Jimmy Kimmel Gives Emotional Tribute to His Late Uncle Frank (VIDEO)
by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 7th 2011 10:00AM
Jimmy Kimmel's late Uncle Frank Potenza may be gone, but he's certainly not forgotten. Last night on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live,' Kimmel gave an emotional, tearful tribute to his uncle, who passed away August 23 at the age of 77.Potenza, known on the show simply as Uncle Frank, was a constant presence on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live,' where he worked as a security guard, commentator and occasional red carpet interviewer. He was a willing, good-natured participant in the show's comedy bits and was always smiling, even when he was the butt of a joke.
Kimmel fought through tears -- and cracked a few jokes -- during a monologue that eulogized his beloved uncle. He remembered his Uncle Frank as a New York City cop of 20 years who only made six arrests, a man who would always show up 12 hours early for anything, had been a personal bodyguard for Frank Sinatra and moved their family to Las Vegas when Kimmel was a kid.
He thanked the audience for "letting me put my crazy Uncle on television" before airing a montage, set to Sinatra's 'My Way,' that featured some of Uncle Frank's most memorable moments on the show. Check out the video tribute to Uncle Frank after the jump.
Animal Planet Gives Mike Tyson His Own Pigeon Racing Show
by Danny Gallagher, posted Mar 16th 2010 7:18PM
I'm tempted to make fun of this because you never hear the words "Mike Tyson" and "pigeons" together in the same sentence. But then again, I really like the layout of my face and it would be a shame if someone like Tyson were to mess it up.
Animal Planet has announced that Tyson will have his own reality show in which he races his flock of trained pigeons against a series of professional competitors.
For those who aren't in the know, Tyson has had a lifelong obsession with training and caring for birds. In the video below, he takes Jimmy Kimmel's Uncle Frank on a tour of his bird sanctuary.

Jimmy Kimmel: The TV Squad Interview
by Joel Keller, posted Sep 7th 2006 11:01AM
At the end of my conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, I fired off a question that's been bugging me since my first days at TV Squad: "Why did you start wearing a tie?"Unfortunately, Jimmy had a meeting to attend, so all he could say before politely kicking me off the phone was "It's a long story." But it's understandable that he might not have time to go over his sartorial choices. His late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, has just been picked up for a fifth season, and his first prime-time special, Jimmy Kimmel Live's All-Star Salute to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, will air on ABC on September 13 at 10 PM. In addition, he has just been named host of a new ABC game show called Set for Life. Oh, and he's also planning his football-watching activities for this coming Sunday (as you'll see, it's quite involved).
I spoke to the 38-year-old host on Tuesday about his football parties, his flirtatious relationship with Ben Stein, and other topics, all of which you can find after the jump.
