'24' Finale Will Include Eriq La Salle
by Allison Waldman, posted Mar 29th 2010 12:06PM
The news that '24' is coming to an end with the finale of this season wasn't as big a shock as some might have thought a few years back. After all, the ratings were down and some folks wondered if '24' had jumped the you-know-what. Still, when a great show calls it a day, it's a sad time for television. At least in the finale, '24' will be bringing on some big names to gussy up the finish. 'ER's' Eriq La Salle will appear in the last two '24' episodes, for instance. Eriq will not be playing a surgeon asked to stitch together the remaining limbs of Jack Bauer before shipping him off to Kim in California. In fact, he won't be in scrubs at all.
Battlestar Galactica is going to the U.N.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. A panel discussion is being held on March 17th at the United Nations in New York about Battlestar Galactica and the themes the show covers, including "human rights, children and armed conflict, terrorism, human rights and reconciliation and dialogue among civilizations and faith". Among the panelists are Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Ron Moore and Dick Eick. This concept does seem a little trivial given the magnitude of the problems in the world today. However, government representatives in the U.N. are still people and if either they're BSG fans or feel a discussion of the issues would be relevant to their work today, more power to them. Mind you, they could have just attended Comic Con and gone to similar panels. I'm still not sure how to react to this.
Wait a minute. The moderator of the panel is Whoopi Goldberg. I've decided to laugh.
Super Sweet 16 meets Survivor

MTV is capitalizing on the popularity of its ridiculous, yet incredibly addictive reality show, My Super Sweet 16. The network is sending some of its stars out in the real world to rough it a bit. MTV has produced eight episodes of Exiled!, which features some of the spoiled 16 divas living with indigenous tribes in places like Africa and Antarctica. The gals are there at the request of their parents, but MTV has not announced which gals are getting a dose of reality.TV Squad Hot Topics
