Republicans Hate 'Jersey Shore,' Love 'The Bachelor'
by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 6th 2011 2:30PM
Snooki's poof apparently doesn't work its magic on Republicans.A new study by Experian-Simmons found conservative-leaning viewers tend to favor reality programming like 'Dancing With the Stars,' 'The Bachelor,' 'The Biggest Loser,' 'MythBusters,' but one exception to that trend was 'Jersey Shore.' Also among GOP favorites is the History Channel's block of programming: 'Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy,' 'American Pickers,' and 'Swamp People.'
Two other popular liberal shows, 'Glee' and 'Modern Family,' topped the conservative list last year, but are no longer two of the favorite shows among Republican viewers, according to EW. They did, however, still rank high with those on the more liberal end of the political spectrum.
The Biggest TV Turkeys of 2011
by AOL TV Staff, posted Nov 22nd 2011 12:00PM
There are plenty of shows to be thankful for, but 2011 was also the year for some major TV turkeys. You know what we're talking about -- those shows or televised events that are just too horrific for even our "worst" lists of the year.
We've picked our top turkeys, included proof of poultry, and ranked them on a gobble-meter scale of 1-10, 1 being the least offensive or surprising in terms of suckiness, and 10 being scream-at-your-TV-in-anger levels of suck that we hope we never have to endure again.
Take a look at our list, then chime in down in the comments with your own top picks for the bottom of the barrel.

Did the Botwins Reunite and Find Family Peace on 'Weeds' Finale? (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 27th 2011 3:15AM
It's been a crazy ride for the Botwin family, torn apart by greed and weakness throughout this season of 'Weeds' (Mon., 10PM ET on Showtime). But in last night's finale, Silas admitted his failings and apologized to Nancy.Nancy got herself out of trouble with Heylia, who told her Silas wasn't happy in the city. So Andy came up with a solution to solve this problem, as well as Nancy's custody battle with her sister over Stevie. That solution jumped us ahead four months to Connecticut.
There we find that the Botwins are living together in a type of compound, allowing them to be a family without having to be that close to one another. But there are still secrets, as Shane is now attending the police academy while telling the family he's going to college.

Heylia and Dean are Robbed by a Couple of Sarah Palins on 'Weeds' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 20th 2011 5:15AM
With next week's season finale looming on 'Weeds' (Mon., 10PM ET on Showtime), things got a little sticky this week between Silas and Nancy. Now partnered back up with Emma, Silas decides he needs to score some more of Heylia's sweet mary jane, which is really just an excuse to get her into New York and some more screen time.We don't mind, though, as long as she continues taking no crap from anyone. When she and Dean were held up at gunpoint for their carload of drugs, we were applauding when she refused to unlock her door, and shot her assailant right in his Sarah Palin mask.
Nancy Eliminates a Competitor, Only to Create a New One on 'Weeds' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 13th 2011 5:45AM
Nancy was feeling pretty good about screwing over her son's girlfriend Emma on 'Weeds' (Mon., 10PM ET on Showtime). Emma had proven herself a pretty calculating and terrible person, which is probably why Silas was so drawn to her, so it was actually nice seeing her taken out.But Nancy isn't turning out to be a much better person, so we felt equally happy when Silas turned the tables on her after Shane revealed that Nancy was behind Emma's arrest. He's got the database everyone has been fighting over these past few weeks, and he tells her to her face that he's her competition now.
"Fair warning. Everything is up for grabs," he said as he walked out. "Best of luck to you, Nancy."
Michelle Trachtenberg on 'Weeds,' Returning to 'Gossip Girl' & Her Showbiz Role Model
by Jean Bentley, posted Sep 12th 2011 12:00PM
Let's get this straight: Michelle Trachtenberg only plays a pot dealer on TV. If you happen to overhear the actress discussing her side job while walking down the street, know that it's only her role as college student Emma on the seventh season of 'Weeds' that she's talking about.Emma has caused plenty of trouble for the fresh-outta-prison Nancy Botwin (Mary Louise Parker), as the two women fight over the same New York City territories for their dueling weed businesses. "Emma is probably just as ruthless as Nancy is, except without as much of the experience," Trachtenberg told AOL TV when she called us last week to discuss her 'Weeds' guest arc.
Below, the 25-year-old actress expounds on what it's like to deal drugs (fictionally, of course), hooking up with Hunter Parrish and the A-list star she's modeling her career after.
Andy Decides to Kidnap the Competition on 'Weeds' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 30th 2011 2:53AM
Emma turned the Botwin family's world upside down, but in Andy's case it was quite literal. After taking Silas for an emotional, and physical ride, she then took the "brain" of the Botwin family drug business on last week's 'Weeds' (Mon., 10PM ET on Showtime). Then, she decided to literally turn Andy's bike shop upside down, hanging from the ceiling what was on the floor and vice-versa. While it was a pretty trippy visual, we're not sure what she was trying to prove. How powerful her organization was, perhaps?
