyta always had the issue of compensating for her partners with the combination of overly sexy motions and a lack of clothes.
Between the clips, there were these cheesy trailers for fake movies with the contestants in them. The only good one had to be Tony as "Glambo" running around, even making Maks turn in confusion.
Encore - Pam & Damian's Rumba - That sheet didn't really help do justice to Pam's movements; she had some strong hip action. I'm still weary about Damian's choreography, but it continues to get Pam through week after week. The two get touchy at the end, but it makes me worry if Damien is in a relationship or not.
Review: So You Think You Can Dance - Top 8 Perform
by Michael Pascua, posted Dec 9th 2009 3:02AM
(S06E21) This season of So You Think You Can Dance will be ending with a final six instead of a final four. I'm convinced someone messed up the schedule and they were supposed to double eliminate a couple, probably back in the Top 20. Noelle's injury didn't help the situation, and they decided to just go with a final six.We welcome the top seven contestants because Ashleigh popped out her shoulder in rehearsals and has to have an MRI scan. She won't be dancing, but she's in tears because another crippling injury may end her dancing dreams. Sadly, she would have done an amazing job with both Hip-Hop and Bollywood.

(S05E19) This was the gala 100th episode celebration of So You Think You Can Dance. As such, we got a nice video montage of the entire series to this point. It was great seeing some familiar faces again, as well as a very few that I actually forgot about. We even got a quick shot of first season host Lauren Sanchez, the Brian Dunkelman of SYTYCD.GROUP NUMBER
"One," A Chorus Line
(Contemporary, Mia Michaels) Well, I didn't really like that one at all. A bit of a hot mess all over the stage. With the mirrors and camera angles chosen, it was more confusing than anything else.
SPECIAL GUEST
Katie Holmes - "Get Happy"
Well, this will certainly go down as one of the most hyped guest appearances ever on the show. But how did it go?
So You Think You Can Dance: Top 8 Perform

(S05E18) While Mia Michaels was a little better during her last guest stint at the judge's table, it was Ellen DeGeneres that excited me the most. I'm a huge fan of DeGeneres, dating back to her stand-up work. And while I think she's hilarious and I love her comedic style, I'm not sure if her presence here made much sense.GROUP
"Let It Rock," Kevin Rudolf f. Lil' Wayne (Contemporary, Travis Wall)
I'm not sure this offered each individual dancer the chance to shine that Travis indicated it would; either that or they were all shining in the same style. Nevertheless, it was a high energy performance. I actually found the lighting on the costumes a bit distracting from the performances, but as it's a group number, I'm not too worried about it.
So You Think You Can Dance: Top 10 Perform

(S05E16) America finally has full control of the eliminations on So You Think You Can Dance. Cat reminds us that the couples will all be shuffled randomly. Was height ever a hot topic as is was tonight? The tallest kept getting paired up with the shortest in random draws. At least it reinforced the idea that the pairings were no longer rigged.I want more Debbie Allen as the third judge. Her comments may be equally insane as Mia Michaels, but she comes off as the supportive mother with the way she speaks and the words she uses.
So You Think You Can Dance: Milwaukee Auditions
by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 5th 2008 2:03AM
(S04E04) Well, this was the final night of auditions and I was really pleased. Not because I haven't been enjoying the dances, but because I appreciate that So You Think You Can Dance is keeping things moving along. By the end of tomorrow night's two-hour episode, we'll know who our Top 20 is and by next week we'll be ready to start voting for our favorites. Things are moving along so quickly. This is a huge improvement over American Idol's lengthy audition episodes before we finally get to their voting block. All said, there were some pretty amazing talents in every style this year throughout the audition rounds, and there were so many dancers we haven't seen yet. At the end of the audition rounds, I'll give SYTYCD an "A" grade on giving us a good balance of the excellent and not-so-excellent. I didn't have time to get bored with these audition rounds and I'm more than ready to start seeing these guys pair up and show us the goods, so to speak.
So how do you fill two hours with only one city to cover? You add some more auditions from the other cities, of course.
