Lindsey Vonn Lands Bit Role on 'Law & Order'
by Allison Waldman, posted Mar 1st 2010 2:09PM
Was that a real moment between Bob Costas and Lindsey Vonn during the NBC coverage of the Vancouver Winter Olympics on Saturday night ... or just a typical cross promotion for the Peacock network? You be the judge. The gold medal winning American downhill ski champion, one of the darlings of the Vancouver games, appeared with Costas. At the end of the interview, Bob reminded Lindsey that she's the biggest 'Law & Order' fan in the world. Lindsey didn't deny it. She said it was true and the video they showed of her visiting the set and gushing about the show looked very sincere.
NBC Plans 835 Hours of Olympics Coverage
by Jane Murphy, posted Jan 14th 2010 4:18PM
The Vancouver Olympics is not just NBC's upcoming hiatus from the Leno vs. Conan late-night wars. It's actually, you know, the Olympics, that edge-of-your seat showcase for quadrennial favorites like short track skater (and occasional fox trotter) Apolo Anton Ohno, and a launching pad for new American sweethearts (Minnesotan Lindsey Vonn is a downhill favorite) .Nearly every network of the NBC empire (with the notable exception of Bravo) will air Olympic events. It will add up to more than 825 hours of triple axels and double-takes (will German pairs contenders Savchenko & Szolkowy really skate to "Send in the Clowns" -- in clown make-up?!) According to the Hollywood Reporter, this is the greatest number of Winter Games broadcast hours ever offered.