Probably, as she was certainly pretty cocky and sure of herself when Silas confronted her on the sidewalk. She even remained cool and aloof when Andy showed up on the scene with a nail gun to kidnap her.
Silas' New Hire Is More Than She Appears to Be on 'Weeds' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 23rd 2011 6:12AM
Bringing in a new employee in any business is a risky venture. If it's an illegal operation, due dilligence is even more essential. And yet, Silas let his libido do the hiring on 'Weeds' (Mon., 10PM ET on Showtime), when he invited Shane convinced Nancy to let him be her man on the inside, as part of his internship program with the cops. But his isn't nearly as savvy as he needed to be, and winds up arrested. The evidence he did bring home, though, would have been helpful if Silas had only seen it the day before.
Instead, he invites Emma to flip from their rival organization, Pouncy House, and into his organization. He brings her in, shows her the operation and then promptly sleeps with her.
Nancy's Caught Between Three Lovers and a Wire on 'Weeds' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 16th 2011 6:40AM
Well, Nancy got herself into one heck of a predicament by the end of this week's installment of 'Weeds' (Mon., 10PM ET on Showtime). She's hooking up with everybody, and wearing a wire for the SEC though we all know she has no intention of really going straight. The wire was to salvage her deal by offering up the company's CEO, Foster, to the Feds. She was pretending to be into him to try and get some dirt on him the Feds could use.
But the wire was still on when she wound up back at the shop and found herself there with her supplier Demetri, talking about this great new Afghan weed. With a wasted Foster there, Nancy couldn't tip them off to the wire or tell them directly to shut the hell up!
'Weeds': Silas Gets Drawn Into Underground Model Boxing (VIDEO)
by Catherine Lawson, posted Aug 9th 2011 7:50AM
Yes, you read that right. This week on 'Weeds' (Mon., 10PM ET on Showtime) Silas entered into the murky world of underground male model boxing.Who knew that people paid money to watch male models box in seedy underground clubs?
Anyway, in order to get "delivery" boys for his weed business Silas had to agree to take part in an underground model boxing match. So he stripped to his skivvies, climbed into the ring and took on an opponent who riled him by calling him "Momma's Boy!"
Them's fighting words coming from a guy wearing a sparkly purple headband.
Heylia's Return Proves You Can't Go Home Again on 'Weeds' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 2nd 2011 6:50AM
The action picked up this week right where we left off last week on 'Weeds' (Mon., 10:00PM ET on Showtime), with Nancy and Silas standing on Heylia's lawn and Heylia none too happy to see her former client. What we didn't expect was to see Dean Hodes come to their rescue by coming out of Heylia's house and taking the gun away from her. It wasn't enough to stop her rampage and attempts to kill Nancy, but it slowed her down enough for the situation to calm itself.
It's not the kind of reunion either woman hoped for, with contention and struggling coming from both sides. Nancy was able to use what she knew about Conrad leaving Heylia for good to keep Heylia from holding him over her head, while Heylia was able to turn Silas against Nancy for lying to him about who his father was.
Nancy Advised to Seek Her Roots, Seeks Out Heylia James Instead on 'Weeds' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 26th 2011 1:12AM
When Nancy discovered that her sister Jill is making a move for permanent custody of Nancy's youngest child, Stevie, she secured a trip to California with her loving son Silas in tow on 'Weeds' (Mon., 10PM ET on Showtime). When they got there, though, they discovered Jill has rescheduled the hearing for two months' time, in an apparent plan to maybe frustrate Nancy into giving up or screwing up (she can't do much more of the latter).
The judge wanted to give Nancy the benefit of the doubt, but he offered her some advice to get herself back into a position in her life where she'll be ready to take on Stevie again.
The judge was asking her to go back mentally to the good mother she was before all this craziness entered her life.
Nancy Lands a Legit Job and Then Sees a Real Opportunity on 'Weeds' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 19th 2011 2:20AM
Nancy Botwin is opportunistic. You've got to give her that. When she sees an opportunity, she doesn't hesitate to seize it. That's how she wound up with a legitimate new job where Doug works on 'Weeds' (Mon., 10PM ET on Showtime). And then, because Doug told Denny "she's cool," she got a lot more. Opportunity, that is.Denny was initially introduced as the guy who takes the lunch orders for the building, but he's actually the pot dealer for the entire building. That's the kind of opportunity Nancy can't pass up, so she does the right thing ... for all the wrong reasons ... and in the wrong way.
Instead of reporting him, she blankets the streets below with fliers announcing him as a drug dealer. Now she's got a whole building of clients who are going to need a new go-to person, and why not Doug's new assistant. Now, if she can just figure out what to do about her own supplier coming up dry suddenly.
